Biotherm Blue Therapy Red Algae Uplift Cream

I received the Biotherm Blue Therapy Red Algae Uplift cream to test and review. Biotherm is still relatively new to me as a brand, but I have tried one of their shower gels in the past and really enjoyed it. I got it when it was on a great sale at Shoppers Drug Mart. You can also buy the products on Biotherm's website.

Having liked the body wash, I was looking forward to trying the Blue Therapy Red Algae Uplift cream. It is a luxury skincare line, so I had high expectations. I'm not against spending money on great skincare, but there are a few criteria it needs to reach for me to continue purchasing a specific product. Truthfully, I haven't decided yet on this one but that doesn't mean this is a negative review. Quite the opposite in many ways. Let's dive in!

I like the plastic protective lid and actually prefer keeping it on there. It's a thick cream and doesn't really get everywhere when you open it, but I like the lid protecting the product. I'm always a little "meh" on potted products, just not my personal preference. I'll also go ahead and say another negative for me is the rose scent. I've said before that it is not my favorite and it's a very rare occasion that I find one that I like. This isn't the worst, but it isn't really one I enjoy either. If you love rosy scents, this will absolutely appeal to you in that area. I find the scent lasts about five minutes on my skin before disappearing, so it is tolerable to wait it out.

Another negative you might think of is the price. At $89 CA, the Blue Therapy Red Algae Uplift cream is an investment. Any look at the numerous positive reviews can help form your decision if it is an investment you would be willing to make. My issue with the price is not on how well it works, but how many uses will I get out of it. If this lasts me a good while and the amount seems worthy for the time it lasted, I consider it something I might be willing to splurge on. I don't want to be making a near $90 purchase every two months. I consider that excessive. You may or may not, of course. No judgement here!

How pretty is that peachy color?! It's a nicely thick cream and I will say a little goes a long way, so I do have hopes for my point above with price per use. As someone with sensitive and dry skin, this formula was beneficial in both areas. I experience no redness or irritation and notice a nice dose of hydration. The biggest benefit has been the fine lines around my eyes. This seems to plump up the skin around them, smooth them out, and minimize them. I especially like using this cream in the mornings and prefer a different moisturizer at night.

Honestly, I noticed a difference after one use and I don't find the end results differ if I use it in the morning, night, or both. While rose is not my favorite scent, I can't deny that I do like it in my skincare. It seems to work really well at combating redness, which is why I'm often willing to just not breathe through my nose until it dissipates. The price of beauty is...altered breathing habits? I can live with that!

While this is designed to help with lifting and smoothing and many of you might think this is not applicable yet, I'm a firm believer in the fact that it is never too early to start with anti-aging skincare. This cream and others on the market tackle many things that come with age, but it's more than that. Keeping your skin hydrated and glowing changes the game!
