Some of these posts I'm just really proud of and want to share again and some were the ones with the most views. I just want to thank you for reading my blog and making these last ten years feel like I'm not always just talking to myself. Which I happen to do...a lot...on a daily basis. 2017 on a general basis kind of sucked, but it was pretty darn good here on the blog.
I also thought about doing a 2018 Goals post and I might do it. Not sure yet, because goals can sometimes feel so personal. And Lord knows I've been judged on mine before, which is not something I am okay with. Get out there, make your goals, and try your best to reach them. Even if they are silly. Even if they are a long shot. Just TRY and you're already doing something that not everyone else bothers to do. I'm rooting for you!
I'm excited to see where 2018 takes me, my blog, and YOU. I still have two more 2017 posts coming: What I Got for Christmas and Favorite Products of 2017. And then, I can focus solely on 2018! Now let's jump in and see a few posts from Fashionable Heart in the last year. :)

Six of My Favorite Eyebrow Products
I hinted that I was going to put together a post on my current favorite eyebrow products. I am one of those people who ignored my eyebrows for so long. Then, I got into waxing. Then, I got into the natural-but-full look which is where I am right now. Eyebrows are an important factor on our face, but I really hate spending too much time on them. I find all six of these to be quite effortless. Effortless enough to get someone lazy like me not to want to skip this step!
Some of these are new to my collection over the last few months, but some I've sworn by for months and even years. I'd love to hear what you use! Or what is your favorite method? I switch it up, as you can see below.

April 2017 Favorites
We're almost at May! There must be some truth to the April showers this year, because Toronto is finally showing some signs of green and blooms. Unlike last year, the cherry blossoms have made an appearance this year. And as I look out my window, there is a little bit of green on the trees. I love winter, but I don't mind spring. I get along just fine with the days where the temps stay below 80F, it's those hotter days that are my mortal enemy. I just wasn't made for heat. I'm aware that sounds crazy for a person from southern USA to say. Blasphemy to some of my readers ears, I'm sure!
I have a few of my beauty favorites from April to share today. And I'd love to hear what you've been loving recently. There's so many pretty spring releases coming out that I almost fear opening up my Sephora app on my phone. #weakness
- Chanel Glossimer in 144 Rose Dilemma - It pains me that this line has been discontinued just recently, but apparently the new Rouge Coco lipgloss is supposed to be even better. The packaging looks identical, but the applicator and formula has changed. Not sure about the shades completely changing, but 728 Rose Pulpe looks similar online to Rose Dilemma.
- ColourPop Supermodel Super Shock Shadow - Such a perfect base color and great for light and bright spring looks.
- Benefit They're Real Mascara - Always a winner. I'm just finishing this one up to try the new Rimmel mascara that Influenster just sent me.
- Arbonne Shape It Up Brow Pencil - I have the medium shade and it is pretty foolproof. The spoolie on one end is an added bonus.
- ELF Contour Palette - Still love this. I really want to get my hand on some of the other ones.

InstaMonth for March 2017
It's a rainy day here in Toronto and it is unconducive for my photography plans. April showers strike again! To be fair, Sunday was pretty sunny and hit 60F here. I could have taken pictures then, but it was Sunday. I chose to do a family walk with my husband and dog instead. No regrets!
I'm still stressing out over my phone plan and possibly switching carriers. I have been with Telus for eleven years and it just keeps getting worse when it comes to contract renewal. After being told they would offer me nothing, I'm shopping my options. We pay more for less here. Prices for the phones, data, etc. all go up. I understand there is a lot of less populated areas here, but that really is a shoddy excuse (see this article). Money, money, money is what they should really say when asked about high cell phone plans. That sounds much more truthful. Maybe I'll stay with Telus. I don't know yet. I'm going wherever the best deal is. What I can say is that this has caused many headaches. #adulting
Anyway, here are a few pictures from my Instagram last month!

