My 2021 Christmas List

It's that time of year again? Already?! I've contemplated doing gift guides this year after taking last year off from them. I think I'll refrain from doing them again, but I've already seen so many wonderful ones on other blogs. Gift guide posts do really well with traffic, but it just doesn't feel right this year. If it is something you want, I could gather a master list of ideas instead of themed posts/guides or link you to some of my favorite guides I've seen.

I thought I would keep up with the tradition of sharing a few things on my Christmas list and maybe that will also serve as some ideas for you. That's what I love about posts like these! I always find at least one thing that makes me go, "Wow! How did I not know about that?" or something in that nature. 😄 I find the older I get, the harder it is to come up with a Christmas list. I feel like they were novels written in seconds in my childhood. Now, of course I have a running wishlist of sorts, but it always feels different when putting it into gift terms. If that makes any sense...

My Warm and Cozy Inspired Christmas List

It's a strange year and the holidays feel different this time around. I must admit that I feel torn about how to do holiday posts this year. I normally do gift guides, but it doesn't feel exactly like the right fit for me at this time. So I'm thinking of sitting this year out with those, but still showing a few festive ideas here and there. I have Bath and Body Works and Old Navy hauls that I'm thinking of posting that are full of current items still available, should you see something you like. Today's post, I'm sharing a few things on my Christmas list. Perhaps these types of posts feel like the same idea, but I just don't want to have posts labeled as gift guides this year. Absolutely nothing against those who choose to do them!

I think with it being the holidays, you should at least treat yourself to a gift that makes you happy. Maybe you're not seeing family. Maybe you can't afford gifts for everyone this year and gift giving is your love language. Whatever may be going on, remember to go easy on yourself. This won't be a normal holiday season for anyone. So again, go easy on yourself and try to surround yourself with things that make you happy. Music, a glass of wine, twinkling lights, holiday movies, etc.

If it makes you feel warm inside, it is a winner. I think that was what I was thinking of when I was deciding on what I truly want at this time. We're home a lot and I just want all of the warmth, coziness, and good vibes. I want our home to ooze hygge! Not featured on this list is the ever-so-essential and yet ever-so-boring things I wouldn't mind getting under the tree like new sheets, towels, and a vacuum cleaner. No pun intended when I say our ancient one sucks at doing its job. 😜 

And if I get nothing but a few days of vacation with my husband and dog, sitting by our trees, watching festive shows, and eating treats we don't normally eat all the way until the new year? I'm sooooo okay with that too. Because at this point, I think the true gift will be 2021 arriving. Good grief, please be better than 2020. Am I right?! 🙏

• Ninja Foodi 5-in-1 Indoor Grill and Air Fryer -My big ticket item I've been wanting. I cook all of our meals aside from the rare takeout and this thing seems to do a little of everything! Our super old grill is on its last legs and this seems like a good option while giving me even more flexibility in the kitchen than I had before with it being able to air fry and dehydrate!
  
• Bailey's Red Velvet Cupcake - Red velvet everything! We're not ones to really drink that often, but something about the idea of some of this in hot chocolate? Sign me up. That sounds amazing and perfect for sipping in front of our big tree!
  
• Replica Coffee Break Fragrance - It was between this and Gucci Guilty. After having a sample of Gucci Guilty, I really fell for it. Then I saw this and thought, "yep, gonna need that". Haha! A scent that mimics coffee with notes of lavender? Two of my favorite things? Sign me up. Take my money!
  
• Laneige Lip Daydreams Set - A balm for the day and a sleeping mask for night? Love it! Even better that the sleeping one is in the limited edition "sweet candy" scent.
  
• OGX Coconut Coffee Body Cream and Scrub - I've heard so many good things about these and the scent. Honestly, it had my heart at coconut and my soul at coffee. Do I need another lotion or scrub? Probably not. Do I still want them? Abso-darn-lutely.
  
• Sherpa Pullover - This specific one is from Old Navy, but I haven't come across too many sherpa fleece things I don't like. I'm a texture person, so I love throwing on things like this or covering up in a soft blanket. And coming into late fall and winter, I don't think the limit exists for how many warm things to own.

