Holiday Gift Guide 2019: For the Last Minute

Who else is late to the Christmas shopping party this year? I had to wait to make sure we could make the trip down south a reality. Once it did indeed become a reality, I've been in overdrive getting my shopping done. My family is bigger than my husband's, so it's been a lot of list making, deal checking, and online searching! I think I'm finally seeing the light at the end of the tunnel with only three or so little gifts left. My mom, stepdad, and brother are all done and that was my main goal! Granted, we still have to buy some gifts for the people up here, but luckily we can focus on that when we get back to Toronto. How about you? Have you finished already?

Because it never fails that Christmas comes around and I find myself having to buy a last minute or unexpected gift for someone, I thought I'd put together a list of ideas for that very purpose. I usually even have a pile of random gifts set to the side so that I can grab and go, be it a birthday or holiday!

Holiday Gift Guide 2019: For the One Hosting

I don't mind hosting, but I'm kind of excited to not be doing so this year. Going home this year, we just didn't want to go all out with decor and worry about party planning. Next year is fair game, though! It was a smart move on our part, because it's been something else trying to get everything ready for the trip to South Carolina.

If like us, you're going elsewhere for all of your Christmas gatherings, perhaps this will give you a few ideas on what to take as a gift for the ones opening up their home to you. I also highly recommend food to add to the offerings, because who isn't excited when more food shows up?! As always, I kept it to a budget. All of these ideas are under $50!

Holiday Gift Guide 2019: For the Homebody

It's pretty fitting that my next gift guide to follow the beauty lovers one would be the one dedicated to the homebody. I mean, those two describe me quite accurately! Especially during these colder months where I want nothing more than to bundle up inside, read a book, and whatnot. All things cozy, please!

I've made this list easy by having everything be from Chapters, but really this list is to give ideas. These are things that you can find at so many places. And I try to keep my lists affordable for those like me who are on a budget!

Holiday Gift Guide 2019: For the Beauty Lover

This seemed like a fitting list to start with my gift guides this year. I haven't fully decided how many of these to do this year, since I suppose I'm a bit late on including them. Of course, if you're like me, you're a late shopper anyway and appreciate seeing gift ideas until the last minute! I've made it easy this year by having everything available from Sephora, but sets like these are available in so many places. This list includes some products I love and some I have on my list to try!

Holiday Gift Guides 2018: Stocking Stuffers

I think the stockings are one of the best parts of Christmas. Maybe it is because I grew up with a 3 foot stocking that my aunt made for me and I'm pretty sure half of my Christmas fit into that bad boy. Not even kidding, it was awesome. I still have the stocking, but I haven't used it in years. I do wish that I had put it out with my decor this year. Note to self for next year!

Here are a few ideas to stuff stockings or hint at what you want in your own. I mean, you could stick to oranges and toothbrushes, but I say we add some fun to them and amp it up a bit! And personally, I think this is a great place to focus on self-care items. Okay...and chocolates. Treating yourself in many ways!

bblogger, bbloggers, bbloggerca, canadian beauty blogger, beauty blog, holiday, christmas, gift guide, ideas, sephora, sephora collection, foot mask, face mask, makeup, lush, lip scrub, tech, gadgets, bluetooth speaker, chapters, old navy, cozy socks, fuzzy socks, slippers, ideas, stocking stuffers
  • Foot or Hand Masks (via Sephora, $6 CA) - These can be found for relatively cheap prices and can always be used.
  • Face Masks (via Sephora, $35 CA) - I love sets like the one featured. You can break them up and give to multiple people and it's always a great value.
  • Makeup (via Sephora, $6 CA) - The stocking is an excellent place to throw in a little palette, lipstick, or any makeup item.
  • Lip Care (via LUSH, $7.95 CA) - Everyone can use a good lip scrub or balm!
  • Tech (via Chapters, $14.95 CA) - Raise your stocking game by tossing in a phone case, bluetooth accessory, chargers (because you know they always break!), or other little tech gadgets.
  • Socks or Slippers (via Old Navy, $5.94 CA) - Socks in stockings are nothing new, but the gift of comfort is underrated. Wearing cozy socks or slippers around the house is something anyone can appreciate, especially when the temperature is dropping.