March 2017 Faves (& Giveaway Reminder)
March has almost come and gone. Last weekend was our wedding anniversary and we enjoyed a little two night getaway and it was just what I needed. It was our first vacation in a year, so we both felt overdue for one. I'm working on a post about our hotel and trip to go up next week.
After spending the last few days stressing over which phone, plan, and provider to go with, I wish I could hit rewind and pop myself back into our hotel room. Canadian phone plans are not my cup of tea and the prices are ugly. I'm nowhere closer to choosing a plan or provider (thinking of leaving Telus after 11 years), but I'm pretty torn on the iPhone 7+ or Samsung S8+. Have you seen the S8? Talk about a gorgeous phone! But I've been on an iPhone for four years now, so I'm used to it and everything is easy to transfer. Decisions!
Feel free to tell me if you're team Android or Apple in the comments and why. I like both- I also have an Android tablet, so I'm familiar! Anyway, here's this month's favorites!
- Smashbox Blush Rush in Flush - I don't think I've given this its own blog post, but I do have a swatch here. I rediscovered this in my stash. It's so gorgeous and I just always forget about it. It produces such a beautiful glow.
- Arbonne Shape It Up Brow Pencil - Perfect for beginners and has a convenient spoolie on one end! Super easy to work with.
- ColourPop Super Shock Shadow in Summer Lovin' - If and when they bring this back, get it. I don't think you'll regret it for a second.
- ColourPop Ultra Matte Lip in Times Square - A really great nude that I think would suit a lot of people.
- Essie Turquoise and Caicos - Some bottles seem to be more vibrant, but mine has always been a little more subdued. And I like it that way! The minute spring comes, I crave pastels.

Arbonne Eyebrow Products: Gel, Pencil, and Cream
I love a good eyebrow product and I don't discriminate on price points or types. Powders, gels, creams, pencils. Drugstore or high end. I'll take 'em! I spent many years not giving my eyebrows any attention, so maybe I am making up for lost time. I still don't like to pluck or wax (sometimes on rare occasions), but I love to enhance the natural shape and fill in sparse areas. It's all about personal preference, as is the type of products you prefer to use to enhance your brows.
In this post, I'll talk about three Arbonne brow products. There's the Shape It Up brow pencil, Shape It Up tinted brow cream, and a clear eyebrow gel. The shades in the Shape It Up that I have are both in Medium. Here's my two cents about the products and swatches!

Arbonne Currant Lipstick and Pomegranate Lip Liner
Are you looking for the perfect red lip or lip liner? These might be just what you are looking for. In this post, I'm talking about the Smoothed Over lipstick in Currant and the lip liner in Pomegranate. If you're in the group that thinks nothing beats a classic red lip, these should be right up your alley. And they will certainly add a pop to these dreary winter days!
Keep reading to read my thoughts and see swatches of Currant and Pomegranate.

InstaMonth: February 2017 (ft. Old Navy and Valentine's Day Items)
Time for the post where I share some of my favorite pictures from my Instagram over the course of the past month. As always, I would love for us to follow each other. You can find me as "wendybanner" and I post six times a week. I post a mixture of beauty, fashion, lifestyle, and quotes (big Motivation Monday fan!).
I normally try to give an update on my knee in these posts and don't think I have in a while. There's just not much to update on. I still can't get it fully straight BUT I did get it slightly straighter. Bending it is still also a big issue. I'm working on standing longer and going further without relying on my cane. Stamina and strength is a real you-know-what to get back. You don't realize how much you depend on your knee's extension and flexion until you can't do much of either. But honestly, it affects everything you do with your legs.
I'm still going to physio and my therapist enjoys (a little too much) throwing difficult tasks my way. The best part is when he brings something out that I once had a hard time doing and breeze through it. I don't always see my progress because it is so gradual (and painstakingly slow at times), but it feels so good when that happens. That all of this hard work is paying off and any amount of improvement IS improvement.
It's so easy to focus on negatives, isn't it? But sometimes you just need to pat yourself on the back and give yourself some appreciation and love!
4. When in doubt, make out. // 5. ColourPop Party Trick set. // 6. Old Navy haul. (chambray, weekend tee, floral sweatshirt, leggings)
7. Pamper session with the new Legendary Olive Whole Blends set. // 8. ColourPop x NKLA // 9. My wintry view.
10. New from Arbonne. Coming up next week! // 11. The cutest lip balms. // 12. My Valentine purse set. (purse, wallet)

January 2017 Favorites
The first favorites post of the year is always exciting! I'm getting this up a little earlier than I normally would, but only because I have some great posts planned for next week! I've got a case of the "Fridays" today and it's hard to find the drive to do anything, as I'm just soooo ready for the weekend! Well, maybe not super ready as I have physio tomorrow and that always knocks me on my butt- in a good way, of course. Even if I am a zombie when my PT is done with me! Oh heck, I'm practically a zombie before I go in too...Saturday morning sessions, man.
Here's my favorites from this month! And as always, I'd love to hear about anything that you're loving. Hope you have a great weekend!
- Arbonne Shea Butter Hand Lotion - This apricot vanilla scent, though. Yum! And the Shea butter keeps my hands super soft.
- ColourPop Cosmetics Supermodel Shadow - My go-to base color right now.
- Tarte Amazonian Butter Golden Pink Lipstick - Works perfectly for me as an everyday shade.
- Cocoon Apothecary Ancient Mud Mask - Reviewing this next week! I am loving this face mask.
- Olay Regenerist Facial Oil - I know facial oils are all the rage right now, but I can't afford (and/or won't stomach paying that much) a good lot of them. This is a great drugstore alternative and it's working great with my foundation routine. I definitely notice a difference! Full review still to come.

