Starbucks!

Currently watching: Diners, Drive-Ins, and Dives
Currently drinking: Starbucks Passion Tea w/ 3 shots of Classic
Currently feeling: happy

So I'm sitting here as happy as can be as I drink my yummy Passion Tea. I really loved it with melon, but that's been discontinued. Booooooo! The Passion Tea is my latest obsession as I just recently tried it for the first time. I'm on this kick to try new drinks from there and stray away from my favorites so that I don't get tired of them. My favorite drink there is a caramel macchiato iced or hot.

So tell me your favorite drink at Starbucks that I should try! And by that, I mean even tell me which syrup you get and everything. My obsession keeps going and growing and the wallet keeps shrinking and shrinking. :P

Ok, so I found this amazing site. It has become a huge boredom buster for me. It's called Poladroid and you download the program to your computer. You just download, install, and drag and drop photos. It's very easy and simple. The pictures come out looking like little Polaroid photographs. You can even shake it on your desktop to make it finish developing faster! Below is one I made of Blair Waldorf from Gossip Girl. I'm going to have a lot more fun with this. :)

So I was online shopping on Alloy, because I desperately needed two new pairs of jeans. And I found these bad boys! They offer them in the colors pictured and in a faded pattern. I can't believe anyone would buy these pants and wear them except for maybe Tacky Day during School Spirit Week. These are just awful...Honestly, I've never seen something so bad on the Alloy site. :/

And for those that are curious, I only order my jeans from Alloy. I only wear Paris Blues and Alloy always has them in stock. I've had great luck with them and they fit just right. So often you buy jeans hoping they will fit in all the right places, and these do that! I have had one pair for four months and there have been no shredding at the hem, rips, stretching, or anything. The best part? They are only $30-35! Brilliant!

So I just got my latest order from Forever 21! I would show the stock images for the two floral headbands I purchased, but I can't find them on the site right now. Besides the two headbands, I got this really cute beret, scarf, and bow hair clips. :)

Mustard beret. I paid C$6.50! I believe it's selling for US$5.50. Amazing!

Cream bow hair clips. I can't help that I am a sucker for bows. These are so cute and are selling for $1.80 in both currencies.

Reversible heart printed scarf. It's on final clearance at $4.99 in both currencies. And it's super cute on!

Ok...so Joaquin has left me scratching my head. However, this has left me nearly blind. Someone needs to tell Madonna how old she is and what exactly she can get away with. Actually, someone needs to tell her that no one can get away with this. Yikes!

This picture is from one of her Hard Candy outtakes. I can see why it was an outtake. No one wants to lose the meal they just finished putting into their mouths.

Makeup Monday

Currently listening: Poker Face by Lady GaGa
Currently working: on a batch of graphics
Currently feeling: bored

I meant to do this two weeks ago, but I have the tendency to procrastinate. And so you get this post a little late. It's still relevant, though...I promise! I tried a few new makeup products in 2008 and stuck to many of my favorites even after trying the new ones. Here is a mixture of new finds and my constant go-to cosmetics.

1.Sephora Makeup Eraser. I reviewed it here.
2. Nars blush. My personal favorite is Orgasm and I reviewed it here.
3. Urban Decay Transforming Potion. I reviewed it here.
4. Benefit BADgal Lash Mascara. I reviewed it here.
5. Almay Liquid Eyeliner. I get it in black and I'm normally a liquid eyeliner clutz, but this handle is easy to hold and I've had no problems with it.
6. DiorKiss lipgloss. I like the applicator and it gives just the right amount of color and shine.
7. Urban Decay Deluxe Eyeshadow. I love the colors they offer in this line. And you control how deep the color is by how many layers you apply. Layering it on top of my Eyeshadow Primer, it goes on smoothly and there is no fading during the day.
8. Rosebud Salve. I reviewed it here.
9. CoverGirl Perfect Point Eyeliner. I've been buying this brand since high school. My eyes are sensitive and this is the only solid eyeliner that goes on smoothly with no problems. I also like the smudging brush that is offered on the tip.
10. Urban Decay Eyeshadow Primer. I thought I had reviewed this once on my site already, but I could not find it. This is a necessity in everyone's makeup bag. HONESTLY! If you wear eyeshadow, please invest in some quality eyeshadow primer. There are other brands, but I really like Urban Decay's. You dab this on before you apply your eyeshadow. It causes the shadow to go on smoothly, prevents fading and creasing..and it provides a canvas that allows the shadow to be as vibrant as it should be.

