Fresh Beauty Rose Deep Hydration Serum and Lip Cream

I was given the opportunity to try these products to review from Fresh Beauty c/o Influenster. I've tried their Soy Makeup Removing Face Wash and their lip balms, but that has been my extent into the brand before now. I didn't hate the soy face wash, but it didn't blow me away. I suppose it just didn't wet my whistle enough to dive in deeper to Fresh's skincare. The joke is on me though, if their skincare is as good as one of the products you're about to read about is. Needless to say, I now want to try more of the rose line and maybe the Sugar Strawberry Exfoliating Face Wash. I'm getting ahead of myself. Let's see what it is about these products that has made me want to add more Fresh Beauty to my beauty wishlist!

I've been forthcoming with my extreme pickiness when it comes to rose scents, usually hating them and rarely loving them. I usually try to get past it though, because man do I love the benefits of rose in skincare products. This scent falls in the middle for me, but it doesn't last long on the skin nor does it give me a headache. I give that a win. If you love rose scents, you'll have nothing against this one or the lip balm.

A thing that might be a hiccup for you is the price. It's $78 CA at Sephora. I think a lot of us would be in the grouping that considers that pricey (though certainly not the most expensive serum I've seen). So it better be darn good, right? It is!

I've said it so many times before, but I have very dry skin. And while I think this can work for all skin types, I can only speak for my own. It's hard for me to find products that give my skin the moisture and hydration it craves and this delivers both in a pretty little glass bottle. I'm not that surprised since it has plant-derived squalane, which has quickly become one of the miracle workering ingredients on my radar.

For my skin, I find it best to use after a moisturizer. And now I'm looking into Fresh's Rose and Hyaluronic Acid Deep Hydration Moisturizer to use with it. Those miracle working ingredients I mentioned? Hyaluronic acid is one of them and since this moisturizer is part of the same Deep Hydration line, I'm betting it pairs perfectly with this serum. Squalane + hyaluronic acid = yes, please! There's another serum in the rose line as well and it has a lesser price tag.

It needs to be shaken well to get the oil and water mixed! Once applied, my skin instantly feels softer and plumper. Don't let the oil part scare you. As long as it is mixed well, it does not feel oily on the skin. It sinks into my skin quickly and the scent goes away as soon as it does. Because I have sensitive skin, I always cross my fingers for no redness, itchiness, or reactions. I had none with this formula. The price hurts the wallet in one go, but you need very little for each application so the bottle will last several months. I've gotta say that this is one of the best serums I've tried.

Pretty in pink, isn't it?! Now again, you might be with me in placing this into the pricey category since it is priced at $32 CA. When you factor in how little you need, it is a purchase that can be stretched over many uses.

This lip balm gets its "deep hydration" from the addition of rose flower oil and its protection from good ol' trusty Vitamin E. If your lips are dry or chapped, this balm works well at getting them back to what they should be. I'm really bad at chewing on my lips, so they take a good beating. I like a heavy duty balm because I need a heavy duty balm. I'm my own worst enemy. This Petal-Soft one looks delicate, but it packs a little punch.

I will say that I get the same effect from other balms in my collection, with some cheaper than this one. There are different points to look at besides the hydration like how light this feels on the lips. I have many balms that give me the same hydration, but so many of them feel heavy on the lips. I personally don't like that feeling unless it is just before bed. This formula really is soft and the emollient oils work well at combating dryness. I find that it does differ slightly in their tubed lip balms and the hydration lasts a little longer.

The hydration still doesn't last as long as I'd like, but it's fine as a daily balm. Do I feel like this is an absolute must have? No. I think if you're picky about lip balms and are searching for something that feels light and not sticky, this could be a good fit for you. I like it and it fits the bill for what I look for, I just don't know that I would purchase it. One thing I don't care much for is that it is potted, I'm not a big fan of sticking my fingers in products. I also might be swayed more to purchase it if it were at a lower price point. Yes, it lasts a good while, but I just think it's overpriced for what it is. At the end of the day, it's a great lip balm, but it's not absolutely perfect for me.
