Old Navy Winter/Spring Haul 2020

First of all, I would be remiss if I didn't mention the change from my last post to this one. For starters, we have been social distancing all week, only going out for needed groceries. We are lucky that we can do what we do from my home. Not only can my husband work from home, but his workplace was insistent on it.

In my last post, I mentioned our hopeful trip to Michigan. Even before the borders announced the impending closure, we had already decided it would be wrong and selfish to go. As someone who thrives on traditions, it sucks. However, I also know that I would rather do my part and protect myself and my family. And I know we will still celebrate our anniversary (at home!) on the day, the vibe will just be different. The important thing is that my husband and I have each other, not where we are and what we are doing. We'll do a trip later to make up for it when the time is right.

What I also want to say is that I don't know how serious I will get on here. Believe me when I say that I take this virus very seriously and care deeply about what is going on in the world. This blog has always been an escape for me, as I started it back in 2007 while I was mourning the loss of my grandmother. I've been seeing people judging and policing what people do and do not post. Please don't do that. You don't know someone fully based on what they post. We all need a mental break and escape, a dose of normalcy in a time of uncertainty. This is mine. It's also my hobby, my job, and a little of everything else. I guess I just wanted to put that out there and clear the air.

So yeah, today's post is about my latest Old Navy haul. And that's okay.

It's now officially spring, but Ontario's weather can be strange and we see a little of everything in the beginning of the new season. This haul focuses a little on that transition and beyond as the weather warms up.
  • V-Neck Shelf-Bra Cami - I live for these. They are perfect for layering or lounging around the house. I get them whenever I can find them in stock.
  • Tall Faux-Suede Western Boots - I suppose I wanted these because they are different from all of my other boots. They are taller than what I normally go for, ending just below the knee.
  • Patterned Flannel Scarf - This is in the men's section. I never shy from that section because you can find some great gems. I love these colors!
  • Linen-Blend Shorts - With my discount code, I got these for around $4. Total steal of a deal.
  • Waist-Defined Elbow-Sleeve Dress - I love this so much more than I thought I might. It is so flattering and I would be lying if I said I hadn't already thought about adding another pattern to my cart for next time. And it's so light and can take you right into the hottest of summer days.
  • Shaker-Stitch V-Neck Cardigan - I wanted one of these the moment I saw them on Old Navy's Instagram account. I got the tall because I wanted a longer hem. If you have a longer torso, you might want to order tall online for that added length. I love the puffy sleeves! If these go on sale or clearance, I wouldn't be opposed to getting another color. It adds really cool texture and shape to any outfit.

I hope you are all staying safe and healthy. Please take these times seriously and do your part. Please don't be selfish and put lives in danger. I have loved ones that I don't want to see get sick and I'm sure you do as well. Stay inside as much as possible and practice social distancing. Your vacations can wait. The playgrounds and sleepovers can wait. Take your health and the health of those around you seriously and stay on top of your hygiene game. We've got this, but only if we do it together. Thinking of you and sending love!
