Good riddance, 2008!

Currently listening: We Will Rock You OBC
Currently thinking: still have no idea what to do tonight
Currently feeling: lazzzzzy

Belated Christmas gifts! :) I'm spoiled, what can I say?!

extra Wii nunchuk, The Simpsons seasons 7-10, The OC season 3, One Tree Hill seasons 2-5, NHL 2K9 Wii game

Listography book! I'm a huge fan of the site. It's a book full of lists to keep track of things. I love it! Sample lists include: pets you've had in your life, favorite bands, jobs you've had, etc. My OCD is in overload. :)

I hope everyone has a wonderful New Year's Eve! I am looking forward to 2009. May it be way better than 2008 was. I could use a good year! Please party and celebrate safely.

Transforming Tuesday

Currently watching: hockey game
Currently wondering: what to do for New Year's Eve
Currently feeling: cooooold...brrrrrr...

Time for a review of one of the products I got for Christmas. I love Urban Decay cosmetics. They can do no wrong for most of their products.

Urban Decay Eyeshadow Transforming Potion

What this consists of is two ends- one with a thick brush and one with a thin brush. Both dip into the liquid. You choose which end you prefer, which I tend to choose the thick more often than not. Then, you rub it in your powder eyeshadow and it makes it into liquid eyeliner! Just think of how much money you can save with this one product! You can use your eyeshadows with this and have any color you want each day. I like using my eyeshadow colors that have glitter in them around this time of year. I like to be glitzy during the holidays. :)

So in the long run, I do recommend this. I'm going to have a lot of fun experimenting to see which of my eyeshadows look better than the others. LOVE!

Merry Christmas To Me!

Currently out: downtown all day doing some shopping and get-togethers
Currently hoping: to find a nice cheap trip for Dominican
Currently feeling: tired...I've been waking up early and going to bed late for the past week

So, I thought I would post my Christmas swag! I had to wait because we were still celebrating as of Saturday night. :) We were supposed to be cutting back this year. I got a lot of things that I had been wanting!

- 1 yr. subscription to LiveJournal

-HP digital frame, Juicy Couture school set (I'm not in school...just addicted to office supplies and technically got in November, but meant for Christmas!), $25 Old Navy giftcard, 2 movie gift certificates (good for a movie, popcorn, and two drinks each), Tales of Beedle the Bard Collector's Edition, Vanilla Fields perfume set, pink beret that my mother-in-law knitted for me, Sex and the City wedding collection, Marie Claire, Life & Style, In Touch, Wii Music, Horton Hears a Who!, Golden Compass, The OC season 2

- close-up of the HP digital frame. It's pretty fun!

There might be a few other things, but they escape me at the moment. I had a lovely time downtown with my husband for Christmas, which was perfect. I got lunch at my favorite Japanese restaurant, saw Four Christmases, and ran around here and there looking at Christmas decorations. :)

Fashionable Heart

ATTENTION! :) You can now get to my blog two ways!

1. http://ordinarysuperstar.blogspot.com -old way

or

2. www.fashionableheart.com -new way

That's right! I now have a domain for here. It was an early Christmas present. Whoohoo!

XOXO

P.S.- I won't be updating at least for tomorrow and Thursday, which should be fine since you will probably all be busy as well. I have plans to go downtown, stay in a swanky hotel, eat the finest of dinners, stroll the lit streets, and just be side-by-side with my honey. Feel free to tell me what you are doing/what you did for Christmas! I'd love to hear. :)

Tacky Tuesday

Currently listening: Christmas Tree by Lady GaGa
Currently watching: The Hills!
Currently feeling: tired from a day of shopping!

This post brings back the tacky Tuesday! Did anyone else watch the finale of The Hills? Holy smokes! I know this show is under scrutiny for being fake, scripted, blah blah blah...I don't care. I'm hooked! First off, I'm still getting over the last episode that saw Heidi and Spencer getting fake married. Yeah, nothing like getting your bride-to-be drunk and schmoozing her to the altar. CLASSY! :P

Even funnier watching Heidi talking to her mom and seeing Spencer sitting there so silent. What a change! And Heidi swears she is happy and yet she has not smiled at all since the day it happened. Though to be fair, I would not be smiling either if I were marrying Spencer. Nooo...I'd get myself on medication for being crazy if that were to happen.

