When I get to 200 followers (less than 50 away), I'll have my next giveaway! I have already started to collect a few prizes for it. :)
Also, it's getting close to that time of the year. Christmas cards! If you would like to exchange cards with me, I would be absolutely thrilled. Shoot me an email at wendy@fashionableheart.com, if you are interested! :)
One other thing is that I am going on hiatus until around December 7th. I leave for the holiday tomorrow, because I'm going home for Thanksgiving. After that, it is time for a vacation (Yay!) in Orlando, Florida. And when I get back, I have a MRI scheduled on December 6th. So I will try my hardest to have some posts ready for the rest of that week when I get back. Expect a haul, because I am going to take full advantage of the outlets. ;)
So if you don't see posts from me for awhile, don't leave me. I'm coming back...Promise! See you guys in about two weeks. Take care! ♥

Sephora Friends and Family Haul
Ok, so Sephora finally decided to give us in Canada a F&F sale. Sadly, if you aren't a VIB (Very Important Beauty Insider), then you got pretty jipped with only one night to go to the store and buy. As a VIB, you got the full weekend. It is times like these that the Canadian Sephora locations need their own website to cater better to us since you couldn't use the code online. Luckily I'm near at least three different locations, but I know some are not so lucky. Without further ado, here are a few of the things I got. I say "few" because the other items went under the Christmas tree. :)

I used 100 of my points to get the Clean Start packet. There's four items included: Bedtime for Breakouts, Wash Off, Welcome Matte, and All Over Clear. I had a packet of little samples of some of these before, but I took advantage of this. Generally the 100 point gifts would only be like one of those tubes to choose from, so I was pretty happy that you get them all in a nice little packet.
Benefit High Beam To Go. Do I probably have enough to last me a lifetime? Yes, but the wand of this one intrigued me! And I picked up the MUFE HD Foundation after hearing so many positive reviews. I'll be reviewing it soon enough. I can't yet, because I haven't actually worn it. I'll be trying it while on vacation next week, though!

115 is comparable in shade to MAC's NW15-20.
My Benefit High Beam review is here. And again, I will review the MUFE foundation soon! Of course, you can leave how you feel about these products in the comments section. :)

Old Navy Give and Get Haul
Old Navy had their Give and Get sale this weekend, so I grabbed some more goodies off of the American website to have shipped home. I have to take advantage of this, because they have some items that we can't get here. It's too bad they won't ship from the US site to Canada. Booooo! The best part is that a percentage of the proceeds goes to charity. I think it is great that Old Navy/Gap/Banana Republic do these sales and give back!
Anyway, I took the opportunity to grab up a few basics that my wardrobe was lacking. A lot of it is black, but I love to wear black during the cooler months and dress it up with colorful accessories and jackets.
I picked out the black sequined dress to wear to my Christmas get-together that I'm having. I could live in sweater dresses, I swear. And I have no idea how I missed the fact that I had no plain black skirt in my wardrobe.
Every girl needs a white button down shirt in their wardrobe. This one has smocked detailing on the sides to define the waist. This boyfriend sweater looked adorable. Don't be afraid of stripes. If they are narrower and not wide ones, they actually have a slimming effect. I do not own a single blazer, so I am looking forward to this. And I live in Canada...boots are a way of life from pretty much October to April! :)
I also bought a few items at my local Old Navy. I picked up an adorable purple ruffled dress to wear for Thanksgiving, which I couldn't find listed on the website. I might feature it in an OOTD later. I also grabbed this plaid flannel shirt below. Word of advice on this shirt would be that it is made smaller than their usual shirts. A person with a bigger chest might need to order or buy a size up!
I know a lot of my clothing hauls are from Old Navy, but I can't say it enough that they are a great place to shop for basics. The price is affordable and I find it to be better quality than a lot of the trendier places (cough...F21...cough). ;) And the more money I save on clothes, the more I can use elsewhere (cough...Sephora and MAC...cough)! Did any of you take advantage of the 30% off this weekend?

Fall Essentials Pt. 2
I did this last year and some things may be repeated, but that just means that once again I'm depending on them to get me through fall. :) It's my absolute favorite season. ♥
Candles, anything pumpkin, boots, lip balm, printed scarves, cardigans, cute jackets, and plaid can make just about all of my fall days a little better! Of course a flavored hot coffee never hurts matters either! What are some of your fall essentials? Do tell!

