ColourPop Ultra Glossy Lip in Bestie, Casino, and Master Plan

My friend Mel sent me these in a gift package and I am finally getting around to sharing them on here.I have Bestie, Casino, and Master Plan. Of the three, Bestie and Master Plan are currently available. I can't find Casino, so maybe it was discontinued. I'll be sharing all three, because ColourPop has been known to bring back shades.

This is my first foray into the Ultra Glossy lip formula, having tried the Ultra Satin and Ultra Matte previously. You can find all of my ColourPop swatches under the "colourpop cosmetics" label on this post.

On first look, I thought the red and purple shades would be intimidating but I've learned from my past ColourPop lip experiences to expect the unexpected. Very rarely is the shade in the bottle the shade that you get once applied. Master Plan and Bestie actually are similar bottle to lip, but Casino is actually a sheer red and easy to wear if you're a newbie to red lips. The formula is smooth and easy to apply with the doe foot applicator. It feels a little heavy on my lips, but not sticky.

Bestie
This is a creme mid-tone pink, according to ColourPop's description. I agree with that and in classic Wendy form, of course it is my favorite of the three. Of course it is. Good luck ever prying me away from pink lip products. If you have pale skin like me, this is a great pink gloss to reach for. I'm sure it will layer nicely with other lip products, but you don't need to.

Casino
Considered a sheer pinky red, I can see that. For me, I don't like the finish it has on its own. I recommend this be a finishing layer on another lip product. Like I said above, the color is great for red lip newbies. It certainly isn't as bright as the tube suggests.

Master Plan
Described as a dusty plum in a creme finish, I wasn't sure what to expect with this one. I don't think it is a dusty plum at all, though. Dusty makes me think it would be lighter than it is. I have a few purple-toned lipsticks in my collection and I do love them, but I don't reach for them often. But this one seems a little more wearable than those. My swatch heavily differs from the one provided by ColourPop, as they most often do. I have no idea what they do with their swatch pictures, but I can never go by them.

Overall, I'm impressed with the glossy lips. I might add one or two whenever I place my next ColourPop order. If you're someone who likes glossy lips and glosses that are more opaque, these might be a perfect fit for you. And at $6 US, they are a good deal. Let me know if you've tried these and what shades you have or what shades I should look into!