Holiday Gift Guides 2018: For the Homebody

Raise your hand if you're totally down with a cozy night in instead of a night out on the town most nights. I'm raising my hand so high that even if you're around the world you probably see it! Haha! Better yet, I want everything on this list. Golden Girls Clue game? Sign me the heck up right now. I'm not even that big on game nights, but you throw Golden Girls into the mix? I'm soooo there. I'm a Dorothy, hands down. Which Golden Girl are you? Inquiring minds want to know!

And yes, my love of bears and Mitch Albom is also shown. But this is just a bookmark to give you ideas on the theme. But if you do want any of the below items, you and I are basically best friends now! Sorry, not sorry. ;) Hope this guide does give you a few ideas!

bblogger, bbloggerca, bbloggers, beauty blogger, lifestyle, blog, lblogger, gift guide, gift list, holiday, christmas, chapters, chapters indigo, lush, davidstea, davids tea, mitch albom, golden girls, polar bear, fleece throw, herbivore, coconut milk, bath soak, twilight, bath bomb, clue, board game, homebody, for the homebody, spending the night in
  • Something Moisturizing (via Sephora, $22.50 CA) - The heat blasting indoors can be brutal. Why not gift a nice lotion, hand cream, or bath soak to help in the battle?
  • Board Game (via Chapters, $49.95 CA) - Staying in and watching Netflix gets old. Sometimes a good game night is needed and it gets your friends to stay in and come to you. So you've won already by not having to go out, am I right?!
  • Book (via Chapters, $29.99 CA) - Sports for the sports nut. Music for the musician. Whatever it is the person likes, there's a book for it. I personally read everything and never turn down a book.
  • Cozy Blanket (via Chapters, $59.50 CA) - Because you can't have too many and nothing beats wrapping up into a cocoon on the couch. Especially on a rainy or snowy day. That's when it is the absolute best.
  • Cute Mug (via DAVIDsTEA, $23 CA) - Hot chocolate, coffee, tea. Whatever you want. I think it should be a scientific fact that everything tastes better in a cute mug.
  • Pamper Night (via LUSH, $6.95 CA) - Maybe put together a little care basket or just wrap a nice bath bomb for them to treat themselves. One of my favorite ways to unwind!

Holiday Gift Guides 2018: For the Pet Parent

We all know them. You know someone that obsesses over their pets. Heck, I am one of them. Are you? My dog definitely knows me as "mommy". He knows a lot of other words too, so much that I've been reduced to spelling them so he doesn't catch on. If he learns how to spell, I'm done for!

I might have focused a little more heavily on dogs and cats below, but it's easy enough to substitute in any animal. I mean, I've definitely see turtles, hamsters, birds, etc. on all kinds of things. Why not give a gift that makes the person think of their beloved pet? Or maybe they are like me and obsess over pretty much any animal. Polar bears and dogs being at the top of my ranking, of course. You just can't go wrong with anything like this, because it just incites all of the warm and fuzzy feels.

Another great idea that I did not include below would be a gift card to a pet store. It can be expensive to buy the food, treats, toys, and all of that jazz. A gift card can go a long way in helping the recipient spoil their pet how they want. Below are six other ideas and being totally honest, I want all of them. So darn cute.

