Colourpop and Old Navy Collective Haul

Long time no post! I can't explain why other than there's just a lot going on in the world and I'm doing my best to navigate through it. No excuses, just self preservation. I've been unplugging a lot and giving myself breaks. It's a privilege that I appreciate more so these days than many in the past. Not just following world news, but I try to stay caught up on the two countries that I call home. It can become overwhelming quite quickly and I realized how important unplugged moments are in a world that is very plugged in.

I still have my pictures for What I Got for Christmas, but it seems so far removed from Christmas now to share. Maybe I'll fit them into a random post, if interest is there. Most of the items end up popping up in my Instagram photos, though! And there are other posts I'm behind on, but I have to keep telling myself not to beat myself up about it. I'll get back into the swing of things. I know I will. It's just the obsessiveness and perfectionist in me that wants to make things harder on myself with added pressure and a proverbial magnifying glass pointing things out. Both a blessing and a curse at any given moment.

Today's post is a simple throwback to old school blogging, a collective haul with stock photos (since I'm waiting for the items to arrive)! I made an order from Colourpop during their big sale and used some Super Cash from Old Navy, taking advantage of Rakuten's cash back on both orders. Here's what I got and now for the hard part of waiting for it to arrive! 😁 I apologize if some of the Colourpop items are now out of stock since it was also a "last chance" sale but most, if not all, of the Old Navy items are still available if you see something you like!

H&M, Torrid, and Old Navy Collective Haul for Winter 2021

I did a little retail therapy over the past month. I had rewards at H&M and Torrid, and a gift card for Old Navy, so I put them to good use. I still have Super Cash for Old Navy that is good for the end of February that I'm already deciding on what to get. That'll probably be mostly for my husband, though. Long live the stores with points and rewards programs! I also took advantage of the after Christmas sales and clearance sections. I'm a "check the sales tab and click low-to-high prices" kind of gal. Can't relate to those that ain't! 😂

I thought about putting my "What I Got for Christmas" post up today, but I wanted to get this one up before it. A lot of these things are still available, if you see something you like! I'll try to get the Christmas post up next week along with my January favorites. I mean, it's already been over a month, so what's a few more days? Nice to see my procrastination on posts has carried over into 2021. I'll work on fixing that...tomorrow maybe.

Birthday Fun - Gifts, Sales, and Clearance

My birthday was two weeks ago and I thought I'd share some of the things I got as gifts and just gifting myself - haha! I'd like to say my latest Addition Elle, H&M, Reitmans,Torrid, and Taylor Swift orders that aren't in this post fell under that category, but maybe I can get away with blaming it on "Christmas in July"? Yeah, let's go with that. Technically, Reitmans and Torrid fall under the birthday category because I used my birthday rewards. I just don't have them yet and want to make sure they arrive before I share what I got. Perhaps, I'll post a collective haul on those purchases - minus the Taylor Swift items, because they said it might be two months before they ship.

So in this post, we have Addition Elle, some of my gifts, H&M, Shoppers beauty haul, Juvia's Place, and a few birthday pictures! Just typing all of this out makes me realize just how done I am right now. Like DONE. July was a fun month with a little getaway, my birthday ,and some retail therapy but I'm good to get back to normal and reining back the spending again. Though points, rewards, and gift cards made this feel a little less daunting on the wallet. (Except for the Taylor Swift order mentioned above. That one hurt. Don't even get me started on the shipping to Canada, but darn it Folklore is amazing and I just wanted the album and some of the merch to go with it. Who knows when we're all going to get to experience live shows again?!)

Collective Clothing Haul for Summer 2019 - Target, Torrid, Nordstrom, Old Navy

I haven't done a clothing haul in a while, so I figure I would compile most of my purchases into one post. These are all items purchased between May and now and while it looks like a lot to some, you know your girl here loves sales and clearance. Also, my birthday was during July so praises be to those beautiful creations also known as gift cards! At the beginning of the summer, I was stocking up on a few summery pieces but I've found myself already gravitating toward fall items in the past month. My next Old Navy Super Cash purchases will probably look like autumn threw up in my cart and I. Am. So. Ready.

All of the items below came from Target (oh my gosh, finally got back to my beloved while visiting home!), Torrid, Nordstrom, and the place that I can't believe I'm not a spokesperson for yet - Old Navy. The Nordstrom item was my first since they opened a few locations in Canada and my first during their annual Anniversary Sale. Here's what I bought and I'll link to everything that is still available, which should be all if not most of it.

6 Friday Faves for June 2019

I'm trying to do these random favorites posts once a month or every other month where I focus more on the things that aren't necessarily featured in my monthly beauty and skincare favorites. Books, music, etc. I hope you enjoy them and I absolutely love when you throw recommendations my way, as well. It's also just a really fun post to put up on a Friday. So here are my 6 Friday Faves!

