Recent Amazon Buys - Summer 2019

I got a little carried away on Amazon this summer. I got a few things off of my wishlist when Prime Day came around and I had a giftcard to use from my birthday. Perfect timing in that regard! I already shared what I picked up beauty-wise during Prime Day here. This is a collective haul from Prime Day and after.

There's a little bit of everything here - home decor, fashion, beauty, etc. I'll link to the actual listing I ordered from, since there are so many different versions of a lot of these as is usually the case. Who else can't stay off of Amazon?! Don't think I'm not drooling at some of the sweaters on there for fall, because there are some real winners!.

  • Light-Up Vanity Mirror - I had a single light-up mirror forever ago, but it started to go dim. I can't bring myself to get rid of it though, because my grandmother gave it to me. It sits on my bookcase. The mirror I replaced it with did not light up and I missed that feature quite a bit. These type of mirrors are getting rave reviews and I finally bit the bullet and got one. You can see it below. The fourth light up from the bottom right is a little dimmer than the rest, but it is hardly noticeable when you're using it. They also dim by holding down the touch button. USB (included) or batteries will power it up. The suction cups on the 10x mirror are strong and it does not slip. The little tray at the bottom is a cute addition. Liking it so far and I am hoping the lights really help getting ready in the fall and winter when light is not as abundant.
  • Initial Necklace - This is an affordable option similar to a past Celine design. There are a few other ones like this listed on Amazon and some that offer a smaller size and different metal finishes, but I like this for a statement piece and I don't have a lot of gold in my collection. I plan on putting it on my real gold chain when I'm wearing it, but the chain it came on is pretty decent if you don't have reactions to costume jewelry. I also appreciate the velvet pouch they sent it in.
  • Long Bobby Pins - I wear a top bun on more days than not, so these come in handy. I also love them for keeping berets in place during the winter. The only reason these have bad reviews is that people thought they were going to get more in their order? Maybe they changed the listing, because I knew exactly what I was getting. It's a great little add-on item!
  • Maybelline SuperStay Matte Ink in Pioneer - I can never find this in stores and it sold out when I placed my Prime Day order, but it came back in stock and I quickly added it to my cart. I'll review this in a separate post. I can't be stopped with these Matte Inks. This one is my favorite kind of red.

Off, on, 10x suction cup mirror, and light that is dimmer than the others.

  • Uni-Ball Signo RT - As far as I know, this specific version of the Signo pen is only in Japan. I've only been able to find it here in a local Japanese store and I fell in love with it, but they don't always have them in stock. This time I went with a micro tip and it has not let me down. Perfect pen for writing in planners and journals!
  • TIJN Blue-Light Blocking Glasses - As someone who is on the computer and my phone a lot and suffers from chronic migraines and headaches, I'll try anything. I still get headaches, but I am noticing a difference when I wear these. They don't seem to be as frequent. I'd like to think it's not all in my head. They are really cute too! These don't have horribly yellow lenses like some others and don't distort colors too much. I don't wear them when editing, though. I also have my blue light feature scheduled on my phone to come on nightly when I'm wanting to start winding down.
  • Round Pink Rug - This rug is so soft and cushiony! It's a fun pop of color for my vanity area in my office. Indy loves it, so it gets the dog's seal of approval. I'm thinking of getting a smaller size for my closet! You can also see the mirror in the pic below with the rug. I have one side of the mirror folded in to save space. If the suction mirror is on, the other side will not close.
  • Tombow Marker in Cool Gray - I had heard such good things and never tried one and this was offered as an add-on item, so I figured why not. No bleeding through on any paper that I've tried! I get the fuss. I prefer the brush tip to the marker tip end.
  • Metal Straw - I love the initiative behind paper straws...I just personally hate them. So I got a metal straw to throw in my purse to use when out to cut down on the plastic use but to also not get stuck with a paper one. I got my husband a green one, but from a different seller and this one was better (I had to work and loosen his a bit to get it to work and it lacked the strap). These have a silicone tube inside and it works amazingly well. They fold in and out of the magnetic case easily and there is a little cleaner included. If you use it in a restaurant, just don't forget to grab it back!
  • Symmons Robe Hook in Nickel - I got the chain mirror in the last photo from Target when I went home in May and I've been looking for the perfect hook for it. I don't know if this is the perfect hook, but it's the one that came the closest to what I envisioned. I'm thinking of spraypainting it black to match the other black accents in our entryway. To the right of it and out of view in the picture is a black key holder. However, our light fixture in that area is nickel so it does match that. Thoughts?

Amazon prices go up and down and most of them have gone up on these items since I purchased them. I'm sure that will change again. I like to add things to my cart and wait for that "price has decreased" message to pop up or when an item has a coupon for a discount. And of course, you can make a little money back on certain items by using Rakuten (formerly Ebates). Here's my link, if you'd like to use it to sign up. No pressure and I only make money on it if you join and spend $25.

I was going to try to get one more post up this week, but it just isn't happening so I'll be back next week with my monthly favorites and whatnot. It's a holiday weekend here and my brain has already started to check out! I hope you all have a lovely rest of the week! :)