bblogger, bbloggers, bbloggerca, canadian beauty bloggers, lifestyle, lbloggers, christmas, holiday, gift guide, for the pet parent, dogs, cats, pets, gifts, list, hudson bay, petsmart, chapters, chapters indigo, etsy, ideas
  • Themed Prints (via Etsy, $32.65+ CA) -  Sweatshirts, tees, wall art. The list goes on. There are so many great options out there with a lot of really fun sayings and graphics!
  • Notebook (via Chapters, $10.99 CA) - Because one can never have enough cute notebooks around.
  • Leash (via Hudson's Bay, $20 CA) - I've had this leash and the collar on my radar for a while. It's so vibrant. These stripes are really iconic up here in Canada.
  • Collar (via Hudson's Bay, $10 CA) - There is always need for new collars and leashes. Always.
  • Bedding (via PetSmart, $32.99 CA) - The only thing you truly need to know is the size of the animal. I love these bed sets. Indy has one and both the bed and blanket has held up well after almost two years. He still has the bone pillow, but it lost its ability to squeak and now it just isn't as interesting to him.
  • Scratching Pad (via PetSmart, $10.99 CA) - Cat owners know how necessary scratching posts and pads are. The last thing you want is a bored cat and unruly claws ready to cause havoc on anything and everything. They need to scratch. And having a few of these around lessens the chance of furniture and other things getting destroyed.

Holiday Gift Guides 2018: For the One Hosting

And so it begins! I personally love reading gift guide posts. Often I get new ideas or I see something amazing that I didn't even know existed. I have plans to do a few differently themed ones this year as per usual. I don't always do the same themes, though I do usually do this one for the host/hostess. A lot of my ideas are the same, but I've linked to newer options. This year, we are hosting the friends and going to my SIL/BIL's house for the family dinner. So I've got a mix this year!

Of course, the list of what to do and get done has grown to an unrealistic length. As a perfectionist, it's incredibly difficult to not put a lot of pressure on myself to get everything perfect for when our friends come. I know it is not realistic, but I am who I am. Any other perfectionists out there? May we all be a little easier on ourselves and remember that in the long run it doesn't matter nearly as much as our brain tells us it does.

Here are some of my favorite ideas for what to bring to the one hosting! Will you be hosting, traveling, or doing your own thing this year? I've done them all and love them all for very different reasons.

bblogger, bbloggers, bbloggerca, canadian beauty blogger, lifestyle, lblogger, for the host, hostess, for the one hosting, christmas, gift guide, magnolia table, voluspa, candle, cookbook, chapters, indigo, marble board, williams sonoma, canada blogger, dipping oil, pumpkin caramels, two oceans, wine, foodie, gift list
  • Flavored Dipping Oil (via Williams-Sonoma, $24.95 CA) - Is your host a bread lover or foodie? These are a perfect fit and might can even be put to use at dinner that night, because what holiday feast is complete without bread?!
  • Edible Treats (via Williams-Sonoma, call store for pricing) - Again, perfect for the foodies. Maybe bring a basket of treats, something they can use in baking, and just a little something they can enjoy when everyone leaves.
  • Wine (via Two Oceans (via Two Oceans, $10.95-18.95 CA) - For the party or after for the host to unwind. Find one of those cute wine gift bags and you have a gift that anyone can enjoy. Because if they don't drink it, they can cook with it...which is where most of my wine goes.
  • Cookbook or Coffee Table Book (via Chapters, $36.99 CA) - I just think that you can't go wrong with a pretty cookbook, coffee table book, or hobby book.
  • Home Scents (via Chapters, $25 CA) - Candles, diffusers, you name it. An item that makes your house smell good never goes out of style and is never not an useful gift.
  • Cheese or Cutting Board (via Chapters, $34.50 CA) - I am a firm believer of having multiple boards around. So many uses!

Valentine's Day Gift Guide for Him 2018

In the previous post, I shared a gift guide for the ladies. Now here's some ideas for the fellas in your life. Most guys seem to think shopping for them is so easy and maybe that's true and I just tend to overthink it. I wouldn't be surprised, as I'm definitely an overthinker on most things everything in life. But I've put together a small gift guide full of things that I think any guy would be appreciative of. Heck, I'd be appreciative of them. The most expensive item on the guide is the Fitbit Flex 2 at $80 CA.

