Black Friday and Cyber Monday Haul
It wasn't supposed to happen. I said it wouldn't happen. And well, it happened. I just could not resist the pull of the online shopping universe with all of those pretty and shiny deals. And let me tell you, one of them was very infuriating. You'll see below. But I regret nothing!:D
^ I purchased from Glitzy Glam for the first time. They were offering 30% off on Cyber Monday, so I figured why not?! I was very impressed that shipping here was below $3 and with the code, I ended up saving around $8. I'll photograph and review my goodies when they arrive. The only problem I had was that I wanted a three initial bag, but they must have ran out of stock before I put my cart through so I went with my full name on the makeup bag instead. The above stock images from their website are the exact color combinations that I picked out.
^ I love polar bears. If you were to come to my house, you could probably make a game of counting how many you can find! So I had to splurge on this year's Twisted Peppermint packaging, with a few of the items being offered only online. The small candles are on for $5 right now, so I got two of them in the scent "Leaves". Just wanted to make sure I had a few for the winter months. The bath items were buy three, get two free. Can't show the other two, as they are gifts for my husband! I do not care for the $20 shipping, though. Luckily, I found a 20% code on Retail Me Not that saved me a little money.
^ Forever 21 was offering free shipping for any order. So I grabbed a few things for winter and traveling. Something about the beret, scarf, and sunglasses together shout Gwen Stefani to me. I doubt I'll look as effortlessly cool while wearing them, though. ;)
^ And finally, my Sephora order. This gave me more trouble than I have had in a long time with online ordering. For Black Friday, they should have had their servers prepared for the increase in site loads and views. Obviously, the Canadian site wasn't prepared in the slightest. The carts would not work for four hours while they kept the actual site up. So while we're stuck hitting refresh every little while, all of the deals were selling out. They should have shut the site down for both Canadians and Americans until they figured out why we in Canada could not make our orders, but they did not. And all they offered was an apology. To say I am less than impressed is an understatement. My order finally went through at 4am...The two deals that I wanted most (Boscia and Stila) and the Cinderella sample bag were all sold out.
I did manage to get four of the deals and a few extras. I chose the OPI sample bag as my second choice. For $12 each, I got the Bite Beauty lip palette, the Tarte mascara duo, Lorac primer and eyeshadow, and the Too Faced chocolate bronzer and travel kabuki brush. To get free shipping, I added a few things that I cannot find in stores. The Boscia peppermint blotting papers, OCC Nylon lip tar, and Nails Inc. nail polish in Hampstead Gardens.
Further pictures, reviews, and swatches will be provided when I receive the items in the mail! Did you find any great deals or brave going out in the stores? If these deals had only been in store, I would have said forget it! I hate big crowds!

Print Lovin' - Plaid!
Time for another edition of my Print Lovin' series! I already spoke of polkadots and stripes. This time I'll be covering plaid. I especially love plaid in autumn and winter!
^ Old Navy ballet flats, New Look plaid tights, New Look plaid dress, F21 plaid chiffon shirt, F21 plaid scarf, Old Navy plaid vest.
I have a few long plaid shirts that I just love to pull out during the fall, because they just look effortlessly laid back with skinny jeans or jeggings and boots. That's one of my go-to "comfortable" fall looks that can take me from a day of shopping to a casual dinner or movie date with my husband. Also, it's so easy to layer with. Take a solid sweater and put it on over a plaid button-down and it will look fantastic instantly. You can dress plaid up or down with just a few simple tweaks. Ah, plaid holds a special place in my heart!

OOTD: Feelin' Neutral
Thought I'd break up the hauls a little bit and do an outfit of the day post! I apologize in advance for the mess that is my living room. I'm in the middle of a "tidying up" session!
Everything is Old Navy, aside from the scarf and necklace. I didn't mean for it to be, but honestly I'm an Old Navy fiend. I should totally be a brand ambassador for them! The scarf is from F21 and the necklace is Marc by Marc Jacobs. And look at Jade finally being a good cat in the background. Off the camera, she's a menace. That does it...I'm buying a camera to stay on her at all times. ;)
Boots are also Old Navy. These have become my favorite pair of boots at the moment!
My beloved Marc bow timepiece necklace. This just has a way of completing every outfit. I recommend his watch necklaces. They are not that expensive, the battery lasts a long time, and they go with everything. I'd much rather look down at a cute accessory (applies to wristwatches also) than my cell phone to check the time! They are saying that watches will become a thing of the past, but I don't want that to happen. So sad!

