Let Me Sip On Your Nectar

Currently watching: The Simpsons
Currently drinking: Diet Pepsi
Currently feeling: happy tomorrow is a holiday

Love Nectar is the latest lipglass that I have gotten from MAC. It's a Lustreglass, so it has little flecks of glitter in it to reflect shine. My lips already have a pink tone, so this gives them just a slight pink sheen with major shine. It's gorgeous layered over other colors, as well. And when the sunlight hits it, Holy shiny lips, Batman! I think this is a nice basic to have from MAC for your cosmetics case. It's a lovely color that would suit just about anyone!

On my lips (with a little bit of sunshine coming in):

Soap & Glory

Currently watching: Rachael Ray Show
Currently thinking: about what to have for dinner
Currently feeling: hungry

Two more Soap & Glory product reviews. :) I've yet to be disappointed by this brand. I'm Wendy and I'm an addict. On to my enablers!

Great Shakes- This is a really nice hand lotion. It has their signature scent (which I said before smell almost like Miss Dior Cherie). It's a thick consistency, but it's not oily at all. I was amazed at how quickly it melts into the skin. I rub it into my cuticles as well, because I have dry skin and I'm a biter. Deadly combination when it comes to my cuticles! My hands are definitely not as dry as they were before this.

Flirtigo spray- This is touted on the bottle as a moisturizing spray. They say to spray it on after a shower because then it soaks in, but I've used it at anytime of the day. The only reason I can't say if I know if it is moisturizing or not is because I'm so addicted to the Righteous Body Butter by them, that I would not stop using it to find out! However, it's a perfect duo with the lotions to keep the scent going during the day.

My birthday is coming!

Currently watching: Kim Possible...yeah, no shame!
Currently reading: UK Glamour
Currently feeling: annoyed

So my birthday is not for another 15 days, but I've been working on my list! I'll be 25 this year and I can hardly believe it. It seems like yesterday that I graduated from high school! It's absurd to think about how quickly time goes by. Anyway, on to my list!

My first and foremost gift that I want is one that I have been wanting for more than five years! If I don't get this, the other things on the list are back-up ideas. If I get this, I am happy with just getting the camera alone with no other gifts! Just to have a professional camera... My two options are a Canon Rebel XS or Nikon D60. My top choice being a Nikon, because I've always liked their shape and feel. I'd be happy with either.

I have had my eye on a few perfumes lately! They all smell divine and have such lovely bottles. Clockwise: Miss Dior Cherie, Vera Wang Rock Princess, Juicy Couture, and Vera Wang Princess.
I've been wanting a bike for awhile. Because it makes me reminiscent of my childhood, I'd love a purple one. My favorite bike back then was purple and I rode it almost everyday. It doesn't hurt that I like purple either. :) I like this Schwinn one because it's great on comfort.

I need a new pair of Birkenstocks and I've been thinking about the Gizeh type. I used to have a huge obsession with Birks!

As for random gifts:

What girl does not like jewelry? I have fallen in love with the Tiffany key necklaces!

Besides all of that, I pretty much just have some things in mind to get while in Chicago. I have to take advantage of being near Marc Jacobs, The Container Store, Penelope's, and Target!

RIP to these legends!

Ed McMahon died yesterday at age 86 after being ill for sometime. He will be remembered in my heart as being the sidekick to Johnny Carson where I feel he often took the spotlight!

Farrah Fawcett died this morning at age 62 after her long battle with cancer. Earth has definitely lost an angel.

Michael Jackson died today at age 50 due to cardiac arrest. It's sad to think that this was going to be his comeback year with the tour that he was getting ready for. He was such a talented person. It really hurts that so many people are being insensitive about his death. Yes, he had some strange moments...but there is no need to bring up negative things now. Let's remember him for his talent!

When Dove(s) Cry.

Currently watching: Real World: Cancun premiere
Currently worried: about Lar's Nan
Currently feeling: emotional

After my harrowing experience with the Clean & Clear moisturizer (a few posts back), I decided to try Dove next. I chose Dove because it was on sale, it was offered in a sensitive skin formula, and I've never had a problem with their products. Here is my review!

This is gentle enough to apply morning and night, but I generally only apply it once during the day when I put my makeup on. It's a light and airy formula and does not feel greasy or gritty at all. I've been applying it a little over a week and no breakouts or allergic reactions! My skin definitely feels a little softer, but I'm not sure if the overall dryness has really decreased that much. I'm going to try it a little longer to see if it gets rid of it. Another drawback is the bottle shape and getting the product out. All in all, I am rather pleased with it.

Bomb(er)s Away!

