Thursday Plantation Tea Tree Skincare

I'm highlighting quite a bit of essential and carrier oils lately and I'm not mad about it. There's so many and they all have a myriad of uses! I have actually touched on tea tree oil before and it was actually a Thursday Plantation one so we're coming around full circle. I've started including the tag "oils" to help you in your search, if you're interested in learning more about the oils that I have tried so far.

Having only tried Thursday Plantation oils, I actually did not realize that they offered a skincare range. While I don't have many breakouts, I always grab for tea tree oil when I feel one coming. Especially during "that time of the month". It's perfect for acne-prone skin, if you're still looking for a remedy! My husband breaks out easily, so this is a line that I put on the vanity and didn't call off limits if he wanted to try it. Here's what I have been trying the past few weeks from Thursday Plantation's tea tree skincare line!

Terre Bleu Lavender Farm Items - Roll-on, Lip Balm, Shortbread, and Dried Bouquet

I was recently sent a few items from the Terre Bleu Lavender Farm. I was also sent admission to the farm, but I haven't yet had the time to take advantage. Now, I'm just waiting for the full bloom of the French lavender and then I'll share pictures from my visit! I was hoping to go before and fit them into this post, but the timing just never worked out.

So for this post, I'll just be sharing about a few of the products you can find available from Terre Bleu that features their lavender: an oil roll-on, lavender and mint lip balm, lavender shortbread cookies, and a dried lavender bouquet. Also, I'll touch on a few benefits of lavender oil!

Kosmea Australia Rose Hip Oil and Rescue Balm

Rose hip oil is new for me! It's been on my radar, but I had not actually tried it. When I was sent these two products, it was very timely because I was nursing a sunburn from my trip back home. I've been trying these for weeks now and am happy to report back with my thoughts. Not only is rose hip oil new to me, but so is the brand Kosmea Australia. I love trying new (to me) brands! Here is what I think of Kosmea Australia's Rose Hip Oil and their Rescue Balm.

Sunny Daze Summer Playlist

I never really got around to sharing my spring playlist, but that is okay because there's been some great songs that just recently came out that I can't stop playing! Of course, I usually have a mix of old and new on my playlists because I listen to everything. Let me know if there is a song that you can't get out of your head that I just "have to hear"!

Vichy Ideal Soleil Ultra-Fluid Mineral Tinted Sunscreen Lotion

I've been testing Vichy's Ultra-Fluid Tinted Sunscreen Lotion for the past few weeks. As someone who loves a good tinted moisturizer that has some SPF, this is the first tinted sunscreen I have tried. With SPF 60, this is a sunscreen first and foremost. Here's my thoughts and my swatch of the "universal tint".

Updated May 11, 2025: This product has slightly changed its name, but is still the same formula!

Birthday Wishlist for 2019

It's really just a wishlist, but my husband asked me for ideas for my birthday (it's Friday!). I had a hard time coming up with anything after having the most perfect trip home to South Carolina in May. I do usually have a running wishlist on my phone, so I resorted to that and here's a few of the things from it. There's no beauty items on it, because I just couldn't think of anything. Plus, I know I'll be getting my birthday freebie from Sephora to fill that void! Man, I live for birthday freebies.

We're planning a few outings over the next week or two to stretch out the celebrations, the Terre Bleu Lavender Farm for one. We also had a movie date this past weekend while finally seeing Shazam! You guys, it's so good. I know I'm late on the train. I love Zachary Levi (Chuck and The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel, especially) and he did not let me down. I went in knowing nothing about the superhero, but loved the entire story and adventure. It was even better that the seats were fully reclining...if only every theatre had those.

Blog of the Month for July 2019 : Curiously Carmen

In June, Renee from See the World in Pink was my featured blogger. You can read that post and see other past featured blogs under the "blog of the month" label! Being my blog of the month gets you a designated blog post, a sidebar button, and a mention on my Twitter account. The sidebar button stays up all month long. I don't believe in necessarily making bloggers pay for advertising and I'd much rather show you blogs that I really enjoy reading. And I hope you end up enjoying them too!

This month, I've chosen Carmen from Curiously Carmen. She does a lot of food reviews with some beauty and travel thrown in. As a foodie, I enjoy the food reviews especially when she goes to the places that have locations near me and I can add them to my Yelp list of places to try! You can also find skincare reviews like this one she did of the Korres Wild Rose Foaming Cream Cleanser. If you stop by her blog for a visit, feel free to let her know I sent you.

Hope you all have a lovely weekend! And try to stay indoors and cool if you're in the parts of the world going through a crazy heat wave like we are!

June 2019 InstaMonth

June on Instagram...it was interesting, wasn't it? Heck, July started off on the wrong foot with that outage yesterday and I'm still experiencing bugs today. Honestly, I'd take the outage in a heartbeat if that meant they were working on their absolute bollocks of an algorithm. I'm sorry, but I'm not on the train of thought where it's completely the user and not the algorithm's fault behind any issue you find with Instagram. I'm sure there is some user fault, but the recent changes are affecting a lot of people and not just those with smaller follower counts. It's become a shell of what Instagram once was and that's a real disappointment. Have you noticed a dip in everything on Instagram, as well?

And since I had several people tell me just this week how they were missing my posts on their feed, I figured I'd share a few more photos from my account than I normally do. If they are not going to show up on most Instagram feeds, I might as well post them to my blog. Right?! So here are some pictures from my Instagram during June!
