Home Decor Inspiration for the Kitchen

I've already started the groundwork for which direction I want my kitchen to go. I have painted the cabinets white, added stainless steel hardware and appliances, and added open shelving. I still need to pick a backsplash, faucet, lighting, range hood, and paint the existing countertop (it is ugly!). I'm not ready to share the before and after pictures until that counter is at least painted. Y'all, it is bright yellow faux marble. It's like the 70's came and stayed!

Anyway, I am often on Tumblr, Houzz, and Pinterest scouring ideas. For the most part, the ideas I save have the same esthetic. I just have to find the right fits for my own personal taste! I thought I would share a few of the pictures I have saved for inspiration in what I consider the most important room in my house.

Oh yeah! Those pendant and firefly lights, love them. I'm personally coveting the rose gold lights. Love the new blog design, btw.

I love looking at kitchen pics on Pinterest. Not like I can do much in my rental apartment, but wishful thinking. :)

So much you can and can't do with a rental! I'm sure you've come up with some cool ideas! My personal favorite (and something I've just done until I can afford a proper backsplash with tiles) is to use shelf-liner or removable wallpaper on the backsplash. Instant and affordable facelift!

Thank you, Audrey! Out of everything I want with my kitchen, I never imagined that it would be the lights being the hardest decision! I think I figure out what I want and then find something else to completely lust over. :)
