6 Friday Faves

I did this in February and enjoyed it. I missed March, but I wanted to bring this feature back this month just to showcase a few favorites that aren't included in my beauty and skincare favorites at the end of the month. And also, if you want to take the opportunity, you can throw some recommendations my way! What song are you enjoying? What book did you just read and love? Maybe it is something not yet on my radar and I'm missing out!

Fresh Flowers
I don't usually care too much about having plants or flowers during the rest of the year, because I just don't have the green thumb to keep them alive. But there's something about looking out our windows and seeing the trees coming back to life that makes me want that in our home. My husband got me these roses when I was having a bad day. Bless him.

The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel
I haven't binged a show in such fast fashion in a really long time and I am OBSESSED. It's not the cleanest show, so some of you might not like it. It's just so smartly written with brilliant acting. Plus, I really love Zachary Levi (please watch Chuck too!) and was so excited that he was in the second season. I can't wait for when the third one starts!

Beyond Meat
This is the one from A&W, but my sister-in-law alerted me to the fact that we can now purchase it in patty form at Farm Boy locations in Ontario. I've been doing Meatless Monday for years and will often opt for veggie options regardless of the day, so I've tried many a meatless burger. And I'm usually let down, but this is the most satisfying I have ever tried. Now that I can get them at one of my local supermarkets, I'll be splurging here and there! It's $7.99 for two patties and worth every cent.

The Hating Game
A book by Sally Thorne. I liked it so much, I put my name on the waiting list for her other book 99 Percent Mine right after finishing it. This reads so much like a romantic comedy that it is actually in the works to be filmed and I look forward to seeing who gets cast as the leads. It's a fun and light read! And if romantic comedy isn't your thing, I also recommend Watching You by Lisa Jewell. It's a more suspenseful read and a real "whodunnit" type of story. Let's follow each other on GoodReads!

Kitchen Goods
HomeSense put out a new collection full of pastels, Michaels has an adorable spring collection, and Home Outfitters is going out of business. Combine those three things and I can't be stopped right now. Aside from above, I also got a bright blue cookie sheet and a pastel blue whisk. It's been a long time since I've upgraded some of my kitchen items. I'm still on the lookout for a bigger casserole dish and an oil and vinegar set. I thought I liked my current one until we found out it leaks every single time. Do you know how annoying it is to mop up olive oil every day? Ugh.

Music
I've been listening to a lot of 90s music as of late and just retro music in general. I still have a solid rotation of current music going, but Spice Girls, Jewel, No Doubt, etc.? That's what I've been jamming to the most lately. I'm on Spotify as "wendybanner", if you want to find me on there. You'll see how crazy and unpredictable my taste in music is!

Also, just wanted to drop a quick little message to each of you celebrating Easter this weekend and those who have started Passover. I hope you have a lovely holiday! I'm hosting the Easter family dinner on Saturday, so I foresee quite a lot of cleaning and cooking in my near future (which I'm probably doing right now as this scheduled post goes up!). Happy Easter weekend!