You don't even have to go the gift route. Homemade baked goods, a cooked meal, a mixed tape (throwback!), a love letter...they are all winners! One year I made "Open When" letters and my husband loved them. He keeps them in one of his drawers and revisits them. It's all about however you want to celebrate, if you celebrate the day at all!

bbloggers, bbloggersca, canadian beauty bloggers, valentines day, gift guide, for him, chapters, chapters indigo, best buy, tile, parkland, duffle bag, arborist, work week sock set, fitbit flex 2, gentlemen's hardware, wash bag, swell, s'well, water bottle
  • Parkland View Duffle ($50 CA) - Perfect for the gym or keeping a change of clothes in the car for after work...or an overnight trip together! **wink wink**
  • Arborist Work Week Sock Set ($29 CA) - Five pairs of fun prints to up your man's sock game.
  • Fitbit Flex 2 ($80 CA) - Perfect for the active guys.
  • Tile Sport Bluetooth Tracker ($39.95 CA) - Do you know someone who keeps losing their keys? Wallet? Here's the solution!
  • Gentlemen's Hardware Wash Bag ($43.50 CA) - Step up the game even more by filling it up with a few of his favorite products.
  • S'well Oxford Bottle ($45 CA) - Because again, do I shut up about these beauts? No, I don't. Best water bottles around. Keeps water ice cold for 24+ hours!

Valentine's Day Gift Guide For Her 2018

It's coming. And you either love it or you hate it. I'm talking about Valentine's Day! I'm in the camp of those that never hated it. Even growing up and being forever single until I met my now husband, I never hated it. My family would make it special. My aunt was one of those that decorated for every holiday, so the house would be decked out in Valentine's Day decor. My grandma would get me a single rose and a few little knickknacks and chocolate. And I loved the days of filling out little Valentines for the class and having a class party. I mean, any excuse for a class party!

So if you're down for celebrating it, I thought I'd share a few fun things I think would make for great gifts for the special ladies in your life AND you. Because I would never tell you not to treat yourself, honestly quite the opposite! And maybe you might find something you like in this gift guide or maybe it will give you some ideas and that's exactly what I'm hoping for. The most expensive thing on the guide is $100 CA...because Tiffany. Everything else is $50 and below.

2017 Christmas Gift Guide: For Him and For Her

A little late getting the rest of my gift guides up this year, so I've combined the last two into one post. Besides, I can't be the only person who is still shopping at this point. Right? I'm early for everything except Christmas shopping. Never fails! Here are a few ideas for what to get for the girls and boys in your life. Nothing I linked to specifically is over $50 CA.

bbloggers, bbloggersca, canadian beauty bloggers, christmas, holiday, gift guide, 2017, for him, for her, for guys, for girls, chapters, sephora, swell bottle, s'well, socks, bite beauty, colourpop, elizabeth and james, nirvana
  • Water Bottle - I personally love the S'well brand and I like this new shape they offer. Throw a bit of ice in and these keep my water ice cold all day long. I tested it when I first got mine and it averaged 26 hours before the ice was completely gone and the water started to go to room temperature.
  • Makeup Set - I love sets like these. You can gift the whole thing or break it up into smaller gifts for more people.
  • Eyeshadow Palette - You can't go wrong with palettes. You can find them at various price points and there's something for everyone.
  • Reading Socks - I can't think of one person who hasn't gotten socks or slippers at least one holiday. And you better believe that I found the polar bear ones while making this list and now I need them in my life. Obviously (hi, I'm Wendy and I'm obsessed with polar bears).
  • Pretty Winter Gear - I am a firm believer that you don't need to spend a lot of money on cute gear for colder months. I've ruined too many expensive scarves because the dang things get caught in jacket zippers. Hats and gloves fall out of pockets and into snow. The hassles of winter!
  • Fragrance Set -  Fragrance is such a personal thing, but the receiver of a gift like this is likely to find something they like.
bbloggers, bbloggersca, canadian beauty bloggers, christmas, holiday, gift guide, 2017, for him, for her, for guys, for girls, chapters, best buy, google chromecast, die hard christmas, bobs burgers, portable charger, socks, archie, comics, book, soundtrack
  • Google Chromecast - I love mine. Actually, make that LOVE. Capital letters are needed. It's just so convenient for Netflix, YouTube, watching things from your phone...I keep hoping Twitter will update their software so that I can also watch Twitter Live.
  • Die Hard Christmas - My husband is in the "it's a Christmas movie" boat, while I most certainly am not. He feels like this book proves his point.
  • Bob's Burgers CD - Or any music they like. My husband and I happen to be obsessed with Bob's Burgers and he was pretty excited when this soundtrack was announced. Where are all of my Bob's Burgers fans at?! Oh, nice things are nice!
  • Portable Charger - Always needed.
  • Reading Socks - Lined with fleece to keep his feet super warm.
  • Hobby/Book - Going off of a hobby will never lead you wrong. My guy happens to love Archie, because that's what he grew up on and it always takes him back. I get him at least one Archie book every Christmas!

