Chicago Shopping Pt. 2
Currently reading: Marie Claire
Currently watching: Family Guy
Currently drinking: Evian water
Currently feeling: a little weak..just getting over a stomach flu or something
Here is part two of my Chicago shopping! :) Stay tuned for part three (the final edition) later on! Here are my Marc by Marc Jacobs purchases! It was my first time in one of his stores, so I could barely contain my excitement. He's my favorite designer, and one of the sales associates was so kind to give me her card so I can call her and have her ship anything I want to my door. That could be dangerous! :)
1. Marc Jacobs flip-flops in Navy
I love flip-flops! They are the staple of my summer wardrobe. I spent almost 19 yrs. of my life hating these things, but then college came along and changed all of that. :) These are pretty comfortable, and I can't wait to get to wear them.
2. purple bandanna
I have no use for a bandanna, really. However, I simply could not resist! I'll just have to find a use for it!
3. key necklace
I love this! I actually took it off of the chain it came on and added it to my red padlock heart MJ timepiece. So now I have a lock and key. :P
4. purple rat keychain
Yep, I had to get it. I love the color purple and I figure rat is my Chinese Zodiac sign, so why not?!
5. Chicago tote
I looked for the Jacobs by Marc Jacobs tote, but unfortunately they were sold out. So I got this tote bag to fill the void a bit. It has Chicago on it and 1984. To me, I'll use it to remember my trip and 1984 is my birth year. Thanks, Marc! *kisses*
6. heart mirror
I got the silver heart mirror. I guess I felt the need to follow the crowd as everyone seems to have one of these now. I love hearts!
7. metallic purple keychain
I love that metallic purple soooooo much. I wish they had the wallet when I went, but no such luck.
As pictured above, I also got:
Daisy by Marc Jacobs perfume (purse-sized)
I did not want the ring or the solid perfume, and I liked the size of this pack. It smells so good! If you have not given this perfume a smell yet, please go straight to a store that has it and do so! :D
Totally Turnlock Tote
My husband bought me this for our wedding anniversary, which is why we made the trip to Chicago in the first place. :) I have such a wonderful husband. He knows my love for Marc, and told me to go in and pick out a bag. I was going to get a really pretty blue one, but I thought the black could match more. And this bag may look small, but it really holds a lot. I love the bottom zip compartment, as it really keeps my smaller items organized. My first Marc bag! *does a happy dance* :P
Again, stay tuned for more stuff later! :) Have a great weekend! ♥

Chicago Shopping Pt. 1
Currently watching: The Weekenders
Currently reading: UK Cosmo with Leona Lewis on the cover- LOVE her!
Currently drinking: Vanilla Chai soy milk
Currently feeling: a bit sluggish, but I'm going to suck that up and work out
So I'm a bit late in posting Chapter 1 of my Chicago purchases. I had a family emergency last week with my husband's grandmother. She had a small seizure and had to be rushed to the hospital. All is well with her right now! Thank goodness. She worries me! Anyway, on to a few of my purchases! :)
1. Spanx Reversible Tights at Macy's
One side is black and the other is brown. Perfection!
2. Large pill capsule at The Container Store
I got a smaller one at Christmas during a gift exchange on LJ! I love my fellow spoiledgirls! :)
3. Nail polish corrector pen at Sephora
I needed something like this, because I always get pesky little marks where the polish is not meant to go. I'm a nail polish klutz. Plus, I got a really pretty color of OPI nail polish while out and about. It's Russian Navy. It's pretty much ♥. I forgot to add it to the picture, so here it is now. :P
I had never used this before, and I have still yet to try it on my cheeks. They say it is pretty much foolproof, but I'm pretty sure I could probably defy that! :D
5. mmmg pens at Penelope's
I'm obsessed with polar bears and bears in general. Since I was born, my nickname has been Wendy the Pooh, Pooh, and Poohbear. That started the craze, I believe! So I picked up these adorable pens- Polar and Forest. The store is also adorable and named after the owner's pug Penelope. Her two pugs come to work with her and amuse the customers. Olive is the other pug, and she's a little ham!
6. Hummingbird cami at Torrid
I'd never been in a Torrid, but I look at the website sometimes. We have a Canadian equivalent called Voluptuous. When I was on the Torrid website before the trip, I saw this cami and just fell in love with it. It's even cuter in person! And I was lucky that they had one left in my size!