2016 Beauty Favorites
Do you know how hard it is to narrow down the amount of beauty items that are the dearest to your heart within a year's time? Hard. Super hard. I've managed to get the number down to 12, but there are definitely some good products left out. But honestly, you can get a good idea of the items in my collection that get the most love by viewing my monthly favorites. That's partly how I determine what gets listed here- what got featured and used the most.
So let's see what products had me swooning this year! There's a few tried and trues and a few that were new to me this year. If you've done one of these round-ups, let me know!

December 2016 Favorites
I hope you all had a great holiday weekend! And another one is just around the corner! This is the last of my scheduled posts during my break. I should be back to blogging early next week with my Christmas gifts, overall favorites of 2016, and all of that jazz. I know I'll have a lot of catching up to do with reading and commenting on your blogs!
Here are my favorites from December. I'm pretty sure you can see a trend going on here. Rosy eyes, glowing cheeks, and red lips. That is my no-fail holiday look! It's probably everyone's look, but hey, it's classic for a reason.
- Arbonne Sheer Glow Highlighter in Pearl - A really easy highlighter to work with. Loving the stick formulas lately!
- ColourPop Cosmetics Shadow in Wattles - This pairs so nicely with the Naked 3.
- Urban Decay Naked 3 - Never fails that I crave this palette around the holiday season.
- NYX Plush Red Lip Pencil - My favorite red lip liner.
- Arbonne Cardinal Glossed Over - This works well with the NYX liner for a "not-too-red" red lip.
- Demeter Gingerbread Fragrance -Christmas in a bottle. I kid you not. Just like gingerbread!

Arbonne Holiday 2016: Sheer Glow Highlight Stick Duo and Apricot Vanilla Hand Lotion
Some of you guys have probably already been seeing the Arbonne holiday collection popping up on social media and other blogs. They really stepped up their game with this year's collection. The packaging is festive and what I have tried (featured in this post) is fantastic.
In today's post, I'll be showing and talking about the Sheer Glow Highlight Duo and the Apricot Vanilla Hand Lotion!
If there is one thing to know about me when it comes to skin, it is that I am a Shea butter addict. If it says Shea butter, chances are I am grabbing it and trying it out! But oddly, I was attracted more to the name of the scent before that this time. Apricot Vanilla Hand Lotion. Yes, please. And let me tell you, the scent does not disappoint. When I am wearing this, I can't stop smelling my hands. I become a weird girl walking around with her fingers to her nose. Perfectly fine hand cream that moisturizes nicely, but the scent truly sells it. Perfect for a stocking stuffer!
Next is the Sheer Glow Highlight Stick Duo. I have already talked about how much I love the tube version of the Sheer Glow Highlight. This time it is in a solid stick formula and comes in the shades Bronze and Pearl. I have dry skin and these go on smoothly and blend easily. I prefer Pearl to Bronze, because that one requires a little more work with my pale skin. These also have Shea butter as an ingredient. I love the convenience of a stick, because it's easy enough to swipe across what you want highlighted or bronzed. They layer over foundations and blushes without making a mess of your hard work. Big fan!
Really happy with both the hand lotion and highlight duo! Arbonne has a lot to offer in their new holiday collection! And to see any of the past Arbonne products that I have tried, click the "Arbonne" label on the post. If you have tried these, let me know! Are you loving stick highlighters as much as I am right now?!

November 2016 Favorites
It's December! I'm so excited! I have Christmas music playing right now as I type, but to be truthful it was a hard decision not to play Bruno Mars, Lady Gaga, or The Weeknd. Have you heard their new albums? So so good. But right now, Christmas music is winning. You only get that short window of time to have carols in your head before people start looking at you funny.
Here are my favorites from last month (two are repeats from October)! I'd love to hear if you have tried any of these or what you have been loving this past month. Is there anything I need to be adding to my Christmas list?! Do share!
- Arbonne Cardinal Gloss - It's such a beautiful red and I really crave red lips during this time of the year.
- ColourPop Supermodel Shadow - Swatch is coming soon. It's a great base color.
- Elizabeth & James Nirvana Black Perfume - It's so warm and spicy. Perfect for winter nights!
- Arbonne Exfoliating New Cell Scrub - As a weekly dose, I have noticed my skin isn't as prone to dry patches.
- ColourPop Lunch Money Highlight - Layers well with other products and gives a great glow.
- Bleu Lavande Cleansing Milk - Feels refreshing and doesn't make my skin feel tight.