2017 Christmas Gift Guide: For the One Hosting

I covered stocking stuffers in my first gift guide of this season. For my next, I'm tackling a few gifts that would be perfect to give to the person hosting your next shindig. I tried to focus on affordable gifts, so nothing on this list that I have specifically linked to is over $30 CA.

bblogger, bbloggersca, canadian beauty bloggers, beauty blog, lifestyle blogger, host, hostess gifts, chapters, chapters indigo, williams-sonoma, gift guide, gift ideas, mugs, wine, two oceans wines, cheese board, reed diffuser, sauces, cooking, coffee table book
  • Wine - This combo pack of Two Oceans Wines are only available during the festive season and perfect as gifts. It includes a bottle of  Sauvignon Blanc and Cabernet Sauvignon Merlot. Wine is always a good gift for a party!
  • Cheese Board - No party is complete without a cheese spread. Maybe your host can't put this to use on the actual night of the party, but I guarantee it will definitely see the light of day.
  • Reed Diffuser - I love a good candle, but reed diffusers are amazing. They last a long time and scent a room in no time.
  • Sauces - I love having a multitude of sauces, jams, and the likes in my fridge at all times. A must for a foodie!
  • Coffee Table Book - The more visually stunning or funny the better, depending on which route you take.
  • Mugs - The more mugs the merrier, right?!

Christmas 2017 Gift Guide: Stocking Stuffers

Yes, the time is among us. And honestly, I'm later than some at getting my gift guides started but consider this the beginning of quite a few holiday posts to come. There never seems to be a shortage of posts and inspiration come November and December. Anyone disagree? Such an exciting time of the year! Today, I'm delving into my first gift guide on stocking stuffer ideas. None of the specific items I put on this list is over $15 CA. Hope this gives you some ideas and you can certainly leave more ideas in the comments!

Gift Guide: Valentine's Day 2017

Valentine's Day is just around the corner! I'm not sure how that happened, because I could have sworn we just welcomed in a new year and now we're already nearing the second month. It's been a dreary month here with hardly any sunshine, which is not great when I have quite a few blog photos I need to take. I know cloudy days are best anyway, but not when it is as dark as it has been most days. When the clouds are just right, you can probably find me taking what feels like 50,000 photos.

Maybe it's because it has been dreary or maybe because Valentine's Day is coming up, I've been surrounding myself with color. Red lips, pink nails, bright accessories, whatever it takes to liven things up a bit! Today, I'm sharing some things I think any girl would love to receive (or buy for herself! #treatyoself) on Valentine's Day.

bbloggers, bbloggersca, canadian beauty bloggers, valentines day, gift guide, 2017, too faced chocolate bon bons palette, sephora, chanel chance eau tendre, s'well, water bottle, hearts, pandora charm bracelet, essie, just stitched
  • Makeup - A given, but especially something sweet like the Too Faced Chocolate Bon Bons palette. This bad boy screams "I'm perfect for Valentine's Day!".
  • Perfume - Something light and delicate like the Chanel Chance Eau Tendre will be a hit.
  • Jewelry - You don't have to break the bank unless you want to. I'm always happy with a new Pandora charm for my bracelet.
  • Nail Polish - A great gift to give your best friend! The one shown is Just Stitched.
  • Gym Gear - For the health nut...or not. I don't consider myself a health or gym nut by any means, but I have to stay active for my knee since breaking it. Yoga pants, mats, etc. are always welcomed in my eyes! But my main attraction is my S'well water bottle. One of the best things I've bought in recent months and keeps my water ice cold all day!
  • Experience - I love sentimental value over everything else. Write a love letter or try baking something. Movie night, dinner out, slow dancing in the kitchen after a meal at home. Those types of things and events are what stick out in the end. Even the year that my husband tried to make me dinner (he avoids cooking like it is the plague) and I found out the hard way that I am allergic to lobster is still one of the best memories. But yeah, no lobster in my future... :)

