Yes, this came out as a limited holiday value pack. However, all of these colors are available aside from Whiskey which I've only seen in this set and the Naked Palette so far. Some of these swatches are repeated from my last UD 24/7 swatch post located here. I'll have even more 24/7 liner swatches available next week, because I ordered the 15 Year Anniversary Collection. :) Apparently, I've been on an eyeliner kick.
This set came with nine small pencils and one full-sized Zero pencil. I actually have a few smaller Zero pencils and one more full-sized one coming with the 15 Year set. Sooooo...I put this one in my "future giveaways" drawer. ;) And no, I didn't use it for the swatch below. I used one of my own. Just in case you were wondering!

1. Mildew- a dark green
2. Binge- navy blue
3. Electric- bright teal
4. Gunmetal- shimmery silver
5. Stash- a golden olive
6. Ransom- bright purple
7. El Dorado- gold
8. Whiskey- brown
9. Rockstar- dark purple
10. Zero- flat black

L'Oreal Studio Secrets Magic Perfecting Base
To give any indication how this review is going to go, I've been looking forward to reviewing it! I have been using it for more than a month now, so I feel it is finally time to give my two cents.
The jar is extremely small and holds .5 oz. of product. Even being a product sold in a drugstore, this sells for around $10 (US). However, if you compare it to the Smashbox primer price and size ($32 US for 1 oz.), you're saving a bit of money. NOTE: I'm not saying this is better than Smashbox per se, only in value.
You do not need to use a large amount of this. Though, I do still feel that it will empty out relatively quick. It is a mousse-like consistency and does make my skin feel instantly smoother. I have very dry skin and this takes care of those little flakes that powders can exacerbate. To be fair, I cannot tell you if it truly makes my makeup last longer because I use a setting spray.
I also don't use this on my nose, where I have oily skin. I feel like this does not mattify oily spots like they claim. Therefore, if you have super oily skin, I probably would not recommend this be the base that you use. If you have dry skin or dry patches, I find that it works very well at creating a nice base. For me, this is worth it just because of how it makes my skin feel and how much easier it is to apply face and cheek products on top of it. It is also very light on the skin, which I like.
Are there better primers out there? Yes. For this price? Not that I have come across...yet. If you are on a budget and cannot afford the higher-end brands or cannot justify buying them, this is a primer I would recommend. As a matter of fact, I will probably be repurchasing this when mine runs out. :)

Model Mirror Review
This was one of my Christmas presents. If you watch makeup/beauty videos on YouTube, you might have heard of these. A few "gurus" have them now. I actually saw it first a few months ago in a JuicyTuesday video (love her!). I thought to myself about how handy this little mirror could be! I always carry a mirror with me, because when you don't have one is the time that you really need one. :) You can find Model Mirrors on Les Tai Tai. And they have a nice selection of patterns to choose from!
It was a hard choice for me to actually choose which pattern I wanted. It came down to the bow and the polkdadots. As always, bows win my heart. The outer covering is a nice smooth rubber, so it is easy to grip and feels nice to the touch. They come with their own drawstring bag to protect them when they are moving around in your purse.
The top half (which is the left side in this picture) has eight little lights that you can turn on and off so when you're in those dark places you can see if you need a touch-up. The mirrors offers 2x magnification.
This is the button you press to toggle the lights on and off. The lights last up to ten hours! That is a lot of nightly touch-ups before the battery even thinks of shutting down. When that happens, they offer a battery pack replacement.
The eight LED lights really make a difference and make this mirror stand out. They are brighter in person than how they appear in pictures. It has really come in handy. The price is a little steep, but it is worth it. If you take late night road trips, go out with friends late at night, take a late flight, etc. etc., this is perfect for whipping out in those low-light times.
The mirror is selling for $34/US and the replacement battery pack is $7. They ship worldwide and the UK version of the site has even more patterns to choose from! This is a great little invention, so I hope you add it to your wishlist. :)

Femme Metale (Benefit)
Benefit's Femme Metale is one of the gifts that I got for Christmas. I realize that it is a limited edition item, but sometimes Sephora may still have a few left that they have kept out. I know that the last time I went to my local one that they still had one or two out. Also, there's always eBay and online cosmetic stores where you can often find LE items. With that said, maybe this will be of use to you. And if not, if you're like me, you at least got to enjoy looking at pictures of pretty makeup. :)

This set came with three creaseless cream eyeshadows and three eyeliners.
Taupe-Aztic is a new favorite of mine lately. It looks so pretty with Urban Decay's Sin on the lid and Toasted (also UD) in the crease. It creates a very pretty bronze look.

