The Chalets on Lake Muskoka - Gravenhurst, ON

It's been a while since I have done a travel post, but now is a good time to talk about our recent getaway that's partly responsible for the quick little break between this and my last post. We traveled to Gravenhurst, Ontario to stay on Lake Muskoka.

To celebrate my husband's birthday, we booked a few nights at The Chalets on Lake Muskoka through Travelzoo. If you've been a reader a long time now, you know I love finding a good deal! Travel is no different and Travelzoo often has some great offers, local, exotic, and everything in between. Not just travel, but experiences as well!

The Chalets on Lake Muskoka, from what I could find, recently changed ownership and is now a female-owned Canadian company. Booking was a breeze and communication was top notch and timely.

One of the absolute best parts is that they are pet-friendly. Archie enjoyed his vacation very much. His days were spent soaking up the sun and attention from the construction crew and falling asleep in one of the chairs in the living room as nightfall came. The construction crew are currently staying on site doing upgrades during the week and they were the nicest small group of guys and the upgrades are going to be great when they finish!

We stayed in the Moose chalet, which is close to the unloading parking area. There are little carts to help with luggage. Leaving our vehicle to go open up the place for us to be able to unload, a little chipmunk came around the porch and just ran around me. Out of the car and already having a Snow White moment? I knew it was going to be a good vacation!

The Moose has a full kitchen, dining area, living room with an electric fireplace, a full bath, and a large deck on the ground floor. The top floor has the two bedrooms- one on the left with two beds, a double and a twin and the one on the right having a queen bed with a skylight above it and a walkout lookout with the lake view.

The kitchen has a lot of the necessities, the deck has a grill, and they supply all of the linens aside from beach towels. As someone who sleeps with a fan, I truly appreciated that they even had a tower fan in the bedroom! The mattress was comfortable, though I had to double up on pillows because they were a little flimsy.

Having gone in May, the water was much too cold to enjoy. However, it's the place to be as summer sets in. They've got a nice deck with paddle boats, a water trampoline, a slide, swings over the water, and easy steps to go into their shallow beach. There's multiple fire pits and sitting areas. I'd be lying if I said we did not want to return. I am happy we went prior to the summer rush, because we got to experience the true peace and quiet that being lakefront and out of the city can bring. I do bet that water felt amazing this week with the crazy heatwave we just had!

If you're looking for a cabin or chalet getaway that is pet-friendly and has practically all of the amenities you could want and need, look no further than The Chalets on Lake Muskoka in Gravenhurst, Ontario!
