Sephora 500 Pt. Perk- Tarte Intro to Amazonian Clay

This weekend I dropped in to spend some of my points at Sephora. Normally I hoard them until something good comes along. By that, I mean that I wait until a set usually has a full-size product or two. I jumped at the chance to grab this kit, because it had not only has two full products but also deluxe samples of others. It doesn't hurt that one of the items is a LipSurgence Lip Tint since I love them!

To see more pictures and swatches, please keep reading.

^ Even though I only used my points and didn't buy anything, the guy was really sweet and gave me a handful of samples. I hardly ever even get samples there when I do buy something. Maybe that's the secret! ;)

^ The kit includes: a full-sized EmphasEYES eye pencil in black, full-sized LipSurgence matte lip tint in Lively, sample of ReCreate primer, sample of Amazonian Clay bronzer in Park Avenue Princess, and a sample of Amazonian Clay Finishing Powder.

^ Everything was wrapped in the box with purple tissue paper.

^ The finishing powder is about the size of a MUFE eyeshadow.

^ The bronzer is a gorgeous gold. I'm really surprised at the large size of this sample. The right side shows it compared to a MAC blush. I can see this bronzer suiting a lot of skintones.

^ The EmphasEYES pencil is so small! I am pretty sure that I have travel-sized eye pencils bigger than this. I compared it to a 24/7 eyeliner and you can see just how short and skinny this is. I found it a bit hard to swatch, as well. I'm glad I got this for free, because I don't think I would have paid full price.

^ LipSurgence Natural Matte Lip Tint in Lively.

^ It bothers me that I spelled the name of the EmphasEYES pencil wrong, but then again...I hate the name of it anyway with the all caps. If I have time later, I'll try to remember to re-edit the picture. The left shows one swipe of the eye pencil and then a few swipes. It really took a lot to build it up and it kept flaking off. It kind of scares me away from trying it on my eyes. If you have this pencil, tell me what you think!

^ Lively is gorgeous! Oh my, this is going to be so fun to wear this spring. :) This hot pink has a little bit of blue shimmer/undertones in it. Not enough to make the matte claim false, but enough for the light to hit it just right. And a blue undertone is always good since it makes your teeth look whiter! Because this is matte, it can be drying. I always wear a lip balm underneath. This color feathers a bit, but I'm very impressed with how opaque it is.

Did you spend your points on this set? I think it is one of the better 500 point perks that they have had recently. If I had to recommend one product from this kit, it would have to be Lively. Park Avenue Princess would be a close second. Happy to add both of these to my collection!

Tarte is my favorite brand, but it is true that this eye pencil sucks. It's small, pricey, and it doesn't do much with one coat.... I wish they had continued the formula they used in their "TrueBlood" collection.
Their lipstains are amazing! I have that bronzer too, lovely color.