My 2019 Christmas List

I've taken the last week off from blogging, because I have hit a creative block. To be frank, I'm still in the middle of it. I'm also a perfectionist, so it is a struggle. To try to get back into the game, I'm going with something simple like sharing some things from my Christmas list. I've been wanting to start on my gift guides and still hope to get those up with some time to spare.

Birthday Wishlist for 2019

It's really just a wishlist, but my husband asked me for ideas for my birthday (it's Friday!). I had a hard time coming up with anything after having the most perfect trip home to South Carolina in May. I do usually have a running wishlist on my phone, so I resorted to that and here's a few of the things from it. There's no beauty items on it, because I just couldn't think of anything. Plus, I know I'll be getting my birthday freebie from Sephora to fill that void! Man, I live for birthday freebies.

We're planning a few outings over the next week or two to stretch out the celebrations, the Terre Bleu Lavender Farm for one. We also had a movie date this past weekend while finally seeing Shazam! You guys, it's so good. I know I'm late on the train. I love Zachary Levi (Chuck and The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel, especially) and he did not let me down. I went in knowing nothing about the superhero, but loved the entire story and adventure. It was even better that the seats were fully reclining...if only every theatre had those.

My 2018 Christmas List

There's nothing that breaks the bank on my list this year. I mean, I certainly want some things that do, but nothing that can't wait. We're doing Christmas on a tight budget this year and I'd rather keep my list more on the realistic side of things. I try to do that every year, but I really hunkered down. Have you made your list yet? I'd love to know what you're asking for. One big ticket item or a few small things?

And if you just finished celebrating Hanukkah, I'd love to hear about that too. Just give me all of the holiday talk. I live for it! So many of you have shared your decor, your kids excitement, your pets under the tree, baking, etc. on Instagram and it makes me so happy. I don't want it to end!

• Peter Thomas Roth 24K Gold Eye Patches 15 Pairs (via Sephora, $25 CA) - I've been wanting to try eye patches for a while now. The 15 pack is limited edition and a great way to try them out without the hefty price tag. I know I can be doing more in my eye area than I do!
• Sephora Almond Foot Mask (via Sephora, $6 CA) - This LE star print for the holidays is too cute. I can't find it on the site anymore, but I'm sure they are in stores. Like with my eyes, I know there's more I can be doing for my feet. I don't know what's worse - sandal or boot season!
• Polar Bear Flannel Sheets (via Giant Tiger, $35.99 CA) - Sheets of any kind, really. We haven't splurged on a new set in years. But these? These scream my name. Any guesses why? Yeah, y'all know by now. I haven't met a polar bear I can resist yet. :)
• Love and Lore Travel Set (via Chapters, $39.50 CA) - Next year is the year. The year that I finally go back home for a visit for the first time since 2012. I'm not sure when, all we know is that IT IS HAPPENING because I've been gone for far too long. A set like this really makes packing easier. I'm definitely a pouch and cube kind of packer. Anyone else?
• Mitch Albom's The Next Person You Meet in Heaven (via Chapters, $29.99 CA) - Mitch is one of my favorite authors. He hasn't let me down yet and I've been so ready for this sequel. It must be mine and join my other Mitch books in my collection. I'm all for using my library card, but some books I just have to own. And Mitch is one of those few that I will read over and over. Read Tuesdays with Morrie and you'll understand.
• Too Faced Under the Christmas Tree Set (via Sephora, $52 CA) - How adorable is this set?! Would this even be a "Wendy" list if I didn't include makeup? It was between this and the Gingerbread Spice palette, but I thought I would use the colors in this one more. Speaking of gingerbread, it is not on this list, but I'm hoping Santa remembers my hint about Bath & Body Work's Spiced Gingerbread candle. It is heavenly! I'm just on a heavy gingerbread kick this year. I'm not mad about it.

My Birthday Wishlist This Year and a Michaels Planner Haul

My birthday is next month. Any fellow July babies reading? I'm not a big fan of summer (that's no secret), but I always enjoyed the fact that there was no school on my birthday. I have never been a big celebrator of my birthday, so I didn't usually have big shindigs and invite a lot of people. And as I age, I'm still very much the same. Some birthdays have been better than others and I don't mind making plans for a dinner with close friends and family or something simple. This year, that's probably the plan. A dinner out, a birthday date night with my husband, and just taking it easy. Are you a big celebration type of person on birthdays?

