February 2018 Faves

Yay, March is almost here! Why am I so excited? Because it's my anniversary month and we always go on a short trip together. Sometimes we travel a fair distance and sometimes not. This time, I'm looking for closer locations. Since we are taking our dog with us, a shorter trip to where we are going is beneficial and I am looking for places that are really pet-friendly. We also always go somewhere that we have never been to together, so that we can explore and everything is new to at least one of us. It's probably my favorite tradition that we have! Do you have a favorite tradition with your spouse? Or plan on making a new one this year? I love hearing about traditions!

February is such a short month, making my favorites fairly easy to pick out. Is it pretty much all pink and florals? Yes. Like that's even a surprise if you've been following me a while. Haha! Something about the month of love, y'all! And the other eleven months...but never mind that information...

DAVIDsTEA Valentine's Day 2018 Collection

DAVIDsTEA put out such a pretty collection for Valentine's Day this year! A collection full of pinks, florals, and rose gold will always win me over. If they had put marble in there, I might have fallen over from swooning so much. My husband knows these things and y'all...the man got me some winners from the collection for Valentine's Day. And don't worry, they still have some of it available online and you might can get lucky in stores before they run out of stock.

The Rose Gold Perfect Tumbler really is perfect. They often offer different colors and designs, but I love the rose gold. It fits into cup holders easily and keeps drinks hot or cold for around 9 hours. And the clear top slides open to perfectly fit a straw for your cold drinks. Now I can use my S'well bottle that I love so much for my water and carry this for my other drinks. I'm a bit of a hydration-holic.

The Peony Pink So Rosy Tea Tin is so cute. I'm torn between using it for my tea storage or using it on my vanity. Definitely the prettiest tea tin I have seen yet! As far as the teas go, he got me a pouch of the Sweet Tart tea that is limited edition. Apparently, it's a big hit and has been flying off the shelves. They seem to only have it in the travel pouch online now. And to celebrate Chinese New Year, they gave him a pouch of Goji Green.

Also in the collection, is the Rose Gold Perfect Spoon. My husband got me the gold one when it first came out one Christmas, so I guess he's keeping with a theme. He grabbed me four other spoons just because- lilac, cornflower, silver, and dewdrop. There's a lot of colors available and limited ones that come out here and there, so I think he might be on a "buy all the spoons!!" mission now. Oh boy! I guess now I need to find the best way to display these, as it feels wrong to shove them in a kitchen drawer. They are great spoons though, perfect for scooping out tea and coffee!

DAVIDsTEA brought out a heck of a Valentines Collection this year. I can't even pick favorites from it. There are more items online and again they are still available right now! And if you go to DAVIDsTEA, please tell me your favorite tea(s) that you get. When I go, I find I often focus on the LE and holiday teas and not so much their everyday options!

Hello San Francisglow! by Benefit

This set is still available, but I'm not sure that it is part of their permanent line. I don't think it is, but every product in the set is. January 2018 Favorites

I think I started feeling the vibes of Valentine's Day a little early, because I have felt this gravitational pull to all things pink and red. Okay, to be fair, I usually go for pink any day of the week...but the need has been stronger. Though this is my January favorites, I've definitely taken these same products into my February rotation. InstaMonth for January 2018

Maybe it's because February is a short month, but it feels like it is going by quickly. It feels like I just did my December InstaMonth recap only a few days ago and here we are again. This year is going as fast as Instagram changes its algorithm! #shade

I'm still working on changing a few of my edits and shots to keep things a little more fresh. The algorithm does me no favors and I feel like it takes a lot of work to get your pictures seen today. I've thought about just posting all of my photos on my Twitter and Pinterest, but I've loved Instagram for so long and want to believe in it so badly. So I just keep pushing through and appreciate everyone that considers my account worthy enough of a follow and any of my pictures that are worthy enough for a like.

I just want you to know that if you have doubts about your growth, your blog...you're not alone. And some people are going to love what you put out there and some are going to keep on walking. But don't change what you're doing. Keep at it! Keep pushing yourself to make YOU proud, not others. Find what niche works for you. Post at your own schedule. Stop comparing so often. There are a lot of YouTube accounts, bloggers, etc. out there, but there is only one you. Don't bend to be something you are not. Don't let someone else tell you what you need to be, what you need to be doing, and how to do it. Your blog should be your vision and your voice. You've got this.

Blog of the Month: February 2018

In January, Laura from Lipstick and Laura was my featured blogger. You can read that post and see other past featured blogs under the "blog of the month" label! Being my blog of the month gets you a designated blog post, a sidebar button, and a mention on my Twitter account. The sidebar button stays up all month long. I don't believe in necessarily making bloggers pay for advertising and I'd much rather show you blogs that I really enjoy reading. And I hope you end up enjoying them too!

This month, the featured blogger is Trecee from Treceefabulous. I'm not sure if our love is mutual, I'm certainly not sure that she reads my blog. But I've been following Trecee's blog for a good while now. :) She does cover a few different topics, but I especially love her beauty posts. Her latest Sephora haul has me living vicariously in the best way. I can't wait to see what she thinks about all of the items! If you stop by her blog, feel free to let her know I sent you.

Valentine's Day Gift Guide for Him 2018

In the previous post, I shared a gift guide for the ladies. Now here's some ideas for the fellas in your life. Most guys seem to think shopping for them is so easy and maybe that's true and I just tend to overthink it. I wouldn't be surprised, as I'm definitely an overthinker on most things everything in life. But I've put together a small gift guide full of things that I think any guy would be appreciative of.