Arbonne Exfoliating New Cell Scrub and Foaming Sea Salt Scrub
Here I am, back at it again with some exciting skincare products! These two scrubs are from Arbonne, the Exfoliating New Cell Scrub and the Foaming Sea Salt Scrub. I never say no to a good scrub! Scrubs and moisturizers are probably the items I have the most of in my skincare collection. I recently showed my latest pamper routine that involved bath products, but I use these in the shower. I like to mix things up a bit!
Keep reading to hear my thoughts on these two products! And click on the Arbonne tag at the bottom of this post to see other products that I have reviewed from the brand.
The packaging is crisp and fresh and adds a nice pop of color in my shower. Because of the citrus in this product, I do have a mild reaction but I counteract it with a dose of Benadryl and I am good to go. Can we talk about what a nuisance that allergy is? Citrus is just about everywhere. I'm just happy that my reactions aren't more severe than itchy skin, hives, and migraines. Still not fun, I assure you. Bless Benadryl for existing!
I don't usually share pictures of skincare formulas, but these two are worth showing. The New Cell scrub is bright white and the Sea Salt scrub has little white (oxidized polyethylene) microbeads. I am trying to stay away from plastic beads in products and there is controversy with products that use them. Between those, the pumice, and sea salt, the Sea Salt scrub is a little too harsh for my sensitive skin. But I've been using it on tougher areas like my elbows and heels with success. I love that it has a little foaming action. I cannot fully recommend this scrub for an all over scrub, but if you have dry and cracked feet and elbows, it may be worth a try for you. It retails for $40 US/ $46 CA.
As for the New Cell scrub, it warns that your skin might stay red for up to two hours afterward. Having such sensitive skin, I was nervous upon first use but this does not feel abrasive at all. And while my skin did get slightly red (as it does with just about every single product that touches it - ugh), it did not last that long and it was not uncomfortable. This did make my skin feel very dry after, but a dose of moisturizer fixed that right up. While a breakout is rare for me, they can and do happen. This did not bring about any spots or issues. My skin felt clean and softer when all was said and done. This retails for $34 US/ $40 CA.
As with any skincare item, I recommend looking at the ingredients and seeing if they will work for you. I mentioned my reaction to citrus, so I only use these once a week or every other week. There are plant extracts and fragrance oils in these that can cause reactions for some. Out of these two products, I like the New Cell scrub. I think it will be great during colder months to rescue facial skin from all of the dry air from the indoor heating units and the cold blustery winds outside.
Let me know if you have tried either of these! Are you a scrub lover like I am?

InstaMonth for October 2016
October has come and gone and I am already seeing Christmas ads on TV. Granted, I'm in Canada and they go right from Halloween to Christmas with no buffer. No matter how long I have been here, I still try to wait as close to the US Thanksgiving as I can. I don't always never succeed at holding back my holiday spirit until then, but I try.
This year, we'll be putting up the tree just before my Thanksgiving because Toronto's Santa Claus Parade is on November 20th. I want the tree up, because it just adds to the moment doesn't it? A cup of hot cocoa, Christmas lights, and a parade on the TV? I mean, that just sets the mood. And this way it will also be up when I watch the Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade, so it's a double win. I may have just done a little happy dance in my chair (and I am super grateful that you couldn't see it).
Here's a few pictures from my Instagram. I'd love for us to follow each other, if we aren't already. I hope you have a great weekend!

October 2016 Faves + This Month's Sponsor
Oh, happy day! I always think of Sister Act when I hear or say that. Anyone else? Today is a happy day for me. I was able to get to Best Buy this weekend and purchase a replacement battery charger for my blogging camera. So happy to have my baby back in my hands and ready for action!
This month's sponsor helped cover some of that unexpected cost. If you look under "Sponsors" on my sidebar, you'll see the link to Beautiful Beakers. I'd love if you'd go show Stef a little love on her blog. She's got a great new post up about Benefit Cosmetics!
- Elizabeth and James Nirvana Black Perfume - Favorite date night and evening scent. It lasts so long on the skin and the sandalwood notes make it perfect for cooler weather.
- ColourPop Cosmetics Wattles Super Shock Shadow - Review is coming. A rosy beige and if you like the Naked 3 palette, this works really well with that.
- ColourPop Cosmetics Gummy Bear Sculpting Stix - Review is coming. Such an easy highlighter to use! It offers you perfect control.
- Arbonne Cardinal Glossed Over - See swatch and review here. Great for the holidays!
- L'Oreal Revitalift Bright Reveal Dual Overnight Moisturizer - Review is here. I love the cooling effect and it does a nice job at hydrating my skin.

