October Favorites

All pink in honor of Breast Cancer Awareness Month! What I have been loving this month! :)

Group shot with a lovely overload of pink. Okay, so the outer cases of the lipstick and compact aren't actually pink...the product is!

Philosophy Apricots and Cream body lotion, MAC Lazy Day (To the Beach), OPI's Bubble Bath, MAC English Accents lipglass (Give Me Liberty of London), and MAC Oh So Fair beauty powder (Venomous Villains).

My Canon SD1400IS camera, Coach wristlet, Nintendo DS Lite, Blackberry Curve 9300, and my new Finsbury Filofax.

Feel free to share your current faves with me! And Happy Halloween weekend, if you celebrate!

A Goodie Package!

Mail from Linh! I was very surprised to see what she sent me. Now to think about what I can send in return! ;) And just so you guys know, I'm always up for swap buddies. If ever interested in doing a swap with me, just shoot me an email (wendy@fashionableheart.com)!

Linh, thank you so much! You are such a sweetheart. ♥ I love everything you sent me!

I've never tried Vaseline lip products, but I can't wait to try this. With Toronto's harsh winter months just around the corner, I'm always in need of lip protectant and balms.

Wet n Wild Ultimate Expressions in Paradise Cove. Lovely colors! I don't think I have tried Wet n Wild eyeshadows since the 1990s. They sure have changed (for the better)!

This has been on my wishlist for awhile now. While I own both Orgasm and Laguna, I really wanted the duo compact. Being my favorite blush and bronzer, I wanted the duo for traveling. I travel a lot and sets like this make it so much easier to pack up my makeup bag and creates a little extra space at the same time. You better believe this is going in my pack next month when I head home for Thanksgiving and Disney World! ;D

Come back tomorrow for a special edition of my October Favorites!

UD BOS III

Here are my swatches of the Urban Decay Book of Shadows III. It is currently in stock at sephora.com and retails for $54US/$65CA. It is pretty steep in price, but the amount of product you are getting is well worth it. Seven of the sixteen eyeshadows are new colors, with Haight and Psychedelic Sister being two shades that are typically exclusive to Sephora.

This is my first BOS, as I skipped out on the first and second ones only because they didn't really catch my eye. I feel like they spent a lot of time deciding on the color selection in this one and it really paid off.

^Perversion (similar to MAC Carbon), Uzi, Loaded (a black/green duochrome), Kush

^Midnight Cowboy Rides Again, Last Call, Rockstar (and Rockstar 24/7 liner above for comparison), Money

^Haight, Maui Wowie, Smog, Bordello

^Radium (which I find very similar to Haight when swatched), Snatch, Suspect, Psychedelic Sister

^Zero and Ransom 24/7 liners

I am super excited to have a Rockstar eyeshadow to match my Rockstar eyeliner! My favorite shades in the palette would have to be: Rockstar, Money, Bordello, and Suspect. I recommend this. This palette is quite capable of both colorful and neutral looks!

UDPP Professional Size (Please Read)

Between my other UDPPs, my Too Faced Shadow Insurance, MAC Paint Pots, etc. etc., I truly did not need to get this. BUT then where is the fun in that? I wanted to jump at this chance because I was already ordering something online (it's online only) and it is limited edition. Now let's get down to my review.

The only thing I do not like about the original UDPP is the packaging. The formula works well, so it is a shame that better thought did not go into the bottle. While the facade is pretty, I don't like the idea of all of the wasted product that the brush cannot get to. Such a waste! Then, they came out with this wonderful squeeze tube and it was as though Heaven's gates opened and the Hallelujah chorus was blaring from God's radio system. Geez, guess that statement shows just how happy makeup makes me...or maybe just how corny I am. OK, both. :D

Then, the Hallelujah chorus stopped. I went to take the pictures and was squeezing the tube to try and get some product out. The bottom seam split open making almost all of the product spill out onto my carpet. Fantastic. I seemed to have received a faulty product. Just my luck. I have already contacted Sephora's customer service and I'm just waiting to hear from them. I also wrote a message on Urban Decay's wall on Facebook so that they know. I hope that what happened to me is an isolated case.

I like the top. I found it hard to squeeze out. I do not mind that too much, because that will help to not have too much to come out at one time. And of course by the time I was finally getting some product to the top, the bottom opened. Therefore since I have a faulty tube, I do not know if other tubes are as hard to squeeze the product out at the top.

And that would be all of the product that fell out. Lucky for me that UDPP is more of a solid, because it sure would be a pain had it been liquid.

And in these three pictures, you can see where the seam split.

This is making me think that the original packaging may just not be that bad after all...

ETA: I have heard from a few people and read a few reviews where this has happened to them. So check the bottom of the packaging before you try to use it and end up with a mess, if you order this.

My Sephora Goodies

As you know, I made an online order on Sephora. I got my package last week! This is just a first glance at the products. I'll share my reviews, swatches, and further pictures about most of the products in different posts as not to crowd too much in one post.

When you order online, you get the option to pick three samples from a small selection. Nothing truly interested me this time except for the Korres Yoghurt Cooling Gel.

Group shot!

