Frightful Friday

Currently listening: Love and Some Verses by Iron and Wine
Currently watching: a Simpsons Halloween episode
Currently feeling: lazzzzzy

If going to a party or out tonight, please do it all responsibly and be careful! Have a safe and fun Halloween! I'm out for a night of seeing decorated houses and dinner at Boston Pizza. Yeah, I live so dangerously. :P

P.S.- I missed doing an entry yesterday because I was busy with family events and a football game. :)

Wonderful Wednesday

Currently doing: cleaning...wait..what...wow, I actually am. It's cold out. Perhaps Hell froze over. :P
Currently thinking: that we are not going anywhere for Christmas on our budget =/
Currently feeling: productive, headache-y, and tired of looking at travel sites

Jessica Biel recently attended the Rome International Film Festival. She looked gorgeous! I see why Justin Timberlake is smitten by her!

Tacky Tuesday

Currently listening: We Will Rock You OBC
Currently thinking: I'm behind on everything.
Currently feeling: stressed

Kate Bosworth recently stepped out in this Miu Miu ensemble. Am I the only one who think the whole outfit is just horrible? Since when is it stylish to wear a dress that looks like it has holes on it everywhere? And to wear a gold sweater under it with gray sweater on top and red heels? It's a strange mix of colors. Any two of those would work together, but not all three. That's an overload!

Musical Monday

Currently listening: Human by The Killers
Currently drinking: water
Currently feeling: I woke up in the Christmas spirit...in October. :P

I saw We Will Rock You on Saturday. Sooooo good! I rank it right up there with Mamma Mia and Wicked as being my favorite shows that I have seen so far. They worked comedy into the scenes and made it quite hilarious. I love a show that has good music and good laughs. If given a chance, please see this musical. The Toronto cast was beyond amazing. I think my new dream Broadway role is Scaramouche. She's a tongue-in-cheek and ball-buster kind of gal! :)

Fierce Comeback Friday

Currently watching: Tyra Banks Show
Currently reading: Flare fashion magazine
Currently feeling: sad

Britney Spears is on the verge of a huge comeback. With her new hit Womanizer topping the charts, I think she's exactly where she never should have left. She looks like she is back on track with a toned body, great hair extensions, and hot videos. I cannot wait for Circus to come out on December 2nd. And I had no idea until today that this week marked the 10 year anniversary of Baby One More Time! Happy anniversary, Brit! :)

Timeless Thursday

Currently thinking: I have two people to call.
Currently wishing: that I were rich.
Currently feeling: sick to my stomach

To me sometimes being timeless is just having style. Period. It's not just about one piece, but what can you create in your wardrobe that people will remember you by.

Wacky Fashion Wednesday

Currently listening: Vacation by Kelly Clarkson
Currently looking at: travel sites for info
Currenty feeling: warm...the sun is coming in through the window where I'm sitting

It's time for some Wacky Fashion! And this week is a doozy. What monstrosity is this garb that Mel B., aka Scary Spice, wearing? The hair, the hoodie, the pockets... It truly is scary!

Totally Random Tuesday

Currently thinking: about what to have for dinner
Currently excited: that we got our first snow here today! Yesss! :)
Currently feeling: sick to my stomach..woke up this way and I'm miserable.

On Sunday, Richard Selzer (aka Mr. Blackwell) passed away. He had been making his yearly list of fashion travesties and triumphs for 48 years.

Last year's worst dressed included:
Victoria Beckham
Amy Winehouse
Mary-Kate Olsen
Fergie
Kelly Clarkson
Eva Green
Avril Lavigne
Jessica Simpson
Lindsay Lohan
Alison Arngrim

Last year's best dressed included:
Reese Witherspoon
Jemima Khan
Beyonce
Angelina Jolie
Helen Mirren
Nicole Kidman
Katie Holmes
Kate Middleton
Katherine Heigl
Cate Blanchett

I have to say I actually disagreed with him on quiet a few. I talked more about it earlier this year in this post. I thank him kindly for putting Fergie on his worst dressed, as she dresses horribly. Beyonce on the best dressed? I don't think so. I cannot argue with him on many of them, because he got it bang on with Reese, Katie, Fergie, Lindsay, etc. Seriously, I love leggings. I really do. Do I think they should be all you wear 24/7 and worn like normal pants? No, I certainly don't. Eeek!

Movie Monday

Currently listening: Bless the Broken Road by Rascal Flatts
Currently waiting for: Saturday! I'm going to see We Will Rock You!
Currently feeling: sore...I have a huge headache right now.

I went to the drive-in theatre last Monday and saw Eagle Eye and Ghost Town. Both were actually pretty entertaining!

Eagle Eye
Shia's character, Jerry, gets a call one day that changes his life. He finds that all of his moves are being monitored and if he disobeys the directions he is given, there will be consequences. He meets Rachel (Michelle Monaghan) who has received a similar phone call. It's quite a good work of suspense.