Juicy Couture's Viva La Juicy To Go

This is a purse-size version of their newest perfume. I got mine for Christmas from Sephora. I've gotta say that it smells really good! It's nice fruity smell. It's much like With Love by Hilary Duff. So if you like that one, you'll love this scent. The size is perfect and fits easily into my Coach wristlet for touch-ups during the day. It's a rollerball so it is easy to control how much you put on. And for around $16, it's a great deal!

Baby, It's Fashion! Part Deux

Currently listening: Circus by Britney Spears
Currently reading: Twilight
Currently feeling: cold

Last year I did my own version of a "Mr. Blackwell" list (located here). And sadly, this will be the first year since the 60s that there will not be a list. So I have decided to compile another list again like last year. It's been exactly a year today! I'm mixing it up this time by offering 5 best and 5 worst instead of just doing 10 worst. :)

Top 5 Worst Dressed Celebs in 2008 (no particular order):

1. Mary-Kate Olsen- She is always a hit or a miss. I can never quite figure out what she is going to do next. I love when she goes classic, but she more often goes for a grunge look.

2. Oprah- We get it. You gained the weight back. Been there and done that! However, at this point you should have a better idea of how to dress for your shape. Stop wearing ill-fitting outfits or colors that don't work for you.

3. Tilda Swinton- This dress looked like a Hefty trash bag. And none of her other looks are any better. I admire the androgynous side of her, but that does not mean you should forget style.

4. Madonna- At this point, I'm never surprised at the ensembles that she chooses.

5. Britney Spears- To be fair, she is kind of in between my lists of good and bad. Earlier last year was bad for her, fashion (and personal) wise. By the end of 2008, she was looking pretty fantastic at the MTV Awards and doing promotional stops for Circus.

Top 5 Best Dressed Celebs in 2008 (no particular order):

1. Gwyneth Paltrow- Holy smokes! She was rockin' those beautiful legs every chance she got!

2. Rachel Bilson- She has that wonderful casual chic look about her. I love pretty much everything she chooses to wear.

3. Anne Hathaway- While having a few misses, she had more hits. She always rocks the elegant gowns!

4. Eva Mendes- How playful and fun she was towards fashion in 2008!

5. Natalie Portman- She should wear Lanvin more often. Actually, she should wear purple more often too!

Honorable Mentions for Best Dressed:

Nicole Richie- Having a baby was good for her! She sobered up, became more mature, and really calmed down. And she started dressing so classy, while not diminishing who she is.

Blake Lively- This girl has looks! It's amazing to see how much style she has on and off the Gossip Girl sets.

Golden Globes

Currently watching: Gossip Girl
Currently reading: Twilight
Currently feeling: full from dinner

Sunday was the Golden Globe Awards. As always, there were a few hits and misses. I thought I would share a few that I liked and ones that had me scratching my head!

Best Dressed:

Beyonce- this look is great! She usually goes way too glittery, but this is perfect for her. It shows off her body and it does so in a classy way.

Debra Messing- The color of the dress works perfectly with her skin tone and hair color.

Demi Moore- Nothing negative to say. I only wish that I can age as gracefully as she does!

Anne Hathaway- This is definitely better than the dress I showed you in the last post. This is beautiful!

Hayden Panettiere- The color! It's amazing. Her makeup is perfect and I love the old-school glamour vibe that this look creates.

Kate Winslet and Leonardo DiCaprio- This is one good lookin' duo!

Miley Cyrus- This dress is light and carefree and matches the teenager wearing it. I like that it does not age her.

Olivia Wilde- This is so floaty...in a good way. I adore the shade of lilac and the fluttery layers. I want it!

Worst Dressed:

Renee Zellweger- I don't like that the top part is sheer with a tan bodice. I also can't understand why she allowed her hairstylist to do that to her for the Red Carpet. Maybe for the gym...