CMA Arrivals: My Hits & Misses
The CMAs were the other night. Aside from a few performances, I was more interested in the "red" carpet arrivals. So here are my hits and misses of the Country Music Association awards show! I'm keeping it at four each, as not to do a photo overload. :)
Carrie's dress was gorgeous. My only problem is that I wish she had smiled, because it would have made her look even better. And Taylor was a knockout in a red number with a high slit. It's nice to see her outside of the sparkly gowns sometimes!
Gwyneth Paltrow- hubba hubba! This dress looks smashing on her and I love the ombre effect. And she sang her song with Vince well. People did not realize she could sing, which makes me think I'm the only one who watched her and Huey Lewis in Duets! Laura Bell Bundy hit the right notes in a belted dress that fit just right.
Oh Kellie, you paid for that chest...the least you could do is make 'em look good. This dress was not a good cut for her, offered no support, and added pounds to her frame. Katherine's dress looks too tight in the chest area and her hair was not a good choice. Love the color of the dress, though!
LeAnn, did you forget your pants or that you were coming to an awards show? That looks like a tank top that I could get at Forever 21. I was sitting there wondering what on earth Leighton was doing at a country music affair when she mentioned her new movie where she plays a country singer. Makes sense and answered my question about why Gwyneth was there also! I actually like her dress, it's the makeup I don't like. She looks really tired.
Hope you all have a fabulous weekend! :)

Philosophy Discount Code
Tess (thank you!) linked me to a site that offered a 25% discount code on Philosophy. The site said both 20% and 25%, but the 20% is a typo. It is indeed for 25% off and the code is APPRECIATION. I just ordered some goodies that would have been over $70 for under $55. Only one is not pictured and that's because it's a little something for my mom to try out.
I hope I'm telling you about this early enough so that you can get your order in. The deal ends today! Their makeup and skincare lines have some winners and losers, so make sure to read reviews first on the product you're interested in. My absolute favorite product (which is completely obvious when you see what I bought) is the shampoo, bath, and shower gels. I have not smelled one that I have not liked and they are fantastic. The body lotions are really good, as well. My favorite all-time scents are the Vanilla Birthday Cake, Apricots and Cream, and Melon Daiquiri.
~Have a Cherry Christmas, Peppermint Bark, and Pumpkin Spice Muffin bath gels
~Caramel Apple and Pumpkin Spice Muffin lipglosses
They have Christmas scents out right now, so maybe this is a good time to stock up on Christmas gifts for others (and yourself!). :)

OCC Lip Tars in Hush and Memento
I think these might just be my favorite product that I bought from IMATS this year. So here is my review and swatches!
I was unable to get any shades that I wanted last year, because they sold out quickly. This year I got lucky, but that's also because I rushed to get there early and scoop them up. Even though these are my first ones, I'm pretty certain that they went down in size. It doesn't matter too much, because honestly a tube this size will last you an extremely long amount of time even with regular use.
These are very opaque and pigmented! They feel like a glossy lipstick on, but not with a sticky feeling. Having dark pink lips, I usually have to cancel out my lips for lighter lipsticks. Not with these! I suggest applying these with a lip brush. If you put a drop of the Lip Tar on your lip brush, it will cover both of your lips. Maybe I'm weird for saying this but the smell makes me think of mint chocolate chip! The staying power is impressive and I did not find them to be drying on the lips. I plan on adding more to my wishlist for the next year's IMATS! I can't think of a bad thing to say about them, except that the tube can be a little messy because it is a squeeze tube.
Hush is described as a bridal pink. It pairs nicely with MAC's Baby Sparks Dazzleglass, if you want a little sparkle on top.
Memento is described as a pinkish plum. This one is absolutely gorgeous for fall and winter.
The color that swatches on my hand is exactly what shows up on the lip. If you're interested in these, you can find them at Obsessive Compulsive Cosmetics (OCC). They have colors for the brave and colors for everyday. They sell for $12.50US. In my opinion, that's a steal!

New Layout!
I liked the last layout, but you know me. I get bored so easily. I updated my layout. I now have a wider header and had to tweak the codes, so please let me know if it does not load properly for you! Hope you like it. ♥

IMATS Toronto 2010 Haul
I think I spent a little more than last year, but a few of the products (not pictured below) I purchased are for a swap I'm doing with Amelia. :) I walked out having $30 left of the money that I had allotted for spending. Not bad!