Target Canada Clearance Haul

I went on what is possibly my last trip to Target Canada this past weekend. Emotions were high for this Target-loving gal. I know, I know. I live close to the border and can go there, blah blah blah. It's a two hour drive and involves customs- a pain in the you-know-what. Oh well,  I did it before and I'll do it again. I just don't have to like it. But we have to get our Target fix somehow, don't we? Unless Target finally listens to my ramblings and starts offering online shopping to Canadian shoppers **HINT TARGET HINT**.

You can see my first clearance haul and thoughts on the whole Target Canada closing ordeal here. This weekend, the discounts were 70-90% off depending on the item. I left the receipt downstairs, but I know I saved $185 when all was said and done. Here's what I managed to find in the dregs! And of course, you can probably still find most of this in stock at the US locations, if you like anything I bought.

target canada clearance haul shoes sneakers floral
Having big feet worked out well for me- finally! Most of the shoes left were sizes 10 and 11. I scored these for $5 a pair. I'm all set for spring and summer! I'm definitely wearing those red ones when I see Taylor Swift in October.
target canada clearance haul tray sonia kashuk eyeshadow palette
I got lucky with this tray. It was on a little shelf all by itself and I knew I had to have it. I haven't decided if I want to put it on my jewelry dresser or my vanity yet. It's just so pretty! The only makeup left was Sonia Kashuk stuff, surprisingly. I didn't really feel the need to go crazy, but I did pick up this neutral palette for about $3.50. Like I needed another neutral palette...but $3.50? Like I'm going to say no! I'll swatch it soon.
target canada clearance haul home decor threshold frame
You have to inspect some of the home goods, if you're going. Some things are getting nicked or broken, but I found this frame in good condition. Perfect for my gallery wall on my stairs that will be the bane of my existence until I get it done!
target clearance canada haul dvd bluray cd glee taylor swift disney
CDs, games, DVDs, etc. were on for 70%. I definitely could have went overboard, because they still had a lot of good options left. But I did pick up a few I've had my eye on. I was having a hard time finding 1989 in stock, but finally found it. I am still in denial about Glee being over. Those wounds are still fresh. I missed this Christmas movie when it aired last year and I had to have it for Robin Williams and Lauren Graham being in it. And then, Bears. If you're not new around here, you know my infatuation with bears.
target canada clearance haul dogs boots and barkley collar bow tie leash
Lastly, they had a lot of dog items left. Score! Or should I say Indy scored? I got him a mint food and water bowl for traveling or for being outside on our patio, two collars, a bow tie, harness, backup leash, and a dental kit. I think I got all of this for around $27. Indy sported his bow tie for Easter Sunday, looking like the dapper little gentleman that he is. Ah, that face. (P.S. - I may have totally started an Instagram for my animals under "indytheterrier".)

The last stores close on April 12, 2015. If yours is still open, I think it is worth going in and seeing what is left. You might get a few lucky finds like I did. If I get a chance, I may try to go to the last one open around me this weekend. Otherwise, I have to accept that this dance is over. This whomps (< bonus points if you know the show!).

Birthday Haul Pt. 1: Shoes

My husband and I went out last night to see a townhouse and have dinner. The townhouse viewing fell through, much to my dismay. Nothing is going right in our search and I'm very close to waving my little white flag and giving up. With that said, I decided I needed some retail therapy and went into the Payless near the restaurant we were eating at. Their BOGO 50% off sale was still going on and I had some birthday money given to me at the cookout that was burning a hole in my pocket. I regret nothing!

^ I saw these and fell in love. They are the Airwalk Dream Slip-On in Cream. Since I only got them last night, I have not worn them out yet. I'm going to wear them out tomorrow for my birthday, though! I do like that the back of the shoe is soft and does not feel like it will rub against my heels. All of the positive reviews online give me hope!
^ I talked about these shoes in a previous post. The American Eagle Whitney sandal is a repromote from last summer, but they made them glittery this go-around. I really wish I had known about these last year! I happened to be at a different Payless than last time, so they had the multi-glitter ones in stock. I grabbed them right up. Now to find a store that has the gold ones!

Obsessive? Maybe! But it is so hard to find sandals that are padded enough and are comfortable enough to wear a whole day. When you find a pair of good-fitting comfortable shoes, you should stock up. Just like your favorite brand of jeans! You never know when something will be discontinued...been there, done that, hated it.

So there is the first of my birthday haul! Tomorrow is my birthday and I still don't know what is going on, but I'm sure it will be a fun weekend. I'll share a post about it on Monday! :)

New Summer Sandals!