I do have a few things that I wouldn't mind receiving as gifts. If you're here for beauty items, not this time. I've gotten quite a few new things in that category recently and want to take the time to enjoy those and get ready to review them. But don't think for a second that the Urban Decay Naked Heat palette is not going on my generic wishlist, just not on my birthday version! It's so dang pretty!

• Beauty and the Beast - I didn't get to see it while it was in theatres! At first, I wasn't excited for it. I don't care much for the live action versions of animated films. But it just looks so good from every clip I've seen and I adore Emma Watson.

• Le Pen - This list is mostly planner related things. Sorry if that bores you! I've been a planner person for the better part of my life. I just recently picked up two new planners at Michaels that I am really excited about (see below). I had a few Le Pens back in high school and enjoyed the fine tip. I never replaced them and I've since been seeing them pop up on my radar. So many colors, but I find black to be the most useful so I'll start there.

• Create 365 Sticker Book - This one is the rainbow one. I have four of their books in my collection so far and I am hooked. They last ages and I haven't even made a dent. These stickers are so great and versatile! I have a ban.do agenda right now and I make them work in the horizontal layout.

• Pigma Micron Pens - I haven't tried these, but I've heard they are brilliant. I thought they would be great for my bullet journal that I just started.

• Faber-Castell Pitt Artist Pens - Again, I want these for bullet journaling. 

• Recollections Planner Accessories Kit - I love these little kits. They come with a band, sticky notes, a dashboard, bookmark, stencils, and sticker sheets. The dashboard, bookmark, and stencils are all cut to go on the coil. 

• PopSocket - I already have one, but I don't want to keep moving it from case to case. I don't really use it while carrying my phone, but I love it for when I'm taking pictures or using it as a stand

Recollections Recipe Planner - I recommend it to you if you love to cook and bake. I promise you do not have to be a planner type to enjoy this one. I've been putting some of the recipes from Pinterest in it so far. I have a few that I've tried and enjoyed and I'd really like them written elsewhere besides just saved on my account.

Recollections Life is Sweet Planner - This is more for next year, though I'm breaking it in a little before that because it has a vertical layout that I am not used to. I was never attracted to vertical until recently, so we'll see. For now, I'm going to use it as my blog planner and test page layouts to see what works for me before it possibly becomes my main planner in 2018. If I don't make it my main planner, it will stay my blog planner and I'll go back to horizontal.

I used coupons on both, which I highly recommend. You can get a great planner and accessories and save a lot of money!

My 2016 Christmas List

I love making and reading posts like these! I love seeing wishlists. I probably shouldn't since I rarely leave one without having to add something to my own. But I guess that is just a chance I am willing to take. Ha! I cannot understand how Christmas is just days away. I better start practicing saying 2017 soon.

So I went down my list and picked out a few things that I wanted to share. If you have any of them, let me know your thoughts. And definitely link me to your own Christmas list post or tell me something you are asking for or looking forward to giving!

• Kate Spade New York Food Prep Boards - These are so cute and I love that they are glass so they won't hold odors from food.
• The Little Book of Hygge: The Danish Way to Live Well - This book has been screaming at me to get it. Right up my alley!
• Lush Christmas Penguin - One of my favorite Christmas items that they make. They're so cute and smell amazing.
• Dr. Jart+ Dermaclear Trans-Foam Clay Trio - It goes on as clay and turns to foam when you go to rinse it off. Doesn't that sound interesting?!
• MantraBand She Believed She Could Cuff - I love surrounding myself with positive sayings and what better way than on my wrist?
• Polar Bear Nordic Tea Mug - Not a true Wendy wishlist if a polar bear isn't involved. This tea mug is perfect! I also have the Apple Cider tea blend from DAVIDs TEA on my list and I can just imagine drinking that in this mug and watching snow fall.
• Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them - And like polar bears, I have a lot of Harry Potter related items on my list. Having read the original text book style book ages ago, I am excited to read this screenplay. I haven't seen the movie yet either. I'm torn between paying the hefty price to see the movie in the theatre or waiting until it comes out on blu-ray.

