The freebie this year is a lip balm duo from Fresh. Honestly, I feel like they get better each year with their birthday gifts. This is tied right up their with the Philosophy bath gel gift from last year! Below shows the swatches and a size comparison to a full-sized Fresh Sugar lip balm.

^ They aren't that much smaller than the full-size. They're a great size for traveling in your purse and the screw on cap makes it very travel-friendly. My original review of Fresh's Sugar Plum is here. And while I still prefer other lip balms to these, I don't downright hate them. And as a free offer this year, it's worth it to pick them up and try them.
^ And here's comparing all of the colors. The Sugar one is just clear, but I don't really notice a shine on my lips. Sugar Rose is very pretty, but doesn't show really seem to show up on my lips. Sugar Plum still remains splotchy on me, sadly. I'll probably use these just to layer under lipsticks for added moisture and the SPF.
I never say no to lip balms and certainly not to free products! I like that these have SPF and are great to throw in your bag. The smell is scrumptious too! :)

I agree, Sephora is stepping up it's game every year with the birthday gifts! Sugar Rose is such a lovely color :D Sad to hear these aren't amazing for you. My birthday isn't until December so I won't be picking these up for awhile XD
