Neutrogena Rapid Wrinkle Repair Cleanser and Retinol Oil

I was pumped up to get the opportunity to test part of Neutrogena's Rapid Wrinkle Repair line of products. I did put a short form review up on my Instagram a while back, but that was more of a first impressions type because it was due within two weeks of testing. However, this product does promise results in as little in one week. Below are my original reviews with any edits that I have thought about after trying these two products for a longer duration.

I was sent the Prep Cleanser and Retinol Oil. The line also carries a night moisturizer, eye moisturizer, serum, and a few others. Here are my thoughts on these two!

I love that this has a pump. I can't say that I love the scent (I find it to be too sweet), but it's certainly not the worst I've come across. This does prepare your skin for the retinol oil in this regimen. This exfoliates and does not contain any of those dreaded plastic microbeads.

I have sensitive and dry skin. I did not find this too abrasive and can get away with using it once daily. Though it does say twice, I just don't feel comfortable doing that. I notice a little redness, but no worse than any other cleanser I use and it does not last long. My skin does feel softer and looks brighter afterward. I also feel that the lasting impact of the results is pretty respectable. The softness lasts all day and I feel like it really helps my makeup go on smoother. I would say this stands on its own as a decent cleanser and exfoliator, if you aren't interested in the rest of the Wrinkle Repair line.

I've tried products with retinol in them, but I believe this is my first foray into oil form.

I like the little glass bottle with the glass dropper. It feels more like a luxurious experience. I find it easy enough to push down on the top to get the 4-5 drops needed for application. It has the same sweet smell as the cleanser and I'm not a huge fan of it, but it's not long-lasting on the skin.

I prefer 2-3 applications a week and choose to do it nightly and sleep off any redness that comes along. I was doing it more frequently in the beginning, but I did not find it necessary as I continued use. They suggest 2 times daily, but I find that to be too much for my sensitive skin. I don't notice any tingling like the label mentions could happen, which is interesting since I do usually have reactive skin. I do typically notice flaking on my cheeks after use, but I have dry skin and it is the driest in that area.

I'm starting to add more anti-aging products into my routine and fight the fine lines that are starting to appear around my eyes and forehead and lessening the appearance of pores. This has been working really well at decreasing the dryness, minimizing my pores, and plumping my skin.

I'd say it delivered on the one week promise of results and my skin has held up since testing it past that time period. I use it less a week now and still have lasting results.

The Prep Cleanser retails at Shoppers Drug Mart for $13.99 CA and the Retinol Oil retails for $38.99 CA. Have you tried any of this line?