Arbonne Glossed Over Lip Gloss in Cardinal
I have misplaced my camera charger and I only have one notch on my camera left. It was enough to get these pictures for this post. I am sure my fellow bloggers and photographers share my laments! I can use my phone or other secondary cameras if I really have to, but I'd really rather not. #firstworld blogging problems? You betcha. The pain, the agony!
Okay okay, I'm done overreacting. For now. I have better things to talk about, like this new Arbonne Glossed Over shade called Cardinal. I've talked Arbonne on here before and you can find those posts under my "arbonne" tag! Don't even get me started on my love of the Sheer Glow Highlighter. So good! This is my first time trying one of the glosses, so keep on reading to see what I think and to see my swatches of Cardinal!

August 2016 Favorites
Yay, September is here! September-December is my favorite time of the year and it is here! I can smell autumn in the air. It is coming! I'm sorry to all of you summer lovers out there. You still have a few weeks to enjoy it!
Speaking of enjoying things, here are my favorites from last month. And while writing this post, I am enjoying a 90s playlist on Spotify. On right now? Wannabe by Spice Girls. Heck yes! I'll try to stop singing along with the playlist long enough to make this post and my thoughts cohesive. Well, I'll try.
- Ole Henriksen Nurture Me Facial Water - As a primer before moisturizer, it makes my dry skin feel more hydrated.
- Essie Ladylike Nail Polish - Such a beautiful dusty mauve!
- CoverGirl Simply Ageless Foundation - My current foundation. The Olay serum makes this dry skin friendly.
- Arbonne Sheer Glow Highlighter - This mixes in foundations so well and gives a beautiful glow.
- YSL Rouge Volupte in 1 (Nude Beige) - My swatch of this is one of my most popular posts, so I think I'll be updating the pictures in it soon. This is a gorgeous pink beige. I still don't know where they get the nude from. These are among my favorite lipstick formulas!

Arbonne Sheer Glow Highlighter
I have already said it, but I am obsessed with highlighters right now. I just can't get enough glow! I do have a few powders that I am loving, but it is this liquid one that has my true love. Arbonne's Sheer Glow Highlighter is so easy to use and I have been using it every single time I do my makeup since it came into my life. It's that good.
Here are my thoughts and swatches!
It's not very noticeable on its own, which is why I love mixing it with other products. My favorite way to use it is to mix it in with my current foundation. It makes its biggest splash that way! I also layer it with my blushes and other highlighting products on my cheeks. Sheer Glow doesn't have glitter and it is the first that I have found easy to work with and not need a learning curve to not look like a disco ball.
Bottom line, you might find it too sheer on its own, but it works wonderfully with other products you probably already own. The tube is great for getting the amount that you need, but I would squish the tube a bit before each use to mix the product. Arbonne's Sheer Glow Highlighter retails for $43 US / $50 CA. I've barely made a dent in my tube after using it for over a month. So this will last quite a while!

Arbonne Smoothed Over Lipstick in Willow
I am quickly becoming a fan of the Arbonne Smoothed Over Lipstick formula. They are very smooth, creamy, and moisturizing. And I love the fruity smell. I want to say strawberry, but I can't quite put my finger on it. I find myself taking the lids off just to smell them, though. I try not to do it in public, but I make no promises.
Willow retails for $34 CA / $28 US. Like I said above, I love how creamy the formula is. It goes on like a dream. You do have to watch out for breakage with these, though. I've heard about the bullets breaking right off. I have not personally had that happen, but I'm extra careful with mine after hearing about it. Just don't wind it up too far and you should be alright.
Willow is a nude with mauve undertones. I've never met a nude or mauve I didn't like, so I love the color and find it flattering on my skintone. It goes on a bit sheer, but it is easily buildable. I see this as a shade suitable for everyday. Smoke up your eye makeup a little and it takes you straight from the office to a night out. If you're not into sporting red or pink lips on Valentine's Day, I think a nude like this one fits the bill!
You can also see my other Arbonne reviews on Aster, Iris, Berry, and the Lip Treatment.