I have been so good these recent months with my spending, but every now and then I still catch that retail therapy bug that follows us bloggers around! I originally wanted to find a dress at Old Navy on Saturday while they had a lot of their summer dresses on sale, but I was so disappointed in the selection at the store that I went to.

I practically live in flip-flops during the summer, but I only have three or four pairs of sandals. So I figured that since the dress search didn't work out that day, why not run into Payless and see if I could treat myself to some cute new sandals! Again, I found myself not impressed with much of the selection but then these bad boys popped out at me!

My local Payless only had the black ones available in my size, but I'm so tempted to go to another location to see if they have any of the other colors. The gold ones are gorgeous! Many of my ballet flats are American Eagle and they never let me down. They actually make really nice shoes.

I really like these, not only for the design, but because the sole is nicely padded. I hate flat sandals that have no padding whatsoever! Another great thing is the piece of rubber along the toe strap that makes it much more comfortable. The back of the shoe band is elastic and does not rub against my ankle. It's hard to find shoes that fit my wider feet, but these fit very well. I jump for joy when I actually find shoes that fit my big ol' feet!

And the best part? You know how most glittery shoes turn your hands and feet into a glitter bomb? Not these! The glitter stays put on the shoes. Score!

P.S.- I'm not sponsored by American Eagle or Payless. I spent my own money on these shoes and just wanted to share a good buy with all of you! :)

Target Canada Haul, OOTD, & Review

I am on BFF status with Target in the States. We get along wonderfully and I visit whenever I can. Of course I was beyond excited when Canada opened the doors to its first three stores. I waited until Saturday and we drove the hour drive (whew- can't wait for the closer ones to open). Here is my haul, OOTD, and little review on my first expressions.

Around the World in 80 Eyeshadows Week 18

Girls, it's a new year and we're still growing! If you update your blog often and can handle weekly Monday posts, email me to let me know you are interested in joining AtWi80E. :)

Group post time!

Gucci Soho Disco bag in cream - New dream bag! It's so gorgeous.
Tory Burch Caroline Patent Leather flats in pink -  I've only heard good things!
Jo Malone London English Pear and Freesia cologne - Fell in love with this at first smell!

Granted, this is just a wishlist and all three are so very expensive. These are definitely my top 3 loves right now, though! And if money were no option (shame that it always is!), all of them would have a new home with me! Fingers are crossed to at least get one of the three this year. :)

Affairs Magazine :
fell in love with a new trendy color!
Beauty & Baggage :  is sparkling with her Models Own Mirrorball collection.
Fashionable Heart : found a red lipstick that might sway those that are terrified to wear red lips!
Massachusetts Mask : finally got her hands on two tricky lipsticks!
Norwegian Elephant : is taking a wee break from blogging!

So how would you answer this week's question?!

OOTD for IMATS 11/17-11/18/12

So this past weekend was IMATS here in Toronto. This is the start of my posts! I'm going to share what I wore both days in this one. Stay tuned for my other pictures, hauls, and swatches in upcoming posts throughout the next week or so. There may be a small break in between some posts since it's the week of Thanksgiving. :)

^ This was my outfit for Saturday. Seriously, every single article of clothing and the ankle boots are Old Navy. The purse is H&M. It has a detachable chain so I removed it to make it a clutch for the day.

^ You guys, I'm obviously obsessed with Old Navy because again everything is Old Navy. The shoes are American Eagle Outfitters. Seriously, go out to your local Old Navy and buy this sweater at once! It is the softest sweater I own and I can see it getting a lot of use this winter!

Stay tuned tomorrow for pictures from both of my days there!

A New Plus-Sized Fashion Site: FashPlus

I can't tell you how excited I am that this company exists. I first read about FashPlus on Refinery29 a few days ago and just knew that I had to sign up. As a plus-sized girl, I always love to hear about new sites, designers, and companies that cater to us. An awesome part of the site is being able to search for the fashions by your body type. They find clothes from different companies and offer them in one spot (including ASOS Curve, Calvin Klein, and Ralph Lauren!).

I thought I'd share some of the pieces that caught my attention!

^colorblock blouse (Avenue)
^long-sleeved cardigan (Mossimo Supply Co.)
^belted pencil skirt (Worthington)
^crossbody bag (Steve Madden)
^Chuck Taylor All Star (Converse)

I assure you that I am not being paid or any of the sort to tell you about them. I just know that some of my readers can benefit from this site! I have been given an exclusive invite link so that you may join, as the site is invite-only. Click here to sign up!

You can also find FashPlus on twitter, Pinterest, Facebook, and tumblr.

My 2012 Christmas Wishlist!