Currently listening: Use Somebody by Kings of Leon
Currently eating: chilimac and garlic Texas toast
Currently feeling: happy

A few weeks ago, I put in an order to Alloy (again!). This time I had autumn weather in mind and took advantage of a super great clearance sale. I got the long plaid bomber jacket for $40! It comes to mid-thigh, has a detachable fur-lined hood, and a nice lining inside. It's multiple shades of blue, purple, and gray. I'm not-so-secretly praying for fall to get here quickly so I can wear it!

I've said on here before that Paris Blues are my favorite brand of jeans. They actually know how to make a pair of good plus-sized jeans where they don't make the leg three times too big. I carry more of my weight at top, so it really bothers me when I try on a pair of bootcut and they've made them more like a wide-legged fit just because they think all plus-sized women all have horribly huge legs. It's ridiculous. With that said, their jeans actually fit like they do on the smaller sizes. Everyone can find a happy medium with this brand!

I normally buy a darker wash, but I decided to try out the lighter ones. They're ok! I figure I might wear them a bit this summer with a cute peasant top and flip-flops. As long as your jeans fit properly, a lighter wash can look good. I don't really like the lighter wide-legged pants because they can add weight on anyone. I don't know about you, but I don't want something that is going to add weight to my build!

The CMT Awards took place this week. Here are a few of my favorite looks from them.

Not a favorite look, but I think Dierks Bentley wins for cutest date. :)

Julianne Hough looked gorgeous in this peach dress. Well, really it's hard to make her look anything but gorgeous.

Kellie Pickler wore this while performing. It looks like she was channeling Tina Turner in this sparkling number. I love it!

Taylor Swift walked the red carpet in this lovely tiered minidress. I find it completely glamourous and age-appropriate. And it shows off her great legs!

If you were wondering on the last entry why I said I was nervous for today, it's because I had an interview with immigration! Today's entry is completely random and has nothing to do with fashion, health, or beauty. It does have to do with my happiness and a huge release of stress off of my shoulders.

You are looking at Canada's newest Permanent Resident!

I'm super excited! It took me three long years and a lot of work, but now I am here to stay. :)

Shredded Leggings

Currently watching: SYTYCD
Currently drinking: Fruit Punch Hi-C
Currently feeling: nervous for tomorrow

So I was looking at shopbop because they sometimes have some great sales, but then I came across a section on ripped leggings. First of all, I understand ripped jeans and people wanting that shredded look and I absolutely adore leggings. However, I don't get this trend at all when it comes to shredded leggings. I don't want to walk around with a run in my pantyhose, so why on earth would I wear leggings like this? It seems so tacky (in my opinion, of course). Worst of all? They are all around $100.

If you really want this look, do yourself a favor and save some money. You can buy a pair of leggings at Walmart or F21 for around $12 and you can buy some fabric scissors in the craft section while you are there. And now, F21 even offers shredded ones for a decent price. If you are spending more than $20 on leggings (especially these with only half of the material), then could you please send some of your extra money my way because I can definitely think of some things that are better to spend your money on! :)

Not so moisturizing.

Currently watching: Rachael Ray Show
Currently dreaming: of the beach
Currently feeling: nervous

I would have loved it if this product would have lived up to the brand. Unfortunately after a week of using this product, my skin has been anything but clean and clear. I do have very sensitive skin, but it's not prone to breakouts. I actually rarely breakout, but this made my face red, irritated, and a few bumps showed up. I was also really hoping that the "glow" that it gives would be something like what Benefit's High Beam does. Sadly, the glow is nothing more than glitter in the formula.

I can't even say that my dry skin really went away. After reading a few other reviews, many complained about the glitter bothering them and the formula making their skin burn. If you don't have overly sensitive and/or dry skin, maybe this will work for you. I, on the other hand, will continue on my quest to find a decent moisturizer. I am open to suggestions!

Today's entry is about inspiration. Lately, I've been getting a lot of inspiration from flowers. I'm really into lilac purples right now with my makeup and wardrobe. There are so many things to draw inspiration from! Is there something that you are getting inspiration from and showing it through your style? This product takes the glory!

Currently watching: The Simpsons
Currently reading: Enthusiasm by Polly Shulman
Currently feeling: calm

Here are my reviews for three Soap & Glory products! I only have three so far, but I can assure you that I want more. S&G is a UK-based brand of skincare and miscellaneous lip products. Every product comes in adorable pink vintage looking packaging with witty titles, which alone almost made me buy it! I did read a couple of reviews first before buying, however. Anyway, on to the reviews!