Lauren and Heidi? A reunion? Lauren said some really sweet things to Heidi. That whole scene was awkward, and it seemed to really show a true side to Heidi. Not the Heidi that poses in all of those super-corny photo shoots, but the Heidi that she used to be. I forgot how I actually used to like her. Too much damage has been done for me to really ever like her again, but for a moment I remembered that she was not so bad before she become a mini-Spencer clone.

I love that Heidi's mom and sister is in more episodes. I adore them and how they tell Spencer how it is. Sometimes Holly is too sweet, though! Even Stephanie spoke up to him this time. Good job, Steph! I actually even give Spencer some props for saying what he did at the court ceremony. Did I just say that?! Can't wait for more Hills and The City! I love Whitney!

Freaky Friday

Currently listening: O Holy Night by Kelly Clarkson
Currently watching: snow falling outside my window
Currently feeling: like I am forgetting to do something

Lily went out in this monstrosity to a business meeting! A sheer shirt with a bit of fabric barely covering her chest. The only business meeting it looks like she is attending is one to meet up with her pimp. Seriously, who would wear this to a serious business get-together?

3. Blue Christmas- Bright Eyes
4. My Only Wish (This Year)- Britney Spears
5. Santa Baby- Eartha Kitt

7. Santa Claus Lane- Hilary Duff
8. Believe- Josh Groban
9. O Holy Night- Kelly Clarkson

12. Wintersong- Sarah McLachlan
13. Carol of the Bells- Trans-Siberian Orchestra
14. Last Christmas- Wham!
15. Baby, It's Cold Outside- Zooey Deschanel and Leon Redbone

I am one of those annoying people that could listen to Christmas songs pretty much year-round. I love them! I love finding new ones that I did not know about or hearing a not-so-well-known artist singing one. So if you have one that you absolutely love, please tell me so I can try it out!

Wintry Wednesday

Currently listening: to my "angry songs" playlist on iTunes
Currently looking at: vacation info
Currently feeling: mixed emotions

It came a snow storm last night. We had not had snow on the ground for a few days. It really came down! I woke up to a winter wonderland! I love snow. :)

The holidays are coming! My favorite classic Christmas movie is It's A Wonderful Life. I love the message that it conveys and I never once don't end that film without feeling grateful for everything this life offers. It makes me warm inside.

As for newer movies, I would choose Elf, Santa Clause series, and The Polar Express. Christmas movies and tv specials are probably my favorite thing EVER to watch! I won't talk about my favorite Christmas tv specials, because it's hard to choose just one! :D
What is your favorite classic Christmas movie?

XOXO

P.S.- I'm so happy Michelle won on Biggest Loser! Seriously, she was the only decent one. Worst final four ever!

Ruby Tuesday

Currently listening: Circus (album) by Britney Spears
Currently waiting: to go out and look at Christmas lights tonight!
Currently feeling: stressed about trying to find a last-minute holiday trip

It's pretty much a hidden secret that my favorite store to find a bargain is Old Navy. Ok ok...It's not hidden at all! I rarely go in that store and not find anything. I seem to always come out with a purchase, which is why I'm often banned from going in there at all. :P So here is a few of the items I have gotten in the last month!

1. Hollyhock v-neck sweater
2. lightweight hoodie in Pacifica
3. navy faux fur hoodie
4. chenille hoodie, only I got the hollyhock color not the white
5. bear love capri pants

1. cyclamen mittens
2. red fleece pants
3. mustard v-neck pocket tee
4. multi-colored v-neck sweater

And all of it is beyond comfy! Those mittens are very warm and convenient since they fold back to allow the fingers to be free. The chenille hoodie is amazingly soft and cozy. With all the shopping I do...believe it or not...I actually needed more sweaters and cold-weather things. I always think I have enough but these Canadian winters always prove me wrong. With all of the layering, you go through your clothes fast during the weeks. I love the layering and cold weather, though!

Fab Friday

Currently reading: January's Glamour...see below!
Currently eating: Greek salad and a veggie wrap
Currently feeling: tired...just can't seem to wake up!