Gift Guide 2016: For the Guys

Always my hardest gift guide to put together. I don't care how long I have been married, I still find it a daunting task to pick out gifts for my husband. And heck, any other male in my life, honestly. My husband is pretty easy going and I am quite fluent in what he likes, but I put a lot of pressure on myself to get just the right things. Sometimes we just need to stop overthinking things and just get them what they like, no matter how simple or "everyday" we think something is.

For instance, my husband hates buying for himself and had rather put others first. So I know things like clothes, socks, underwear, etc. are needed come birthdays and Christmas. I always think about how boring these things are, but they are so useful. Sure, I'm going to throw some fun things in this list, but it's okay to buy daily items too and they'll be appreciated just the same!

bbloggers, bbloggersca, canadian beauty bloggers, holiday gift guide, christmas, for guys, wilber's war, nautica voyage, james bond, ideas, affordable gifts, boyfriends, husbands, fathers, friends
  • Book - Something in their interest- music, sports, grilling, etc. I've been reading Wilber's War* and it's perfect if you have a history buff on your hands. It follows the Bradt family story as told by Wilber's son, Hale. He read through some 700 letters that his father had written and started piecing this book together. I have the abridged version, but from what I have read, the longer trilogy is worth the time to read. Wilber did not die in the war, but from it. Once home, he committed suicide suffering likely from what is now known as post-traumatic stress disorder. It is a heavy read, but still stands so true today with many families experiencing this same type of loss.
  • Movie - And promise a movie night with it. There's something to be said about a quiet night at home, cuddled on the couch, and watching a movie together.
  • Cologne - Maybe repurchase his signature scent or buy one that could become one.
  • Accessories - Scarves, gloves, sunglasses, slippers, and anything else that he always needs and never seems to have!
  • Tickets - Sporting event, concert, movie, plane. Whatever kind. It's all about experiencing something together!
  • Necessities - Underwear, socks, grooming products, you name it.

You can get more ideas from my past holiday gift guides for guys: 2014 and 2015. And yes, a lot of the ideas are similar. I'm learning that with guys, why fix what isn't broken?! I hope you all have a great weekend!

Gift Guide 2016: For the Pets

On my Christmas list, you'll also find things I want for Indy. I just can't help it! He has his own stocking and we'll wrap his other gifts in tissue paper, because he loves ripping into it and tearing it to shreds. It's still a little sad to look over at the tree and not see our cat Jade nestled under it. It will be our second Christmas without her and I still half expect to hear the ornaments rustle as her tail hits them. Our little Santa Paws is bringing lots of holiday spirit, though!

In this guide, I will try to share not only cute pet things for dogs and cats but also include other animals. Hey, I get it. I grew up with fish, a snake, iguanas, dogs, cats, and a rabbit at various parts of my life. Here are a few things that I think your beloved little friends will love!
bbloggers, bbloggersca, canadian beauty bloggers, gift guide, for pets, dogs, cats, small pets, fish, reptiles, christmas, holidays, ideas

  • Pet Toy Stocking - I love pre-packaged stockings like these. Sometimes you can find them 50% off after Christmas!
  • Christmas Dinner - If you're having a holiday feast, so should they!
  • Holiday Costume - You have to do a photo session with your pet or you're just not doing it right.
  • Friendship Collar - A collar for them (dogs and cats) and a matching bracelet for you. LOVE!
  • Leash - This is on my Christmas list for Indy. I like the removable keyfob.
  • Tank Decorations - Ones with hiding places are always a winner.

