ColourPop Lippie Stix in Lumiere and Button

So about that whole ColourPop addiction thing that I mentioned in an earlier post? Yeah, that's still going strong. Here's the first post of my most recent order, where I show you my swatches of the Lippie Stix in Lumiere and Button.

I won't delve much into the matte formula of Lumiere, because I've already touched on that in my Contempo and Cami Lippie Stix post. Click on over to that post to see my thoughts and swatches of those two beauties! I will talk more in depth about Button, as it is in a satin finish.

Lumiere is from the KathleenLights collection. I think it is an absolute lovely mauve, but it's darker on me. Here's the thing I find with the swatches on ColourPop's website- they are usually much lighter than the actual swatches I get. And I have skin that is so fair that I'm certain I might be Snow White. (I mean, really I'm more of a Belle which works out well with this being Lumiere!) On the website, they say a dusty mauve pink. I see a purplish mauve, not a pink mauve. Luckily, I like purple mauves but part of the reason that I chose Lumiere was because it looked different from other mauves in my collection. This doesn't. It's gorgeous, but it is not the color I was expecting. Lumiere is in their matte formula.

Button is a little more similar to the swatch on the website. It comes across a little more warm on me, but the color is not far off from the pale peachy nude that they promise. This is in their satin formula. They say it has a "hydrating feel". Did I notice that? Not really, but it goes on smoothly and opaque on the first layer. It lasted around the 5-6 hour mark on me. The closest color to this in my collection is MAC's Ever Hip lipstick from the Liberty of London launch. If you were a fan of that, this might be worth looking into!

Even though they aren't exactly what I expected, they are both great colors that I am happy to own. Do you own either of these? Let me know what you think!