OOTD: Sunday
I haven't done an outfit of the day in awhile, so I thought I would share an outfit from this past weekend. Tomorrow, I'll show the makeup I did with a FOTD. :) It's a casual outfit, but I was just going out to eat and to run some errands.
*Ignore the scratching post in the back for our little snotface cat & the DVDs which I'm in the middle of organizing!
Tank: gray ribbed tank (Old Navy)
Top: Gray long-sleeved sweater. Folded and scrunched the sleeves up (Old Navy)
Jeans: Paris Blues Scoop Pocket Jeans (Alloy)
The bracelets and rings are the same from my last OOTD.
My old trusted American Eagle flats. I've had these shoes for like two years now. They are beat up, but I love them. It will be a sad day that I have to say goodbye!
It's a little blurry in this and I apologize for that. This is my adorable teddy bear pendent from Larry. It was a belated birthday present (a haul that I never got around to posting), because he saw that Forever 21 had some bear items. We all know of my obsession. This little guy's head, arms, and legs all move! :) I've gotten lots of compliments on him. I love him so.
The tote that I carried. This is the other bear item that he ordered for me. She's wearing pearls like I own and I even have a matching headband. Too cute! This tote is nicely made out of heavy canvas and has a magnetic snap top. I was really impressed with it.
For those wondering, I'm still anti-F21 after dealing with their customer service. I love their stuff, just not the company. I won't give my own money to them, but I'm also not going to turn away a gift from someone because of it. :)

Company Rant- F21
I put in an order this past weekend and I must have clicked something wrong, because then I got an email saying that the order has been canceled. So of course, I try to get it worked out and ask for them to re-establish the order.
Things like this has happened before with other companies. I've had it happen with MAC and Alloy, at the top of my head. The minute the mistake is fixed, they enter in the order once again, and all is well. They even keep the coupon code that I use and apply it.
You know what Forever 21 did? The complete opposite. They refused to fix the order, would not even apply the coupon code to a future order, and said that I'd just have to do the whole thing over myself. To get the original free shipping that I'd had a code for, I would now have to get the $75 worth of merchandise that it takes to get it. I understand that the mistake was my fault, but they were not willing to offer to help at all like other companies have done.
A company with bad customer service always turns me off. On further reading, I have realized that I am not alone in this. Not only is the customer service bad, but apparently they treat their employees badly. I was reading this article a moment ago, before reading this one. I went on to read reviews from past employees and customers. I can't say that I'm too excited about getting cute accessories from them anymore.
Maybe this one girl revolution will get me nowhere, but I stick to my morals. Maybe they won't miss a lone customer, but I will not exactly miss them either. I had rather take my business to companies that actually appreciate their customers and employees. :)
Have you had problems with Forever 21? Maybe another store with bad customer service? Feel free to rant about it here! Or talk about the good experiences! I had a problem with Lush about two years ago and I have not bought anything from them since. I take how workers and customers are treated by companies very seriously. We all should!

KC concert / Pt. 1 of Haul!
Currently listening: Lady GaGa! Got my ticket for November!
Currently thinking: I'm getting a sore throat. :(
Currently feeling: happy
I'm back from Troy/Detroit, Michigan! I stayed in Troy, which was a really lovely city. The concert itself was at the Fox Theatre in Detroit. I don't have to say how amazing the concert was, because that's honestly a given with the lovely Kelly Clarkson. I'm pretty excited because she sang Chivas (the first time I've heard her sing it at a concert!!) and the best part is that Larry caught me a guitar pick from one of her guitarists! :) I almost died when he handed it to me! It makes up for the fact that I couldn't manage to get a single decent picture.
Afterwards, I met Will who is the lead singer for Parachute. I also talked to Cory, one of Kelly's guitarists. Larry asked if I could go on tour and be a triangle player and Cory said "Sure, why not?!" So sorry everybody, the triangle is apparently mine to play. Ding! :D It's really sad that I waited almost two hours for Jill and Kate (her back-up singers) to come out, but they never did. The night was still a success, though!
Anyway, I did quite a bit of shopping at the outlets and whatnot. So I'm going to break it up into categories this week. Just easier that way! I'll do accessories today. :)
F21 was actually kind of a letdown. The ones in Chicago are much better! I did get two owl necklaces that I can't wait to wear. I don't have much gold jewelry, so I branched out (ha, a pun on words) with the gold owl! With the necklaces, I actually take them off the chain and put them on my own. And most of you know by now that I can't say no to bows. Necklace 1, Necklace 2, hairbows
I've been wanting the Juicy Couture engagement ring keyfob forever. Finally got it! I haven't decided if I want to put it on my keys or on my Daydreamer tote. I think they have stopped making this particular design, because they have the new ones out now. New one is here.
Urban Outfitters always has fun stuff. I have the first Listography book, but I'm really excited about this music-themed one. I love making lists of everything! I got two adorable key covers of a panda and polar bear. I'm obsessed beyond belief with bears (especially polar bears). And I got the Stones shirt because my husband is a huge fan. I see another Stones concert in my future and I want to be prepared. Plus, I love the vintage look to the shirt and it's a men's shirt so it's extremely comfy. book, shirt
Betsey Johnson! Her shops are so cute and PINK! I picked up two adorable pairs of socks. Love! socks 1, socks 2