Jennifer Lopez- Why do you always insist on wearing low-cut gowns? We get it. You have a nice body even after having twins. You know what you don't get? That we've seen it all before and you should have stopped doing this five years ago.

Maggie Gyllenhaal- I feel the need to go on a safari. I don't think this is elegant in the slightest.

Marisa Tomei- My first thought? Remember when Marisa did an episode of Seinfeld? Well, I was wondering if she went back on set and stole the puffy white pirate shirt!

Mickey Rourke- This is just a don't.

Drew Barrymore- I had no problem with what she was wearing. My problem is this hair. Did she just spray it with a can of hairspray and then ride a rollercoaster? I understand that volume is a big trend in hair these days, but this is outrageous.

Anne Hathaway wore this to the VH1 Critics Choice Awards. While I normally love what she wears and find her to have grown into a very sophisticated style, I just can't fathom why she chose this dress. The black part looks fine but then the designer decided to add a sheet to half of it. It looks like a toga gone wrong. Every other part of this is fine. Her hair, makeup, and accessories are great. If she had ripped off the white and made it less Cruella DeVil looking, she'd have a hot look instead of a hot mess. :/

Teddy Bear Thursday!

Currently finished: an impromptu karaoke session in my living room

Ok...so I wish I could afford to own one of these! At the price, I cannot even afford to look at it. It's being sold at around $1,400 USD. On top of that, they only made 2,500 of them. So what is it that costs so much and is so rare? A Karl Lagerfeld teddy bear, of course! Definitely the most fashionable and iconic bear on the block!

TV Tuesday

Currently wanting: to kill my computer
Currently drinking: water
Currently feeling: stupid

So it's been one of those days...and it is not getting any better. I just lost all of my music from iTunes. Not from my computer, but from iTunes. It is just so annoying to have to go back and put all of the music back in. I lost all of my play counts and playlists too. Bahhh! Scratch that! I just lost everything AGAIN!

Anyway, I am so happy that the holidays are over because that means TV shows are finally coming back! Tonight, I have Biggest Loser, 90210, Privileged, SVU, and Without a Trace to look forward to. Last night was new episodes of Gossip Girl and One Tree Hill. Yay!

I'm terribly sorry that this is all I have for today. My mood just went south with this whole iTunes thing. I leave you with this hilarious music video from How I Met Your Mother. I don't even watch the show, but I find this hilarious. :)

Media Monday

Currently looking: for inspiration everywhere!
Currently worried: about my cousin who was in a bad wreck
Currently feeling: sad. I woke up this morning with a heavy heart.

I hope a lot of you have the iPod Touch! I hope this because there is a reason that Apple says it's the funnest iPod ever. It really is! I have been attached to mine ever since I got the thing a few months ago. I take it to bed with me at night so I can play games on it until I fall asleep. Trust me...it really does help make me tired. Also this contraption has saved me major moola in not having to buy extremely expensive games for my cell phones. So I thought I would share some of my favorite applications that I keep going back to. :)

My Favorite iPod Apps (So Far!):
Paid:
Zenbe lists (which I got while it was free) - perfect for a listmaker like myself
wurdle - much like Boggle
Fuzzle - a fun game where you match colors in rows of five
Bejeweled 2 - the classic game of matching
Tetravex - a game that involves matching colors (I sense a theme going on here! :D)
Tangram Pro (which I also got while it was free) - you have to fit shapes into an outline of a picture
Lock 'n Roll (which is free for a limited time right now...GET IT!) - a dice game

Free:
Dots Free - the old game of making boxes and claiming them with your initial
Stanza - free books on your iPod!
Wordle - like Jumble
Dactyl - touch bombs before they go off
Aurora Feint Beginning - much like Bejeweled, only better

Every year I try to make resolutions that are actually achievable. And I find that I indeed do actually achieve them! I'll share my list of this year's resolutions. These five always make my list, as I enjoy fulfilling them. I do add others, but these are my go-to ones. What is on your list of resolutions?

New Year's Resolutions:

1. try 10 new restaurants
2. visit five new cities
3. try at least three new foods
4. see at least 25 new (to me) movies
5. face a fear
