6 Friday Faves for June 2019

I'm trying to do these random favorites posts once a month or every other month where I focus more on the things that aren't necessarily featured in my monthly beauty and skincare favorites. Books, music, etc. I hope you enjoy them and I absolutely love when you throw recommendations my way, as well. It's also just a really fun post to put up on a Friday. So here are my 6 Friday Faves!

My Mother-in-Law's Backyard
It's in its peak season right now. Her lilac trees just blossomed a week or so ago and it's right up there with cherry blossoms for me. It's only a matter of time before the rest of her garden catches up. We enjoy taking Indy over to run in the backyard and getting the breeze off of the lake.

Music
I never did get around to sharing a spring playlist, so maybe I'll put together a summer one. There's so many good new songs out right now (in my opinion, of course)! Taylor Swift didn't impress me fully with ME!, but I am loving You Need to Calm Down. And the Camila and Shawn song Senorita that just came out? Yes, please! And the one that brought me to tears is Freddie Mercury's Time Waits for No One. As a huge Freddie and Queen fan, this hit my emotions hard. It's beautiful.

Books
I shared a few of my recent reads in this post last week. I read a lot, but I've really upped my reading game in recent weeks. Right now, I'm reading a few different books. One in particular is a prequel to The Baby-Sitters Club called The Summer Before. I was reminiscing about summers of my childhood spent reading BSC, Goosebumps, etc. It struck up a nostalgic chord within me and I just needed a fix from my childhood, so imagine my surprise when I saw this prequel! It has me going down a rabbit hole and I kind of want to reread a few more from my childhood. Were you a BSC fan? To see more of what I'm reading, I update my GoodReads page as I go.

Bob's Burgers
This isn't new. I've been obsessed since day 1! It's just one of those shows that we watch over and over and it never gets old. I sing all of the songs and know most of the lines to every episode by now. It's even more prominent now that we've entered the summer season of television. Lots and lots of Bob's Burgers reruns are in our future. The only thing that could make that better is if Netflix Canada would bring it back! If you watch, which character is your favorite? I'm a mix between Linda and Louise, but more Louise for sure.

Summery Scents
I had summer on the mind when I picked up these Bath & Body Works anti-bacterial hands gels and the adorable holder. I guess it's being a southern girl and it is embedded in our very souls but the minute I'm in hot weather, I want peach everything. I knew I liked their mango scents, so I grabbed that one. The papaya one was new to me, but it's the one I'm currently using and it is so light and fresh.

Sandal Season
When I was back home, I bought three new pairs. I really needed some, because I don't think I bought a single pair last year so all of my pairs were two years or older. I don't believe in spending that much on sandals, because they just don't last that long. At least not for me. I grabbed one pair at Walmart and two from Target. Let me tell you how divine this pair is from Target. I got the white pair and I am still kicking myself for not also getting the black ones. And if I could get back to a Target, I'd buy a pair in every color they offered if they had my size in stock.

With my knee injury, I really have to look at shoes carefully and how they will wear for even just hours and not full days. These are light as air, molded footbeds, easy to size to your foot, and feel comfortable all day long. True to size and no issue for my wider feet. They are made of plastic, so maybe don't wear them on super hot days. They go with everything and I just love them so much. Why why WHYYYY did I not get another pair? This will haunt me for a while. LOL!
