OOTD: Happy Independence Day!

I know a lot of people refer to it as the "4th of July", but I can't find myself often saying that. I feel like it downsizes the importance of the day somehow. It's just semantics, of course, and to each their own. I love being able to say that we are independent, though! I love everything the word and holiday stands for. It's something that is fought hard for and should be honored and remembered!

While I'm in Canada, I still celebrate these types of holidays in my own way. It definitely feels different, but if anything, it makes me much more appreciative of everything. And I get to celebrate a few extra holidays while being up here (like Canada Day and an extra Thanksgiving), which is pretty neat! I've got the best of both worlds, honestly. I like to refer to myself as a "Camerican". :)

And of course, I'm sporting my red, white, and blue today! Gotta show my pride...I mean, it's not like my southern accent gives it away that I'm from the States every time I open my mouth or anything...Haha!

Dress and cardigan are both Old Navy. Necklace was bought at a craft show, so unfortunately I don't know who makes it. You never know what gems you might find at local shows like that, though!