Ghost Town
First off, it's great to see Ricky Gervais making it over here. He's brilliant! This show runs like a British comedy and that is a good thing. Kristen Wiig has a hilarious part in the movie as a doctor who operates on Bertram (Ricky). Tea Leoni's character, Gwen, plays the love interest. Bertram finds that he can see ghosts after a surgery. And he's not happy about it!

Factful Friday

Currently purchased: The Killers concert tickets and fan club membership :]
Currently listening: I Drove All Night by Celine Dion
Currently feeling: indecisive

Today's fact circles around Coco Chanel. She remains one of my fashion icons.

Coco Chanel spent over 30 years of her life living in a hotel. She called the Hotel Ritz in Paris home. Can you imagine living most of your life in a hotel room?

P.S.- Happy birthday, Tess!

Trademark Thursday

Currently watching: Eleventh Hour
Currently thinking: that my phone bill is crazy high this month
Currently feeling: sore after an hour of working out today

I think everyone has a trademark or even a few trademarks. Tell me some of your wardrobe trademarks!

For myself:
I love wearing cardigans.
I wear colorful jackets in the winter to make up for drab weather.
I always carry a purse.
I change jewelry and purses to always go with my outfit.
I almost always wear my red heart padlock Marc Jacobs timepiece.
In the Summer, I live in sandals.

I probably have more, but that's enough for now. What about you? :)

Wacky Fashion Wednesday

Currently listening: When I Grow Up by The Pussycat Dolls
Currently thinking: that I need to put together an exercise mix for my iPod
Currently feeling: hungry

I usually love Karl Lagerfeld. I think he is amazing and a mastermind at what he does. However, I cannot fathom the idea of these shoes. The Miami Vice heels were inspired by a picture of gun that Karl was given. I do not believe that guns should have a part of fashion or that they should be in the spotlight like that. Not only that, I just think they are completely tacky. Madonna recently wore the shoes to her new film premiere.

Totally Random Tuesday

Currently watching: The Rachael Ray Show
Currently reading: 1984
Currently feeling: sore...I worked some muscles I don't usually work out the other day.

OK, so I'm hooked on online shopping. I can't hide it. It's convenient. It's quick. And a lot of the time, you will find exclusive online items. There is a Forever 21 downtown now, but I have yet to go into it. I surf the site sometimes to see what they have. I don't really care for their clothes, but I love their accessories. Right now, my main kick is bows. I can't deny it! So I bought a few hairbows on the F21 site. :)

1.satin headband in charcoal
2. safari print hair clips
3. red/black plaid headband
4. houndstooth headband

It came to about $25 Canadian with shipping! Not bad!

Mellow Monday

Currently doing: absolutely nothing and loving it
Currently thinking: about which movie to see today
Currently feeling: happy that my hubby has a day off

Today is Canada's Thanksgiving! So I just want to give a shoutout to all the Canadians today. Happy Thanksgiving, eh! :D I celebrated yesterday with my husband's family and today we're just doing our own thing. It still feels weird to have another holiday in October, but I will not complain about it! I love holidays...and any excuse that I get to stuff my face with a nice home cooked meal (that's not cooked by me)! :P

The best part about this year is that we are going back to my home this Thanksgiving, as well. So I'm celebrating two Thanksgivings this year. It's been awhile since I was home for that holiday. Now, if I could just work out some way to have two different Christmases. That would rock!

Fresh Friday

Currently thinking: I can't believe I've been in Canada for 4 years now!
Currently listening: All This Beauty by The Weepies
Currently feeling: annoyed because one of the cats will not shut up

This week's fresh item is actually a website- Free People. They have some really cute items and if your surf through the sales, you can find some great buys. They offer scarves, tops, jewelry, and more.

Timeless Thursday

Currently doing: absolutely nothing
Currently thinking: I can't wait for a real vacation!
Currently feeling: itchy...don't know why

Time for Timeless Thursday! This week's item is a white dress shirt. Every wardrobe needs one. Honestly! You can dress them up or down in so many different way! Wear it under a blazer or vest with straight leg jeans for a cool casual look. Wear it tucked into a skirt with a cardigan for a look for work. That's just two looks. Go out and buy a cheap on at Walmart or Target or splurge on a name brand one. I think the cheap ones are fine, because then you can get more of them!

Seriously, this one is $695 at eluxury. You can buy one at Walmart for probably $15 and have enough left over to buy some really great accessories to dress it up!

Totally Random Tuesday

Currently playing: Never Ever by All Saints
Currently getting ready to: play some Wii Fit...borrowed my SIL's board to try it out
Currently feeling: lazy...which is why I want to play some Wii Fit!

So I got a new phone! Yay! My old phone was only around a year and a half old, but it had no QWERTY keyboard. Texting got to be really annoying for me! So I upgraded. :) Perhaps if you watch Gossip Girl, you would have seen my new phone in the episode The Serena Also Rises as Blair tells Rufus that Jenny has not been in school. Ah yes, I have Blair's phone. :D I did not buy it for that purpose, but it makes it a little cooler. Well, to me anyway...