7-8. Cropped cardigans at Old Navy
I technically got these when we reached Canada again. I ran out of time to go to any of the Old Navys in Chicago, so I went to one in Cambridge, ON. I got the tan and white ones to wear with my summer dresses. I wanted a black one, but they did not have my size. I have lots of camis, tanks, and whatnot...and I just am not that comfortable with my arms, so I cover them up for the most part.
9. Little Miss Helpful gel pack at The Container Store
I seriously fell in love with The Container Store. I bought little eyedropper bottles, a lapdesk with polkadots all over it, the pill capsule, paper soap for those pesky public bathrooms that are out of soap, and a few others things. I have mild OCD, so this organization store had me at first sight. My husband had to pry me away and promise me a trip to Target. :) And I love this gel pack!

Back from Chicago!
Currently watching: The Simpsons
Currently drinking: Smart Water
Currently reading: Elle magazine
Currently feeling: a little stuffy- stupid allergies!
I had a bit of a mixed review when it comes to my trip to Chicago. The food and shopping were amazing. However, I found the streets to be absolutely confusing. The homeless people were very aggressive towards us. I had to keep my camera in my purse instead of using it like I wanted to, because the minute the homeless saw the camera it screamed "Tourists!" and they'd come towards us. :/ I found the drivers unbelievably rude and impatient...much worse than even Toronto. I wanted to beat up one guy who was beeping his horn at this car stopped at a RED light. I got even madder when I saw him flick them the finger when they had a small little girl looking out their back window. What a great gesture to teach a child! D: The taxi drivers were even worse!
I fell in love with The Cheesecake Factory and their chicken tacos. Now I wish there was one close to me! It was really cool eating in the bottom of the Hancock tower. Houlihan's was pretty good, as was Bubba Gump's Shrimp Co. I was the most excited about going to Pizzeria Uno for some authentic deep dish pizza. Yum-O!
The one touristy attraction that I wanted to see was turned off, by the time I got around to finding it. The Buckingham Fountain was something I really wanted to see, and we finally found it around 10pm on our last night...only to find that it was completely turned off, lights and all. I was very disappointed! So I went to find the giant Chicago Bean sculpture instead. That was awesome! Though I can't help thinking that it should actually be in Boston- Beantown! :)
Our first night we drove through to Gurnee, IL. There was an outlet mall there that I wanted to go to. It was there that I stayed at the coolest hotel that I have ever stayed at in my whole life. At the Grand Hotel, they had a whole hallway done in cartoon drawings with blacklights. Every room had a theme. We stayed in the Flintstones room, and our room looked like one of the stone houses and had drawings of Fred, Barney, and the gang all glowing under blacklights. So cool! In Chicago, we stayed downtown at the Hyatt and were right beside the start of Magnificent Mile. I shopped 'til I dropped the entire trip!
I went to: Sanrio, Marc by Marc Jacob's, Penelope's, The Container Store, Macy's, Bloomingdale's, Neiman Marcus, Saks, TJ Maxx, Target, and sooooo many more that have escaped my mind. In the next few days, I'll update with my purchases and product reviews! :) I had to stock up on Smart Water, Vitamin Water, and few kinds of diet soda that we don't get here as well!
We were supposed to get back Wednesday, but we fell behind schedule. We stopped near the Port of Indiana for Wednesday night. We hit the road again early Thursday and stopped at the Cracker Barrel. I missed it! We got into some nasty snowstorms in Michigan and Sarnia (ON). So we had to stop over again in Cambridge, ON. I had my first escapade in a Canadian Applebee's, and it just was not the same. I'll stick to my Applebee's back home! We made a quick stop at Old Navy for me, as I missed going to the one in Chicago and I needed my fix. Then, I ran into Future Shop (like Best Buy) to buy my hubby's anniversary gift. I got him a 4GB Creative Zen player, because he has been wanting a mp3 player for awhile. Unfortunately my old iPod mini died on him! For my gift, he bought me a Marc by Marc Jacobs purse which I'll talk about in a later post of purchases. :D
Also, I changed the layout again. I think I get bored a little too easily sometimes. Plus, I'm getting ready for some new episodes of Gossip Girl soon! ♥
