October 2019 Favorites

Whoa, is tomorrow really Halloween already? My gosh, October, you came and went fast! I didn't get around to doing a Five Friday Faves post in October, so I'll try to condense those favorites into the November edition later on.

Are you doing anything for Halloween? We are being homebodies this year. My husband is working from home, so that we can watch all of the Halloween shows and movies that we can fit in. And when I say movies, I mean like Monster House, Coraline, Halloweentown, etc. I don't enjoy true scares or gore in movies because...well, I like being able to sleep. Haha! I do love supernatural shows though, so we'll catch up on Ghost Hunters, Evil, and the like. Do you love watching ghost and supernatural shows like me? Let me know your favorites!

Here are my beauty favorites from October! Two of them are repeats from last month, if my memory serves me correctly. I haven't really bought too many new things and I just want to share what I'm truly loving. If that means showcasing the same items for multiple months, so be it. That tells you how much I love something, doesn't it? I hope so!

June 2019 InstaMonth

June on Instagram...it was interesting, wasn't it? Heck, July started off on the wrong foot with that outage yesterday and I'm still experiencing bugs today. Honestly, I'd take the outage in a heartbeat if that meant they were working on their absolute bollocks of an algorithm. I'm sorry, but I'm not on the train of thought where it's completely the user and not the algorithm's fault behind any issue you find with Instagram. I'm sure there is some user fault, but the recent changes are affecting a lot of people and not just those with smaller follower counts. It's become a shell of what Instagram once was and that's a real disappointment. Have you noticed a dip in everything on Instagram, as well?

And since I had several people tell me just this week how they were missing my posts on their feed, I figured I'd share a few more photos from my account than I normally do. If they are not going to show up on most Instagram feeds, I might as well post them to my blog. Right?! So here are some pictures from my Instagram during June!

2018 Beauty Favorites

I feel like I was just writing the 2017 post on this topic! This is a post all on the products that I've used the heck out of all year, not necessarily new to me. Some are even repeats from last year, because why change a good thing?

The only thing I can think of that I didn't include are concealers, but that's super easy because I pretty much stick to my HGs - MUFE Full Cover and Maybelline Age Rewind! Those don't really change, because I have yet to find anything that comes close to replacing them for me. I may venture away, but I always come back. Ya girl needs her concealer to feel human! What's your "I need it to feel human" product? Lipstick? Mascara?

InstaMonth for October 2018

I can't believe it's already November. I know, I know. I always say that. But when I sit back and think, it feels like I just bought my 2018 wall calendar. It's insane how fast this year has gone by. I am looking forward to a new year, but I need time to slow down if only so I can enjoy the last moments of my favorite time of the year. Give me fall, the very beginning of winter, and all the holidays. It's just THE BEST.

I've got Poppy's new album playing as I type this. I'm not sure I'm quite on the Poppy train, but she does have some catchy tunes. Have you listened to her or watched some of her strange videos on YouTube? It's kind of funny, because her song Fashion After All is playing currently just as I was about to tackle that subject. I used to share more OOTDs before my knee injury and then...well, I just kind of stopped or at least did not do them as frequently. In the early days, it's because it was hard to stand and pose.

I realized that I have rather missed sharing outfits and fashion more frequently. I mean, that's where my blog name comes from! So now on my Instagram, I'm making one day a week (at least!) be an OOTD or something related to fashion or style. Right now, it's Thursdays unless I have a different #TBT to share whatever week. The Instagram algorithm has been failing me recently, so I have actually found it easier to take the pressure off of myself of having an extremely cohesive feed. It's just so limiting.

Sephora Birthday Gift 2018 : Bite Beauty Chai and Glace Lipsticks

Okay, so my birthday was in July and I'm just getting around to sharing the swatches of these three months later. I lost a bit of review time when my main camera's battery wasn't charging. Now, we're back in the swatching game! Of course, if you haven't celebrated your birthday yet, then I'm right on time.