Current Wishlist for Spring 2016

Oh, those moments when everything pretty and cute is out in stores and then you look in your wallet and find cobwebs. Never fails. I'm pretty much a pro at looking online, adding things to my cart, and walking away. Virtual window-shopping, if you will. Here are some things I would like to add to my cart and purchase right now.

• Tarte Rainforest of the Sea Water Foundation - Beautiful packaging aside, water foundations always pull me in. I love that this one has a dropper, something I've never had before in a foundation.
• Color Switch Brush Cleaner - You can use the same brush multiple times in one look by swiping it against this cleansing brush to get the color off. Sign me up for this magical invention!
• Too Faced Sweet Peach Palette - A lot of people associate peaches with Georgia, but South Carolina has red clay soil that is perfect for peaches. In Gaffney, for instance, the water tower is a giant peach that looks like a giant butt. I'm not kidding. Google it. South Carolina is second behind California in peach production. So peaches always remind me of home. Doesn't hurt that the palette is gorgeous.
• Sonix Liana Teal Pineapple Case - Oh my gosh, this screams summer!
• S'well Dark Hearted Water Bottle - I keep hearing good things. I want one to take with me to my physio sessions. My Nalgene doesn't keep my water cold long enough.
• Russell + Hazel Marble Coptic Journal - Marble. Notebook. Obviously, it needs to be in my possession.

Current Sephora Canada Wishlist

To be honest, I am resorting to a wishlist post for two reasons: 1) it's been stinkin' ages since I got anything from Sephora (minus the birthday freebie and tote bag) and my list is growing and 2) it's been cloudy out, making it impossible for good blog photos. If you have anything on my wishlist, tell me all about it!

Also, since I'm talking about Sephora, I'm not a big fan of the changes in Canada. For now, we cannot get many brands both in Sephora stores and on the website. I used to make orders online to get the brands and items the stores here did not carry and now that option is gone. Half of the things in my "loves" are no longer available to me. I will still probably place orders online during the $12 deals or if a good sale happens, but the main reason I really put through online orders has gone wayside. The perks of the changes are faster shipping and no customs costs.

With all of that said, I now have two separate wishlists for when I'm here or in the States. Here's my Canadian one!

• Elizabeth and James Nirvana Black Rollerball - This smells soooo good.
• Dior Nail Glow - I like the idea of this.
• Sephora Instant Glitter Nail Polish Remover -Anything to make that task easier!
• Urban Decay Naked Smoky Palette - It has to join my little Naked family, of course.
• Sephora Black Magic Makeup Remover Cloths - I've seen a version of these on YouTube and they look awesome.
• MUFE Full Cover Concealer - Forever my HG concealer. I'm almost out!

My Valentine's Day Wishlist

Here's a few of the things that I would not mind receiving and maybe it will give you a few ideas, as well. I'm still trying to figure out what I am doing for my husband, but one of the gifts always involves food. No brainer. It's the way to a man's heart! If it ain't broke, don't go fixin' it.

• Make Up For Ever Tease Me Lip Set - I have my eyes on the Passionate set, but both are pretty. And a great deal!
• Fifty Shades of Grey Soundtrack - One of the best non-musical movie soundtracks I have heard in a long time.
• Alex and Ani July Birthstone Charm Bangle - My birthstone is a ruby, perfect for Valentine's Day.
• Handmade Valentine, poem, or love letter - It never gets better than homemade or handmade.
• Movie night at home - Popcorn, candy, good flicks, and cuddling on the couch. Yes, please!

And of course, if you're single, treat yourself to something special. Never anything wrong with that! We all deserve it! I have always loved Valentine's Day. I enjoy celebrating love and the fact that I am surrounded by hearts and pink and red...well, that's just icing on the cake for me.

Moving Update & Home Decor Wishlist

We started painting, renovating, and moving things in a little over a week ago. There is so much to be done. The best part is that we have always lived on our own and aren't starting fresh. So we're not having to spend lots of money on furniture, electronics, and whatnot. We did have to buy new appliances, because the place we bought had absolutely nothing. Works for me...perfect excuse to get exactly what I want! You can see what I picked out below.

As for my decor, I am really attracted to contemporary and modern designs for the most part. I love grays, black, white, and chrome. I prefer my art, cushions, and other design pieces to provide the color. Then, I can change it up whenever I want with easy changes. I hope that makes sense.