I bought the January Glamour last night. Glamour is one of my favorite magazines to read! The new cover makes it even more amazing. I think this is the best picture I have seen of Britney Spears in a long time. Girl is looking gorgeous! This makes me ten times more excited to be seeing her for the first time in March. :)

Thursday Treats

Currently doing: working on Christmas cards
Currently thinking: about what to wear out tonight
Currently feeling: yucky...lovely sinus headache

Holiday drinks (and red cups too!!!) are back at Starbucks and that never fails to bring a smile to my face and make my tastebuds tremble! I probably drink more coffee at Starbucks during November and December than I do during the whole other ten months combined. :)

I love the gingerbread, eggnog, and pumpkin spice lattes! Though I do not like eggnog, there is something about the eggnog lattes that keeps me coming back for more.

So tell me, what is your favorite Starbucks holiday drink?

Wonderful Wednesday

Currently watching: Rachael Ray Show...Tom Jonessssss!
Currently thinking: how on earth people curl their hair with flat irons! I just spent 30 min. trying to do it and failed miserably :(
Currently feeling: too lazy to get up and cook dinner

So I saw Twilight yesterday! It was momentous in that it was my first movie I have ever seen alone. It truly is not as awkward as being at a concert by yourself. There was another girl who was in front of me at the ticket booth and then sat behind me in the theatre. I felt connected to her in our solitary movie outtings. :) And here is my review:

I thought I would die when I found out I would have to wait for Harry Potter until next year, but then I had heard good things about the Twilight series so it softened the blow. I have yet to read the books. However, I do own the first one which I do intend to read soon. I meant to read it before I saw the movie, but ran out of time! It's better this way, though. I went into the movie with no expectations and had nothing to try to compare it to...though Moonlight (tv series) came to mind!

First off, what on earth was wrong with Bella's makeup? They made her look so tired all the time. And yet they showed bedroom and sleeping scenes! I'm not on the Robert-is-so-hot train either. I'll go ahead and state that. I did get the chemistry between Edward and Bella. It was a well put-together cast and I absolutely adored the role of Bella's father.

I found the movie to be a bit slow-paced, but once action picked up it became better. It did take me awhile to get into the story because of that. All-in-all, it was a pretty good movie that ended up looking a bit low budget. I do think that will change as they work on the sequel! I liked it enough to see the next one, but in my eyes...it is no Harry Potter.

Terrific Tuesday

Currently watching: Biggest Loser...worst final four ever. Can't stand the whole blue team. Except for Bob, that is. :)
Currently thinking: of applying for a job at Old Navy
Currently feeling: tired from a full day!

So today I went to the mall. I saw my first movie by myself...not as awkward as I thought it would be! I saw Twilight, which I will review later this week. Afterward, I did a bit of shopping. The best part? I got my eyebrows waxed. Outside of shopping here and there and Yoga/Pilates, I rarely pamper myself.

You know what I realize? I should do it more often! We all should. Be it a haircut, a pedicure, an eyebrow wax, etc. We deserve to do a little something for ourselves at times. In this crazy world, we sometimes lose ourselves and get more concerned about everything else going on. We need to take a day every now and then and spend some "me time" with ourselves. So tell me, how do you love to pamper yourself? What does your "me time" consist of?

Monday Mania

Currently reading: Vogue with Jen Aniston on the cover
Currently procrastinating: getting up and putting the chili in the crockpot
Currently feeling: sick...stupid sinus infection

First off, my hiatus was long. I did get back last Tuesday, but it took forever to get caught up on things like email and such. I was home for a little over a week. In that time: I shopped, ate yummy food that I missed terribly, spent time with friends and family, took in Reba and Kelly Clarkson, saw the Trans-Siberian Orchestra, and finally got to bond with my brother. The trip had its drama (as always) but it was good to spend some time at home and be there for something other than a funeral.

Anyway, I gave the blog a bit of a facelift. I love Natalie, but I wanted a change. I think this picture of Mary-Kate Olsen from Vogue Italia is absolutely gorgeous. So there we have it! :) I'll make a post in the next few days with pictures of what I bought while back home. For now I want to share my Christmas list!