These are very creamy and very similar to Urban Decay's 24/7 pencils. As a matter of fact, Gem-n-Eye reminds me of Stash.
Hope you have a great weekend!

Old Navy Haul
I'm thinking ahead to my spring wardrobe. Maybe I'm just weird, but I look at my closet and think in seasons. I don't feel like I have much "spring type" clothing. I bought a few basic pieces from Old Navy that makes me think of spring and all for under $100! Not bad, considering you can mix and match these in a lot of different ways. :)
Navy striped tee (going with a nautical theme for this one), navy tank, pink floral blouse, coral tank (always a great color for warmer weather), black tank, beige sequin tee, and a beige layering tank.
And just for fun, here's my latest spring themed Polyvore. :)

Top 12 Best and Worst of Golden Globes 2011
These awards were held on Sunday and I'm fashionably late getting my list out. There were some beautiful dresses this time and it was actually somewhat hard to pick out bad ones. The stars really stepped up their game!

Olivia Wilde- This dress is one of the most stunning dresses I have ever laid my eyes on. She's already beautiful, but this just blows me away. I actually kind of like that she wore her hair down, because the attention shouldn't be on that.
Jenna Ushkowitz- I love the romantic feel. The color is beautiful and is so flattering on her.
Scarlett Johansson- I love that she went more understated than usual. I feel like this has a really nice "old Hollywood" feel to it.
Amber Riley- This dress is very flattering for her figure and shows that all of us girls can shimmer at any size. The hair looks good too!
Sarah Hyland- This is very glamorous and age-appropriate at the same time. I love how the bottom flutters down.
Lea Michelle- Lovely! The pop of peach works wonderfully against her skintone.

Helena Bonham Carter- I could start with the obvious mismatched shoes issue, but I'm too busy trying to figure out the dress and the horrible sunglasses.
January Jones- I wish she'd stop trying to be fashion-forward and edgy and just be the classic beauty that she is capable of being. This dress is horrible with the cut and the fringe.
Julianne Moore- I don't mind pink on redheads, but this just doesn't look right. Take away the sleeve and it would look better, I think.
Gabourey Sidibe- The fit flatters her figure, but I hate the print. I just don't think it suits the red carpet for an awards show.
Emma Stone- I think I don't like this mainly because it's just plain. There is no "wow factor". And I think it just comes across as harsh.
Natalie Portman- It pains me to put her on the worst list, because she rarely gets it wrong. I like the color. I like the dress. It's the rose...I just don't understand it. I think it would have looked better with a diamond or gem brooch at the gathering.
Who is on your best and worst list? Did you make one (link it!)? :)

My Personal Style
I've been working for quite some time on my personal style. Sure, I love to change it up every now and then but these are the basics that I always run back to. I've found that my style tends to be "casual chic", as I tend to prefer comfort over strictly fashion. You don't have to stick to one style, because that's the fun of fashion. I do recommend that everyone have at least one thing/trait that people associate you with. With me, I let my accessories do the talking. I love to accessorize with bold pieces and keep everything else simple!
Here are the basic pieces to my style!
*big sunglasses
*basic tees
*statement necklaces
*cardigans
*scarves
*flats
*big bracelets or bangles
*colorful jackets
*tote bags
*dark jeans/leggings
Let me know in the comments what some of your basics are.

MAC Wonder Woman Preview Party
Like last year's Spring Colour Forecast Collection, I've been invited once again to a preview party. This time it is for MAC's Wonder Woman Collection. While I don't have much interest in the packaging, I'm hoping the products will be really nice in person. I'm interested in seeing how they made the products bigger for this super-sized collection.
Anyway, I got a new printer/scanner last night and what better way to break it in than by showing you what the invite looks like?! Did you get an invite to the preview in your area? Now for the hard part of deciding either trying to find someone to go with me or going it alone like last time. It's madness at these events, which is why I contemplate going with someone or not! You are lucky if you take just two steps at a time in the crowd. I might have to look into some paper bags, anxiety medication, and sedatives. Ok...I'm exaggerating, but only a little. ;) Here's what the invite looks like!