Righteous Body Butter- I can sum this up in one word: amazing! Allow me to divulge on my experience, please. I have a very rough dry patch of skin on both elbows, which I know is fairly common. I have been using this twice a day for not even a week and they are both gone! Like magic! Nothing else has every worked. This worked like a charm.

Calm One, Calm All- This is a very lovely bubble bath formula. A little goes a long way, as it seems to be highly concentrated. My skin felt so buttery soft afterward that I almost wanted to climb back in for another hot bubble bath!

Clean On Me- This shower cream has body lotion in it. It's like two steps in one. I have very dry skin in other areas of my body besides just my elbows and this completely took care of it. One squirt will pretty much do the trick. I can see this lasting me for months.

You know another great thing about these products? They smell almost just like Miss Dior Cherie! Can you imagine smelling almost just like that lovely perfume everyday for way less?! I absolutely love a bargain and I'm sold on this one. If you are in the UK, you can purchase them at Boots. If in the States, Target sells them. In Canada, you can buy them at Shoppers Drug Mart. I believe those are the only places so far, but do search for them and try them. I'm quite infatuated and obsessed now.

Brown Sugar, how come you taste so good?

Currently watching: The Simpsons
Currently drinking: water
Currently feeling: accomplished

I bought a Liplicious gloss at Bath & Body Works the other week. One end has a gloss and the other end is a brown sugar scrub. You rub on the scrub and exfoliate your lips. You won't believe how soft this makes your lips feel! I get really bad chapped lips from time to time and I honestly felt a difference the first time. And the best part? You just lick it off! Then, you just add the gloss on the other end. I got the Mango Colada and it smells pretty good. I was actually wanting the watermelon one, but they did not have it. This is worth it for the scrub alone. I will definitely buy this again!

I saw Up in 3D on Saturday night. I think 3D is just getting better and better. I can't say enough wonderful things about Up. It's hard to explain but this movie succeeds at combining funny moments with sad moments all at the same time and it really comes together to create a touching storyline. I cried, I laughed, and I fell in love. This is a movie to see in theatres and then buy when it comes out...and watch it often! /5

Minty Fresh

Currently watching: Rachael Ray Show rerun
Currently bought: preordered Lauren Conrad's book L.A. Candy
Currently feeling: excited for the weekend

I went to a new Bath & Body Works near my home, because I can't stay away from the store. I jumped for joy when I found out there was one going up about fifteen minutes from my house! The best news is that mid-month, they are bringing back some old discontinued favorites. So get ready to go out and stock up on Pearberry (my personal favorite), Country Apple, Sun-Ripened Raspberry, Juniper Breeze, and more. I can't wait!

Another thing I love is that they carry C.O. Bigelow products. If you have not tried any of their items, I really recommend it. Their skin lotions and lip products are great. And they are packaged like a throwback to an earlier era.

I bought the lip tint in Coral Mint. One of the best things about this gloss is that it has a powerful mint smell that masks bad breath. So if you don't have a mint on hand, just rub this across your lips. The color is a lovely muted coral, which is a hot shade for summer! It moisturizes your lips and is not really sticky. I have fair skin and the color looked fine.

Lemon lip cream. First off, I just want to say that if I could eat this stuff, I would! You know how the lemon smells inside of a stuffed donut? That's exactly what this smells like! It's a nice and sweet smell. I put this on at night so that it can moisturize my lips as I sleep. Out of all of my Bigelow lip products, this one is my go-to favorite.

Sunday was the MTV Movie Awards and I've gotta say that I've been really impressed with most of Miley's dress choices this year. She dresses so well for red carpet events. I would love for her casual style to improve, but she's young and can get away with the stuff she wears. I think she is one of the best dressed from Sunday's Awards. She looked pretty in pink in this Moschino Cheap and Chic dress. It was enough for me to overlook her pointless shout-out to Andy at the end of her speech.

Don't call me "Too Faced".

Currently watching: Jon & Kate Plus Eight

Here is a review for Too Faced Shadow Insurance!

I already have Urban Decay's Primer Potion in both regular and Sin formulas. I really do love it, but there are some downfalls to them. The major one is the packaging. There is so much product in the little tubes that the brush just does not pick up. Honestly, the method to get it all out is very time consuming. Do a search on YouTube and you'll see what I mean. My reviews for both the regular version and the Sin version are here and here, respectively.

Now about the Shadow Insurance...I love it! It's close to, if not the same, color as the UDPP one. Because it is highly concentrated, a little dot goes a long way. I've found that it goes on a little smoother, as well. The packaging is great since you can squeeze out every last drop when the time comes. My eyeshadow does not crease and stays put all day. I've been using it more than UDPP since I bought it!