I know...it's not even Halloween yet, but I've already put together my Christmas list and I thought I'd share it. This is actually a great time to put together your wishlists, because this is the time that most of the Friends and Family sales happen! Even better when you can get what you want at a discount. :)

What's on your list this year? Hope you all have a great weekend!

P.S.- I've seen a few people complain that they are seeing sponsored Christmas wishlists and gift guides. I would just like to say that mine are not sponsored and that I would tell you if they were. No worries here!

Print Lovin' - Plaid!

Time for another edition of my Print Lovin' series! I already spoke of polkadots and stripes. This time I'll be covering plaid. I especially love plaid in autumn and winter!

^ Old Navy ballet flats, New Look plaid tights, New Look plaid dress, F21 plaid chiffon shirt, F21 plaid scarf, Old Navy plaid vest.

I have a few long plaid shirts that I just love to pull out during the fall, because they just look effortlessly laid back with skinny jeans or jeggings and boots. That's one of my go-to "comfortable" fall looks that can take me from a day of shopping to a casual dinner or movie date with my husband. Also, it's so easy to layer with. Take a solid sweater and put it on over a plaid button-down and it will look fantastic instantly. You can dress plaid up or down with just a few simple tweaks. Ah, plaid holds a special place in my heart!

SC Haul Pt. 7- Miscellaneous Items!

OK, I think this is pretty much the last of my haul! I just kind of jumbled most of the things left showing and talking about in this post. There's Coach, Bare Escentuals, Skechers, nail polish, and accessories! Also, I won't be posting again until next Tuesday because it's Thanksgiving weekend here in Canada. I happen to be hosting it this year, so shortly after this post my mind is going to be on cleaning, cooking, baking, decorating, and more cleaning. ;) It's nice getting to celebrate two Thanksgivings each year!

^I got these three bracelets from Target, because I can't resist their bracelet section! I thought these would be great for fall.

To see more pictures, please keep reading.

OOTD: Mixing Prints 9/21/12

Here's my outfit from yesterday. I went to a get-together for my brother-in-law's birthday. I've been experimenting more lately. I decided to mix leopard and stripes this time!

^ Jeggings: Paris Blues. Tank and blazer: Target. Tee: Old Navy. Necklace: Tiffany. Shoes: AE. Perfume: Stella (a fall staple!). Bag: Marc by Marc Jacobs.

The blazer is the one that I picked out in Target while I was away. I'm really kicking myself for not also picking it up in black. It's so comfortable and fits perfectly. I'll pick up where I left off on my travel haul during this coming week! I hope you're all having a great weekend. :)

Print Lovin' - Polkadots! + New Layout!

I know, I know. I change my layout like once every few months because I get bored with them quickly. The last one was barely up for two months? That sounds about right. And it felt bright and summery, but I'm ready for fall! So the first thing to show that I'm ready for the change of seasons is by giving my blog a facelift. :) Hope you like it! Now on to the main post...

I love polkadots! I have them anywhere from my nails, office supplies, to my current phone case. They are just one print that I will not say no to and I do not get tired of. And this year's versions are to die for! Am I the only one with a weakness to polkadots?!

Old Navy scarf - $12US
Old Navy cardigan - $19.94US
Old Navy sweater - $24.94US
ASOS shoes - $29.76CAN
Converse shoes (via ASOS) - $73.52CAN

Birthday Haul Pt. 3- Random Goodies

This is the part of my birthday gifts that just don't fit into the other categories. :) I had a lovely birthday this year, one of the better ones in a long while. I certainly can't complain about it...except maybe for the fact that it's over already (and that I'm another year older)!

At Bath and Body Works, I grabbed some more anti-bacterial gels because I'm always giving them away as gifts and I go through them pretty quickly with my own personal use! I grabbed a candle sleeve, a Pink Chiffon spray, some summery Wallflower refills, and two small Caribbean Escape candles. I couldn't resist the adorable panda PocketBac holder! Now, if they'd just create a polar bear one!

I got my first ever pair of Converse sneakers. I'm in love already. And I see an addiction starting! I already want a pair of pink ones!

From my friend Daniel, I got some K-Cups. My Keurig is my best friend. If you're debating on getting one, the answer is YES! The cost is well worth it.

As for other gifts, I got some gift cards to Old Navy, The Bay (Canada's version of Macy's, basically), and a local dessert shop. One of our friends picked out a lovely vase that matches our home decor perfectly! And money...which I have never complained about as a gift. I love being able to pick out my own gift, so gift certificates and money are A-OK in my book!

Thank you to all of those that wished me happy birthday on here, Instagram, Facebook, Twitter, etc. I really appreciate it!
