Currently: In My Shower

Continuing with my "Currently" series, I thought I'd share what I have been using the past while in my shower. I first shared a post like this last summer, which you can read here. And tell me what you have in your shower! Any HG products that you will always repurchase?

  • L'Occitane's Almond Shower Oil. Holy amazing! I don't like the smell at all while I'm using it, as I find it too strong. Once it has melted into my skin though, it smells so clean and fresh. I find it really works well with my dry skin.
  • Victoria's Secret Pure Seduction body wash. It smells so dreamy! I layer this with the body spray when I use it. It's just such a nice fruity scent that I find perfect for warmer months!
  • EOS Shave Cream. Again, I love how well this works for my dry skin. I just feel like it moisturizes my legs nicely during and after I shave. Both the raspberry and vanilla scents are yummy, but I like the raspberry one for spring and summer and vanilla in the fall and winter. I associate certain kinds of scents with seasons. Can't help it!
  • Aussie 3 Minute Miracle conditioner. HG status! I can't tell you how many times I have repurchased this since discovering it in high school. So so good.
  • Schwarzkopf Cell-U-Plex shampoo. My Bumble and bumble shampoo is out, so I grabbed this from my stock. I have really thin hair and I must say, I really notice a difference when using this shampoo. I use it with my Bumble and bumble Thickening Serum and I do notice considerable volume.
  • The Body Shop Coconut Body Scrub. I love their scrubs. I don't find it to be too rough on the skin like some others that I have tried. When using this scent, I pair it with their coconut milk body lotion or the coconut body butter after my shower. To quote myself from above, so so good.

Bathroom Storage Pics via Instagram

First off, let me just say that I was asked to write my first guest post over on Emily's blog! :) I talk about my top five favorite MAC neutral eyeshadows for fall. The blog post is up now, if you guys want to go take a look! And please check out Emily's blog. She's great! ♥

I posted these pictures on my Instagram a few days ago, but I thought they'd make a good post on their own. It's just how I store some things in my bathroom. When my bathroom is organized, I just feel better. I like the room where I start my day getting ready to be pleasing to the eyes and it needs to be easy for me to grab what I need without searching.

This is the left corner of my bathroom counter. The pink basket on the left holds my leave-in conditioners, heat spray, dry shampoo, combs, etc. The pink basket on the right holds my mouthwash, deodorant, hair straightener, curling iron, and a few other little things. The striped circular tin is from Ikea. I covered the original tin with wrapping paper so that it would better fit in with my decor. It holds most of my facial items. Then the clear jar holds cotton squares and Q-Tips.

This iron tray was gifted to us by friends. To be honest, I'm not really sure what it was meant for (I think maybe it's a bread holder?). So I brought into my bathroom and found another use for it. I really like to try to find other uses for things! This sits in the right corner of my bathroom counter. It's the perfect size to hold a few Body Shop back-ups, a Victoria's Secret PINK lotion, and my washcloths.

And I have these resting on my mirror's shelf. These are my favorite Bath & Body Works scents at the moment, so I like to have them showcased and easy to grab. From the left, there is Secret Wonderland spray (in the holder), Secret Wonderland lotion, Charmed Life spray, Pink Chiffon spray, and two Caribbean Escape candles.

So there's a few areas of my bathroom. I've already shown what's in my shower, as well. Hopefully this gives you some storage or organization tips! Have a great weekend!

Tuesday Blahs...

Ok, so I made that post about Ikea tins that I bought the other day. The sizes and prices were perfect, but I decided the neon colors were not going to work with the decor that I am looking for. I'm wanting a soft pink and flowery bathroom and I need it all to tie in together. Therefore I did something that I have been doing since college. It's great idea if you want to change something you have instead of buying something new. I'm all about recycling and reusing!

I take a tin or a canister and measure it. Then, I find some really pretty wrapping paper and cut out the right size. You can use glue or tape to paste the paper on the canisters. In college, I'd have an empty Pringles can or something like that and cover it up like this. It made for a great container to hold my loose colored pencils. :)

To give you an idea, here is a before and after shot of my bathroom counter. Click on pictures to go to my Flickr for bigger images, if you'd like. :)

Renovations and Inspiration.

Currently watching: The Simpsons
Currently upset: Steven Page left Barenaked Ladies
Currently feeling: accomplished

I don't think I've ever made a post like this on here. First time for everything! I'm in the middle of redecorating my bathroom. I want it bright and girly, as it is the only room in our condo that is truly mine. I'll share a few pictures of some of the things I have purchased and tell you what I've done with each of them. :) After taking three hours to clean my bathroom up the other night, it really motivated me to organize it even more and just made me realize that it all needed a facelift. I'll try to remember to take a picture when it's all done.

3 tin set from Ikea
I already owned one set of these that I keep all of my hairbows in. I bought this second set to hold more of my hair things in the two larger tins. I have a lot of hair things! I use the little one to hold my eyeliners and lipliners.

3 tin set from Ikea
The big one is being used as my makeup tray. The medium one is storing my nail polishes, clippers, and other nail care items. And the round one is being used to hold my toothpaste, facial sponge, daily lotion, and other little things.

3 tin set from Ikea
The big one is being used to store my hair straightener and curling iron. The medium one is storing cough drops, medicine, etc. that would not fit into my medicine cabinet. And the small one is holding my makeup brushes.

floral DKNY shower curtain from Bed, Bath, & Beyond
This is my new shower curtain. I got just a basic white liner to go with it. I wanted a simple shower curtain to draw attention to my new hot pink bath rug.

flower shower hooks from Bed, Bath, and Beyond
I had to have these the minute I saw them! They are adorable!

As for under the sink organization, I bought a pull-out tiered unit from Bed, Bath, and Beyond that I am using to store my bath gels, razors, etc. And I got a big shelving tray that I will be using to create more space under there. I have one on top of my bathroom counter that has created tons of room!

I'm thinking of painting my walls pink. I'm also thinking of covering a few of the tins that I bought with a floral wallpaper as to bring out the flowers in the shower curtain. I have yet to decide. I want to see what it all looks like together first. So hopefully this post has inspired you with a little creativity and motivation! :)

XOXO