This is definitely going to be added to my favorite fall nail polishes. It's unlike any color that I own. It's a shimmery brown and gorgeous! There is nothing to dislike...even the name is fashionable! :)

Zero and Rockstar were my top Urban Decay eyeliners. Then, I got this beauty. This fall, Zero is going to take the backseat and Rockstar and Stash are hanging out in the front!

This tube is pretty big. It will last a long time!

The Benefit VIB gift. Love everything in it!

I love the selection of colors in this palette.

Again, I'll have extended posts on most of the items (the eyeliner, UDPP, Benefit, and palette). Perhaps a pointless post...but I never find anything wrong with a blog post made of pictures of makeup, though maybe I'm just a tad odd for that! Am I the only one?! :D

New Blackberry!

I know, I know...I just got my other phone in January. However, it never seemed to work right. I was having to do battery pulls on it about three times a week. The internet took forever to load and my trackball kept getting stuck. The guys at Telus tried to talk to me like an idiot and tell me to do what I had already tried doing. Telus said they could fix my phone for free since it was under warranty, but it would still be the exact same way really...since all they would do is put it back to factory settings. So I decided that I have outgrown my Blackberry Curve 8330 and it wasn't worth going phone free for a month while they tinkered around with it! I did not feel to bad saying goodbye to it because I had gotten it for free when I had renewed my contract.

So I upgraded to the Blackberry 3G (9300) and it is LOVE LOVE LOVE. It took me a little while to get used to the new trackpad, but it is perfection. It makes scrolling so much easier! It runs on the 3G network and is much faster. I recommend the 9300 over the 8530 in the current models, because it looks better and it is OS 6 compatible. Now to just wait until OS 6 is released! The keyboard is very similar to my 8330, which I'm happy about. It also offers Wi-Fi and more memory. I can still run my favorite theme on it (Reverie- search for it on crackberry!).

Does anyone else have this phone? If you still have an older phone and you're looking for an upgrade in the Curve series, I do recommend this phone. I'm very pleased with it and I haven't had to do a single battery pull. If there is one thing I miss from the 8330, it would be the camera flash. The 3G comes loaded with more games and applications, as well as threaded SMS messages. I know I don't talk about technology that often, but I'm a technology addict! Hope this helped any of you out that might be in the market for a new phone that won't break your wallet. If you have the older 8330 and you have more questions about how these two compare, just let me know. I'll try to help.

Now, I just have to find some cute cases! :)

I hope you all have a great weekend! Happy Thanksgiving to my Canadian readers! I won't be updating on Monday due to the holiday, so I'll be back on Tuesday. ♥

Old Navy Fall/Winter Haul

Sorry to not have posted yesterday as I normally would. I was super busy. I'll let you know now that I might not be posting much this week because I have a lot on my plate!

I ordered a few things from Old Navy to have shipped to my mom's house when I go down next month for Thanksgiving. Yay! I also figured this keeps me from having to pack as much for going down...coming back is a different story, but it always is for this shopaholic. ;)

I wanted to get this up earlier so I could tell you guys about the online sale they were having (30% off), but I FAIL. They have a great clearance section right now and I got free shipping on top of the 30% off. Not too shabby! If you like anything, they are all still available on the website. Some of the items are also on the Canadian website for those of you in Canada.

OK, I'll admit it. I like jeggings. I have two pairs from Target that I am in love with, so I thought I would try these. They are perfect during colder weather because they are much easier to tuck in boots! The PJ bottoms look like they will be super comfy with an oversized night shirt over them.

I'm a sucker for tunics. I plan on wearing these with the jeggings, so that is four outfits right there! I already have the bottom two shirts in different colors and they are so cute under cardigans.

Old Navy boots and slippers are about the only brand I will wear. I find their boots really fit my feet and calves well. I already have tan and black, so I thought gray was a good fit. I figure they are less likely to show so much dirt through the harsh winter months.

Have you been shopping lately for your fall and winter clothes? They are my favorite seasons and I always find it fun to shop for them! I get so much joy out of cozy clothes and cooler weather! ♥

P.S.- Thank you to all of those that offered prayers and thoughts for my uncle. He's home from the hospital now and healing. It's so nice to know that he's in the comfort of his home now!

MAC Venomous Villains Pics/Video

To cut back on have a whole bunch of pictures in one blog post, I've made a YouTube video. You can see the packaging throughout, as well as a few pictures at the end. Swatches are below!

Click to go to YT and watch it in a bigger size.

Everything together. The plain black lipstick is the Creme d'Nude that I compare to Innocence, Beware! below.

Comparison between Creme d'Nude and Innocence, Beware! Innoncence looks a little more pink, but is extremely similar to Creme d'Nude.

I tried my best to capture the way this reflects. So pretty! I'm going to attempt not biting my nails so that I can rock it. :)

A very pretty brownish burgundy color!

I apologize for Truth & Light not showing up very well. It was near impossible to get a picture of it.

Creme d'Nude is a part of the permanent lipstick line!

I also already owned Resort Life from when it launched with the Lillyland Collection. I completely forgot to swatch it again. If you go under my MAC tag, you will find the swatch. I think it is getting more buzz than it deserves. It's an ok color, but it's more glitter than anything. It is really pretty in the tube, but unfortunately that color does not transfer to the lips.