Only three things from Make Up For Ever. I was planning to get more, but they were sold out of a lot of things that I wanted. This is probably a good thing since this was the first booth I stopped at and didn't want to spend too much money yet! Aqua Eyes in 0L (black), Full Cover Concealer in 1 (fair), and HD blush in #7 (a peachy color). All will be swatched and reviewed!
OCC Lip Tars in Hush and Memento. I wanted these so badly last year but they had sold out, so I made it one of my first booths to stop by this time. I got lucky and wasted no time in telling them the exact two I wanted. One woman looked at me and said "I like you. You're a lady on a mission!" Darn right, I knew I had to have them this year. I absolutely cannot wait to swatch these and give my review!
Eve Pearl's Salmon Concealer and Treatment in Light. I've heard such lovely things about this concealer.
NYX had a booth this year, which had one of the bigger selections available among the different brands. I was really impressed. This also worked out perfectly, because Amelia happened to ask for a few NYX goodies for our swap. ;) Clear lipgloss, Salsa lipgloss, Bling lipstick, Heiress lipstick, Sparkling Dusty Rose lipstick, Summer in Hampton lipstick, Mauve blush, Peach blush, and Versus palette.
Just a quick picture to show you the Versus palette. Neutrals on top row and purples on the bottom row? Yes, please. It's a beautiful color scheme. Did I need another palette? No, but you try to say no to this. It's gorgeous. Ha!
I only picked up two brushes from Royal & Langnickel. They make decent brushes, but I do prefer Crown. Their booth was my last stop of the day. I managed to grab up the last concealer brush. The kabuki brush is so soft. It gives my EcoTools one a run for its money!
Crown brushes. These are some of the best affordable brushes around. So many people talk about Sigma, but not enough people talk about Crown! I picked up a flat top kabuki, an angled blush brush, duo fiber face brush, a tapered face brush (similar to MAC 138), retractable lip brush, lip brush, and a fluffy eyeshadow brush (MAC 217 dupe). I will give a further review on these with pros, cons, and uses.
If you want to know a specific price of something I got, I'll do my best to remember. The most expensive thing I bought would be the Eve Pearl concealer at $25 and the cheapest was the $2 concealer brush from Royal & Langnickel. That just shows you how decent the discounts and prices are at IMATS. If going to a future IMATS,I recommend looking at the different exhibitor's websites and making a list of what you want, because otherwise you'll go in and end up overwhelmed by the selection. I made my list and stuck to it. It also made my time at the booths shorter and I didn't go over budget.
I'm very happy with my haul this year. I got so many things that I have been wanting for a long time. I am really looking forward to doing the reviews and swatches. Hope to see YOU there next year! :)

IMATS Toronto 2010 Pictures

I went on Saturday! I was pleased to see that it was bigger than last year's and much more crowded. That's great because the bigger it gets, the more brands that will get interested in having a booth. :) I'll share some pictures and input from my day in this post and tomorrow will be my haul.
Special effects displays at the Complections Makeup School booth.
Body painting. This girl's makeup was absolutely gorgeous.
NYX was there this year!
Naked pigments.
Crown Brush sets.
Koren's teaching class on makeup and brush tips. Elessa was his model! I learned quite a bit from him.
Me with Elessa.
Me with Koren. I had to keep tradition going and get photos with those two. They are both so sweet!
Me with Kandee Johnson! I pretty much made a dash near the end of her Q&A session and made my way to the Make-Up Artist Magazine booth for her meet and greet. I was first in line. Heck yes! I was actually not in the best mood and she whipped it right out of me with her bubbly personality. It's hard not to walk away from her and not be smiling. She's 10x sweeter and bubbly in person and I didn't even think that was possible!
The day was a success! I met a new friend, got some great makeup, and met some wonderful people that have taught me many tricks of the trade. Win! I felt like it was a bit of false advertising that they said that MAC would have a booth, so I got so excited over it. Turns out that it was just a display booth and to give out MAC Pro applications. Yawn. I think it was a mistake on their part, because they would have sold out much like Make Up For Ever! More tomorrow... :)