I've been scouring websites to find the right things. Rugs and lighting are proving to be the hardest to pick out! There are two light fixtures in my kitchen and I want to make sure that I get the lighting perfect. I have a notebook strictly for the move. My ideas, layouts, what we have, what we need, costs. You name it, it is in there.

Here are a few things I'm wanting, followed by the appliances that I just received on Sunday! Happy dance that everything continues to fall into place! Hopefully the stress is behind us. Seriously, I would never work again with the people we worked with this time around. But we're officially in the new place and getting settled in!

Oversized rocking chair (via Canadian Tire) - This is not modern, but the southern girl comes out the most when I'm outside. There's just something about sitting outside on a porch during summer nights in a rocking chair while drinking sweet tea out of a mason jar. I have a balcony and the mason jars have already been purchased. Feels like home just thinking about it!

BAZZ chandelier (via Home Depot) - I really want a chandelier for our dining room and this one is gorgeous in person. It's the only lighting that I have been 100% on.

Knapper standing mirror (via Ikea) - I always pick out my outfit the night before. What I love about this mirror is that there is a rack for hanging clothes and hooks for your accessories for that day. Genius!

Malm dressing table (via Ikea) - I love the size and the glass cover. I've given it so much thought as to what I want my next vanity to be, but I keep coming back to this one.

Gluckstein Home frame (via The Bay) - It's just so classic.

Audrey Hepburn canvas (via Ikea) - So overdone in decor, but I don't care. I must have it!

Good Morning Beautiful mug (via Chapters Indigo) - The best way to start a morning is a good cup of coffee or tea in an adorable mug. It's my happy time.

Faux sheepskin rug (via Ikea) - So soft! I have worn my last one out and need a new one. Or a hundred. These little things are fabulous!

Whirlpool Duet washer and dryer (via Leon's) - I've never had a front-load set and it's pretty nerdy how excited I am. The laundry room in the new place is a lot bigger, allowing me to branch out from a stackable combo. Yay!

Whirlpool refrigerator (via Leon's) - I'll just be honest. I'm pretty giddy over all of these items. Starting fresh is exciting! I have never had a French door fridge, but I love the look. I knew I wanted to stick to bottom freezer, as that works best for us. This one won me over with a collapsible shelf area to make room for tall drink items.

Maytag double range (via Leon's) - Starting fresh has allowed me to choose stainless steel and ensuring that everything goes together nicely. I have had my heart set on a double oven for years now and my wish is finally coming true. This will make entertaining for family and friends so much easier! I can't wait to be able to make something like lasagna and garlic bread, knowing that I can bake both at the same time with no issues of temperature or timing. Score!

My 2013 Christmas List!

It's that time of year again! I pulled some of my favorite things off of my main list to share them in this post with all of you. And even if I don't get any of them, they sure are pretty to look at! It may not be that exciting to some because I'm not asking for a lot of fashion and beauty related items. I already got a few things from Old Navy and Sephora recently that are counting towards Christmas. And spoiler alert, I might have gone a little crazy online shopping during Black Friday at both of those places. Posts on those items will be up when they are delivered!

I imagine I'll be getting some holiday shopping done while on vacation this year. We're going away over the holidays, but the destination is still unknown. Quebec City and Washington, DC are at the top of our list. We've been to both, but never during the holiday season and they both have so much to offer. Looking forward to getting away for a few days and not worry about moving and everything!

Currently Wanting: Sephora Wishlist

Ever since I started and finished my last Project 10 Pan, I have not been into a Sephora at all! Mostly because that would have been total torture while on my ban! Now with Christmas around the corner, I'm starting to keep my eyes open on what I might want to add to my list. I love the limited edition sets that come out during the holiday season and this year is no exception. Here are a few things that I want to check out!

I love advent calendars! I never knew about them until I moved to Canada in 2004 and I realize I had been missing out. I do not like chocolate though, so I don't really enjoy the classic ones. Now that companies have started producing luxurious ones with beauty items and whatnot, I'm sold! I am hoping to grab one of these up for this year.

I have gotten the LipSurgence sets for the last two years. They are one of my favorite lip products and the colors are always gorgeous. I like that this year is eight mini ones!