Gift Guide 2016: For the Hosts

Before I dive in to today's gift guide, I just want to mention Gatlinburg, TN. I considered the place my second home growing up. It was where I was married and spent my honeymoon. And it is still one of my favorite places to vacation when I am heading back home for a visit. This past week, Gatlinburg has been battling fires and it is devastating and heartbreaking. My thoughts and prayers go out to everyone there. And if you can manage it, please consider donating to the Red Cross or the Gatlinburg Relief Fund.

Now back to regularly scheduled programming! Here is my gift guide for the host and/or hostess. You can also see my past hostess gift guides: 2014 and 2015.

bbloggers, bbloggersca, canadian beauty bloggers, two oceans pinot grigio, williams sonoma pancake mix, soap set, poo pourri, ornament, gift guide, holiday, christmas, wine review, candle
  • Wine* - One like Two Oceans' Pinot Grigio won't break the bank. With tastes of pear, peach, and lychee, you can't go wrong. This one is crisp and dry with a clean finish and would pair well with the appetizer round. For the price, you can grab two and not feel guilty about it. Holidays are meant to indulge and gabbing around the appetizers at a party is one of the best parts about holiday get togethers.
  • Poo Pourri* - Yes, really! It saves on the embarrassing bathroom smells and works like a charm.
  • Candle - Who doesn't love candles?!
  • Food - A cheese tray, pancake mix, homemade brownies, etc.
  • Ornament - I love ornaments that tell a story or have a memory behind them and this way the host will have an ornament to remind them of the party for years to come!
  • Soap Set - Soap always comes in handy. Even better if it is in a nice caddy as a set.

Gift Guide 2016: For the Girly Girls

Where do I start? This is the easiest and hardest gift guide to do. Why? Because how does one narrow down all of the pretty things into one compiled list? It's not easy and there are plenty more things I could have added to this post, but I have to draw the line somewhere. With that said, these are some of my favorite gifts and gift ideas right now for the ladies in your life (or you!).

  • Scarves - You can't go wrong.
  • Perfume - Rollerball perfumes are perfect for gifts.
  • Makeup - Buy gift sets and split them up among friends. You save money and everyone wins!
  • Jewelry - Something personalized or a charm for a bracelet is always a winner. (I'm a fan of LovePendants!)
  • Sentimental Gifts - A framed picture, concert tickets for you to enjoy together, etc.

I hope everyone in the States has a lovely Thanksgiving! I am taking a short staycation and will be back to posting next week. Hope you all have a great rest of the week!

Gift Guide 2016: Stocking Stuffers

And so begins my gift guides for this year! I thought I would start with stocking stuffers. Obviously, this is leaning more toward the ladies but I do have a gift guide coming up for the men in your life. I like to view stockings as the opportunity to throw the little knickknacks in that you may not want to wrap and put under the tree. I think of stockings as being the stress free version of gift giving. It doesn't have that added pressure of "getting it perfect", which is really unfair of us to put on ourselves in the first place.

So here are some of my favorite stocking stuffers and ideas!

  • Nail Polish - With thousands of options, you can't go wrong.
  • Brush Cleaner - All beauty lovers need to keep their tools in top shape.
  • Makeup - I mean, obviously. And many brands exist that won't break the bank.
  • Travalo - Scent is a personal thing, but this lets them carry their fave with them everywhere.
  • Lip Balm - Always needed.
  • Gift Cards - One of my favorite gifts to get and give. I don't think it is taboo at all.
  • Candy or Snacks - A classic stocking stuffer for a reason. My seasonal fave are the Reese's trees!
  • Hand Lotion - Winter brings dry skin. Nip it in the bud!
  • Hair Ties - Those darn things never last long enough.
  • Cute Notebooks and Pens - A girl can never have too many.
  • Gloves - Never a bad gift if you live in a colder climate.
  • Socks - The cuter the better, I say.
  • Tech Accessories - Phone cases, selfie lights, screen protectors. You can't go wrong!