Sephora's Beauty Insider program is free to sign up for and you get a free birthday gift every year. Honestly, last year's Tarte set is still one of my favorites and I use the Paaarty blush constantly. This year offers you a choice between a GLAMGLOW set, this Bite Beauty set, or if you`re top level VIB or Rouge, you can opt to get 250 points in your account instead. You can get these gifts without a purchase in store or you can add it to your cart during an online order (like I did).

I opted for the Bite Beauty lipstick set with Chai and Glace. I have a lot of skincare that I am trying to get through and I just can't say no to a lipstick, especially Bite Beauty as they are one of my fave brands. Both Chai and Glace are a part of Bite Beauty's permanent collection. The set also came with a mini sample of their Agave Lip Balm and Agave Sugar Lip Scrub that I have not included in the post below. Here are my swatches!

Sephora Birthday Haul 2018

I put in my first Sephora order for this year to get my birthday freebie. Every time I go into the stores, they seem to have an issue with getting my points issued and I have to call them in. So I avoided that extra step and ordered online. Plus, getting 8% cash back on eBates (my link is on my sidebar, if you're interested) and a limited sample bag of foundations were some added benefits.

I don't think I've bought anything from Sephora this year unless something has escaped my mind, as these days I typically wait until my birthday, Black Friday, Christmas, Boxing Day, and the $15 off coupons. It's actually a pretty decent system with there being a few months between Christmas and my birthday to actually use and enjoy what I pick out. That ain't to say I'm not always lurking the app and adding to my wishlist novel. ;) It also gives those things time to sit on that list and let me decide if I actually truly want it or would use it.

This haul might be slightly boring as it involves the birthday freebie, samples galore, and one item that fit the above criteria. This item sat on my list for months. I drooled over pictures on Instagram. I obsessed over makeup tutorials using it on YouTube. The want just kept growing and now it's mine! This post is just the haul. I will have swatches and reviews coming!

Bite Beauty's 2017 Mauvember Amuse Bouche Liquified Lip

To those who celebrate, I hope you all had a wonderful Christmas! This is a scheduled post, so I'm still off enjoying my holiday vacation. I have one more scheduled post coming on Friday! You can keep up with me on my various social media accounts or message me, if you'd like. I just wanted to use this week to enjoy some time off with my husband! So I might be a little more MIA than usual. I'll be back to my usual routine when 2018 comes around- WHOA! 2018?! Goodness gracious.

Sephora VIB Sale 2017 Haul

Technically for me, it was just a Beauty Insider haul. I haven't been a VIB in years! As a matter of fact, I'm pretty sure this is my first Sephora order since last December. And I still call myself a beauty blogger- haha! With that said, I did get my $15 off coupon that I plan to put to use next week. I have to restock my HG concealer, the Make Up For Ever Full Cover.

Did you guys buy anything during this sale? I kind of wish they would do a better deal for the VIBs and Rouge members for what you guys spend to get to that level. 20% just doesn't seem like much in the scheme of things, but it is better than nothing. As a Beauty Insider, I had 15% and basically saved taxes on my order. I picked up a few things for myself and called it a day. Let's dig in to what I got!

Bite Beauty Lip Primer and Liquified Lipsticks in Flambe, Eclair, and Demi-Glace

Bite Beauty has some of the best lip products I have tried. And when I was told that I would be getting the Amuse Bouche Liquified Lipstick Influenster Vox Box, I was ecstatic. I had already been stalking Temptalia for swatches and info at the time. And what a fabulous box it was! Influenster sent me three of the Liquified Lipsticks in Flambe, Eclair, and Demi-Glace, as well as Bite Beauty's Line & Define Lip Primer. New From Bite Beauty: The Lip Pencil in 020 and 044

In this post, I'm reviewing and swatching Bite Beauty's new lip pencils in 020 and 044. Along with those, I'll also have swatches for their Amuse Bouche lipsticks in Honeycomb and Whiskey that go hand-in-hand with the lip pencils. I only had three Bite lipsticks prior to this and all are in the old formula before it was replaced with the Amuse Bouche. So all of these items are new to me and I look forward to sharing my thoughts.