In Canada, Telus calls the LG enV2 a Keybo. That's right. I have a LG Keybo, but seriously everyone knows it by enV2. I was originally going to get the maroon color, but I ended up getting the black one. The inside UI (user interface) is black and green. That's a huge upgrade from my LG Chocolate Flip that had white backgrounds with purple and green links and menus. Plus, it has speaker phone and the option to make a ringtone ring for incoming text messages. My last phone had neither of those options. As far as size goes, both are pretty much equal and only flip in opposite directions.

The only differences from my phone and the picture I have posted is:
There are no gray colored keys like the image on the right.
The red lettering on the keys on the picture are actually blue on my phone.
I have a Telus symbol on my phone instead of Verizon. Haha!
The inside menu that they show as red and black is actually green and black on mine.

I love my new phone! And I like to make myself approachable. So if you are a reader and you want a new text buddy, let me know! We can exchange numbers. :) Just shoot me an email at fragilesupernova@gmail.com!

Music Monday

Currently listening: Barracuda by Fergie
Currently wondering: What on earth was with the random dream I just had?
Currently feeling: cold

Time for Music Monday! What's On My iPod? Pt. 6! :) Or better yet, what's on my NEW iPod TOUCH. :P Yeah, it's my new addiction.

  1. Bruises by Chairlift (the song from the new iPod Nano commercial)
  2. Love Lockdown (Kanye West cover) by Fall Out Boy
  3. Stepping Stone by Duffy
  4. Better in Time by Leona Lewis
  5. How I Could Just Kill A Man by Charlotte Sometimes
  6. Big Girl Now by NKOTB and Lady GaGa
  7. Light On by David Cook
  8. Human by The Killers
  9. So What by Pink
  10. Love Lockdown version 2 by Kanye West (I'm in love with this song!)
If you want to hear any of these, just ask and I'll upload the song for you. :)

Fresh Friday

Currently listening: When You're Gone (acoustic version)- Avril Lavigne
Currently drinking: Coke Zero
Currently feeling: Lazy and excited about Ghost Whisperer, Numb3rs, and The Ex List premieres tonight!

OK, so first off...My life is almost complete now. Why? Well, I was out shopping the other day and I found someone who looked like he could be Karl Lagerfeld's twin! He was dressed in a black turtleneck and had his long white hair in a ponytail. Magnifique! Now, if I could just meet the real man. *sigh*

Time for Fresh Friday! The look that I'm liking right now is using your Spring and Summer dresses in your Fall wardrobe. All you need to do is update them a little! With a maxi dress, add a cardigan and a belt. For the shorter dresses, add a jacket or a cardigan and heavy tights (for the cooler days). It makes it a little easier to not have to go out and by new dresses just for Autumn!

Much like this user on LOOKBOOK (Modern Vintage):

Timeless Thursday

Currently browsing: LOOKBOOK
Currently waiting for: The debate tonight!
Currently feeling: Aches all over. Aunt Flo is an evil woman. I want to kick her hard.

Time for Timeless Thursday again! Without meaning to, I have based this timeless item on something that Audrey has made famous. Much like her black flats, when she sported black Wayfarers in Breakfast At Tiffany's the world caught on. They have had a surge in popularity in the past two years with young Hollywood starlets wearing them all over the place. Sold at eluxury!

Wishlist Wednesday

Currently playing with: my new iPod Touch!
Currently drinking: water
Currently feeling: cranky

I thought I would add a little wishlist of things that I want and definitely need. I left off clothes, makeup, and other items. I decided to focus more on electronics and my dream purse. :D

  1. LG Keybo (Canadian LG Keybo = American LG enV2) or Blackberry Curve- I just really need a QWERTY keyboard because texting without one is driving me crazy! Plus, I really want to be able to have a ringtone play when I get a text. Mine just beeps. Boring!
  2. Sex and the City Movie Special Edition DVD- I need this in my life. I'll then have all of the SATC stuff.
  3. Gossip Girl Season 1 DVD- One of my favorite shows and I just have to have it. :)
  4. If you have an iPod, DS, Wii, etc., seriously check out decalgirl. They make skins and matching wallpapers to make your devices even prettier. I'm really wanting one for the new cell phone I'm hoping to get, as well as one for my new iPod Touch!
  5. Wii Fit- I still can't find any of these in stock anywhere. I'm hoping to get one soon!
  6. Nikon SLR camera- My husband and I are thinking of going away at Christmas and I would love to have a professional camera so I can take some decent photos. I always get more inspired while on vacation.
  7. Louis Vuitton Speedy 25 or 30 in Damier Azur- Not sure on size, but I know I WANT this badly. It has been my dream purse for a few years now.
  8. Wii Outdoor Challenge- I was looking at this recently and it looks like fun. I figure I can get it now while I wait for the Fit. It offers a lot of cute little games on it!
And here is my new baby- 16GB iPod Touch 1G!