F21 Haul
Currently drinking: water
Currently window-shopping: Shopbop
Currently feeling: warm...it's 61F in October...in Toronto!
I'd been looking at a few items online quite a bit the past few weeks, so I decided to get them. That's how I know I really want something. If I like something once and don't go back to it or find myself thinking about it, then it was just in that moment that it caught my eye. If it stays with me, I regret passing it up, or I keep going to look at it in a store, then I want it...I mean, I really want it. That probably makes sense to no one, but it works for me. :) Does anyone else use that method?!
1. Beaded bib top in dark grey from the Faith21 line- the most expensive thing I have gotten from F21/Faith21, but I think it's a great shirt for fall and for dressing up for holiday get-togethers.
2. Jeweled leopard necklace- I like leopards. ;)
3. Jeweled side satin headband- I love jewel colors and thought this would be pretty during the holidays.
4. Two-tone Wayfarer leopard sunglasses- Again, I like leopard print and leopards.
5. Expandable stone bracelet- I like that it's chunky. I don't have that many colorful bracelets and thought it would brighten up the darker colors we all tend to wear during the colder seasons. I don't usually grab up costume jewelry because it turns me green. Some people say why not save up and buy the real thing, but honestly...I don't plan on wearing this enough that I would justify spending what a bracelet like this would cost. I plan on slapping a coat of clear nail polish on the inside and wearing it on nights out. :)
I'm hoping it all will arrive in the mail today! Yay!

Special Update!
This makes me so happy! One of my readers, Lyss, has informed me of something that I have been waiting for!
Faith21 has launched in Canada! :) It's online and in stores. Now, they only have a few select store locations but they will ship anywhere in the country. It's great to see that it has come here, because we can't order from the US site!
I am so excited about this. I sent them a long email telling them that they needed this line here and I know many others did, as well. Now if we all can just get them to expand the sizes even more! They should have no problem with doing that, since it would double their shoppers. :)

Faith21
Currently wearing: bermuda shorts and a gray tank
Currently listening: Halo by Beyonce
Currently feeling: contemplative
When I went to Chicago in July, I was absolutely excited to go to the F21 store on the Magnificent Mile. Why? Because they are one of the select carriers of the Faith21 line. Faith21 is the line that they have launched to cater to plus sizes. Now let me say this...think of the term "plus-sized" loosely when thinking of this line. It's junior sizes and they only carry up to size 16.
You might not luck out in finding any bottoms, if you are above size 16. However, you can more than likely find a shirt or dress to fit over their supposed size limits. It's because many of the items are made of a stretchy material and made to fit loosely. I actually fit into the size limits for my upper body, but I'm absolutely certain that someone a few sizes bigger than me could even fit into the two tanks that I purchased! The key is to stick to the looser fitting items!
I actually rather like a lot of the line. A brand finally gave a youthful feel to a plus-size line. It's full of bright colors and patterns. The quality is that of F21, as is the price. I'm happy with the quality and price, because it sure does beat spending up to $30 on a shirt that you may not wear all of the time. I plan on ordering more to be shipped when I go home at Christmas. I say that because the line is not yet available in Canada and has no plans to be. This is a huge downfall in their marketing and I hope that they do change their minds on this. I imagine they would have a huge following here!