Five full-size blushes! The Amazonian Clay formula is one of the best I've tried. Perfectly pigmented and lasts all day.

Deborah Lippmann Wicked Nail Polish Set - link
While I do love Deborah Lippmann nail polishes already, my main reason for wanting this is Wicked.  I'm obsessed with Wicked! Easily my favorite Broadway play that I've seen yet!

Ole Henriksen Seven Skincare Sensations Set - link
I have not tried Ole Henriksen's products before, but every single review I've read has been positive especially for dry skin. So this might be right up my alley!

Birthday Wishlist!

I guess it has something to do with getting older, but I find each year more difficult than the last to come up with ideas for what to ask and do for my birthday. Christmas is different, because I feel like anything goes. But birthdays? I've never been comfortable asking for a lot of gifts, getting a cake, and especially the singing. I hate being the center of attention more often than not, more so with bigger groups and parties. I was always so happy to have a birthday during the summer, so I did not have to do any of the celebrations at school.

I've managed to put together a small list of what I truly want and what I think I would enjoy. Ok...and maybe a few superficial pretty things to make me happy! I'm not asking for any beauty products though, because I'm still finishing up my Project 10. :)

Nikon AF-S Nikkor 50mm f/1.8G lens- I love taking pictures of flowers and this is perfect!

Moving- I want to find our next home, put ours on the market, and get this move over with.

Puppy- This is the longest I have ever gone without a dog and I'm going crazy without one. If you see me around any dog, you'll understand that this is not an overstatement. They make up a great part of my livelihood. And that's another reason I'm ready for this move so that we can be in a pet-friendly building!

Pandora cupcake charm- Because I love cupcakes and I love Pandora.

Jo Malone English Pear and Freesia cologne- This smells delicious. It's been on my mind for months now. Freesia and pear have always been two of my favorite scents. Put them together and it was love at first smell.

Sam Edelman Gigi sandals- Ah, these scream summer to me!

H&M messenger bag- Love this print and the colors. I can see this easily moving from summer to fall.

Nothing too exciting, but I know each of these things would get used often or be loved tremendously. And hey, if I don't get anything, I'm ok with that too. I've got some great friends and family that will make the day special enough!

Makeup Wishlist!

Granted, this is just a wishlist and all three are so very expensive. These are definitely my top 3 loves right now, though! And if money were no option (shame that it always is!), all of them would have a new home with me! Fingers are crossed to at least get one of the three this year. :)

Beauty & Baggage :  is sparkling with her Models Own Mirrorball collection.
Fashionable Heart : found a red lipstick that might sway those that are terrified to wear red lips!

IMATS Toronto 2012 Wishlist

IMATS Toronto is quickly approaching. I'm so excited! I was chosen to be given a media pass this year, so I am hoping to go both days and take in most of the speakers and booths. I know I am definitely there most of Saturday! As usual, each year I provide my wishlist, any extra tips I may have, pictures from the event, and then follow it all up with my haul and reviews. These do not just apply to the Toronto IMATS, as most of the booths are present in the other locations as well!

Last year, I was able to get everything on my wishlist plus a few extra things. I like to keep my wishlist to a reasonable size and then allow for a few impulse buys. In a big room filled with makeup, I know I will see extra things that I just "have to have" so I allow for it. ;) If you're going to go all out on makeup buys, what better venue to do so than with a bunch of other beauty addicts?!

I love double-ended brushes for traveling! Crown Brushes are among my favorite brands. I have never tried an Embryolisse product, but I have heard nothing but raves for their creams. I swear by my Make Up For Ever Full Cover concealer...there is not a thing it doesn't cover! And OCC Lip Tars always make my list. I do typically migrate toward the pinker shades simply because I know I'll wear them more than the other shades. These are so fantastically pigmented and I cannot wait to see the new packaging in person!

Affordable Spring Clothes Wishlist

I've put myself on a strict budget for the upcoming months, because my fingers are crossed for a Chicago/St. Louis trip for my birthday in July! And I just booked a one-night trip to Niagara Falls for my husband's birthday this month. :) With that said, that's probably why I've been obsessed with making wishlists lately. I have to get my shopping addiction in some form! The best part about the pieces that I am loving below is that they are easy on the wallet. I'm all about chic pieces of clothing that won't break the bank.