*details blurred out
I think it is really cute. I actually wish that the product packaging had been more along these lines. You can see the promo pictures of the collection here (link will take you to the Temptalia website).

MAC Peacocky, Cham Pale, and Stylishly Yours
I picked up a few select things from the recent collections launched. I swear MAC is trying to give me whiplash with all of these collections they are throwing at me. There is about eight collections out right now and it is a bit ridiculous. I kind of hope they start slowing down the limited edition products and start showing more love to the permanent items!
Group shot!
MAC 209 brush. I haven't really used it yet. It feels very similar to the brushes provided in the Maybelline gel liners. I think it is going to be really good at lining the upper lashes and doing winged liner. I can't give a proper review on it right now, obviously.

Calm Mode TLC (tinted lip conditioner). You can smell the lavender on top of the typical vanilla scent. It is not overpowering, but if you don't like lavender you might not like this. Calm Mode is a gorgeous light pink color.

I love the Mega Metal shadows. I chose the one I thought I would use most, but I'm so tempted to get another shade or two. The formula is really nice and smooth and reminds me of the Starflash formula, which is my favorite. Prance is a mauve-toned silver shade, I'd say. It looks gorgeous on the lid. These shadows are a bit more in price than MAC's regular eyeshadows, but the pans are also bigger.
This is very lavender scented. I got this to spray my face at night. Lavender smells really calm me down and at night, I need it. I spray my pillows with a lavender aromatherapy spray, so I thought this might work along with that. I'm keeping it by my bed for those sleepless nights I encounter.

This probably isn't the palette for you if you already have the two permanent shades (Brule and Retrospeck) or the repromote (Et tu Bouquet). I did not own any of the four, so this was a worthy buy for me. Brule has been on my list for some time now and I missed out on Et tu Bouquet when it was out. Caviar Dreams is the only new color in the quad and it's a shimmery medium brown. These are all a bit sheer, but are buildable and foil nicely.
I'm happy with all of my buys. The product that stands out the most for me are the Mega Metal eyeshadows. If you are going to get anything from MAC's latest collections, I recommend looking at them. Have you bought anything from these recent collection launches?

Christmas Gifts 2010 - Miscellaneous
This is what happens when I go so long before I blog about gifts or hauls. I put things up and then I forget to take pictures of them. I'm that good. Anyway, I think this pretty much covers my Christmas gifts. I want to know what you got, so tell me in the comments or link me to your blog post!
The card is hilarious. The front says "One of my favorite things about this time of year are the cute little elves." The inside says "They taste like chicken." Hilarious! I actually knew about this gift, but I was so excited. My husband was going to buy me season tickets for lacrosse, but I'd be going alone because he couldn't really afford to pay for both of us to have them. So I chose four games (season tickets would be eight games) instead, so that we could both go together. :) We already went to the home opener and the seats are fabulous. LOVE this gift.
This is one of those things I heard about on YouTube. Model Mirrors come in different designs. The minute I saw the bow, I knew it was the one for me. I have wanted it for quite some time so I figured Christmas was a good time to ask for it. There is a little button to push and little lights on the mirror come on. I'll review it later.
Three of my little stocking stuffers. I love the Peanuts Moleskine. I love Charlie Brown and Snoopy...put that together with Moleskine and I melt. I'm a bit afraid to use it just because I don't want to taint it. I should pick out ugly notebooks so that I'll actually use them! The other two are just little books about Gaga and Taylor Swift.
My stack of books! If there is a specific one here that you want a review on, just let me know.
Gift cards! I love getting gift certificates. I've already used the Chapters one to buy two Rae Morris books. And the Old Navy one barely lasted a day in my hands! The other two are for Starbucks and Tim Hortons. Mmmmm...coffeeeee....my life support. :)
Not pictured:
*a bunch of DVDs (movies and TV seasons) because I'm obsessed
*Wii games and accessories
*cold hard cash- always a favorite! :)
* other giftcards to the cinema, The Bay (like SAKS basically), and Old Navy
* polar bear themed goodies- oven mitt, pot holder, blanket, 2 PJ bottoms, bookend, crystal sculpture
* Glee themed goodies- Wii game, CD game, CD
* stuff for my kitchen- K-Cups, recipes, hot chocolate, favorite candies, etc.
My husband said I had a very Glee and polar bear themed Christmas. I'm inclined to agree and I can't think of a better themed Christmas for me to have. :D
