Nude by Nature Perfecting Primer

If you remember in my March favorites post, I mentioned a product that was a dud for me. Spoiler alert: this is it. Of course, this is my personal experience with the Nude by Nature Perfecting Primer. As a matter of fact, I think it would be pretty great for most people. Just not me! Keep reading to find out why.

I received this sample in the mail and packed it away in my beauty bag for our anniversary trip to continue my testing process. I even mentioned in that post that I was liking it so far. And I was...until I wasn't. This was the only new thing that I introduced into my routine at that time. After a few days, I started getting these little bumps on my face. Not a breakout, but little bumps under my skin. After stopping use of this primer, they vanished after a day or two.

I do have dry and sensitive skin, but this was different from my usual reactions to something. To be honest, I'm not sure what could be in this that caused the problem. Maybe it's a mixture of something that my body just didn't agree with. I included a picture of the ingredients below and if you're far more knowledgeable about ingredients, feel free to give me a heads up on what ingredient(s) could be causing the problem. It could very well be the Limonene, because I am sensitive to citrus and its oils. It's just never manifested in this specific kind of reaction, so that has thrown me off.

I mentioned that I was loving it until my skin rejected it and here is why (aside from the obvious fact that the rose gold packaging is totally gorgeous). The applicator is fabulous. It's super skinny and the product doesn't come pouring out. I'm not that big on the smell, but it does not last once applied. The formula is silicone free which is always a plus. The biggest thing I like about it is how dry skin friendly it is. My face felt so smooth and hydrated and my makeup went on over it like a dream. Curses to those bumps, because this could have been a winner for me!

Any Google search will show you a huge amount of positive reviews for the Perfecting Primer, I just happen to be a rare one in the bunch that it just did not work for. I think it is worth getting my experience out there, though. I'm really excited that this Australian brand has come to Canada and can be found at Shoppers Drug Mart. This won't stop me from looking into the brand for any possible future purchases.
