MAC Must Haves

Currently listening: to the rain hit my window- I love that sound!
Currently drinking: water
Currently feeling: motivated

I thought I would talk about my MAC must haves for a starter kit. I think these are great to add to anyone's kit! So beginners, if you don't know where to start, these can help you achieve a whole look!

1. Mineralize Skinfinish powders- A Natural one is perfect for use as a powder to set your makeup, but has buildable coverage that can allow it to act as a foundation. A colored one can act as a blush, bronzer, or all-over glow. If you ever only get one thing MAC, I must say that a MSF powder should be that product!
2. Paint Pot- These are capable of triple duty! You can use it as a primer, a base, or an eyeshadow on it's own. I recommend Rubenesque as it's a nice basic color that suits just about every skintone. Many people choose Painterly as their base and it's quite similar in color to UDPP and Too Faced Shadow Insurance.
3. Lipglass/Lipstick- They offer several kinds of lipglasses (their name for lipglosses). I tend to prefer Lustreglasses. They have just the right amount of shimmer and shine. I recommend C-Thru Lipglass for either a basic nude lip or as a topcoat for other lip colors. I also like Love Nectar Lustreglass which is a nice pink color. As for lipstick, my favorite is Color Crafted (limited edition). I would say that Angel is the closest to that shade, though.
4. Lip Conditioner- You can get the regular or a tinted one. These work well as a base before your lipstick or gloss and really soften the lips. I also think these used as a base is a great way to stop your lipstick from feathering.
5. Pigment- MAC is well-known for their pigments. I have Melon, Violet, Teal, Vanilla, and Naked. Vanilla is a great pigment to start out with because it works wonders as a highlighter. You can also mix it in with liquid foundation for an all-over glow.
6. Concealer- They offer Studio Sculpt and Studio Finish, which I think are the best ones. I actually prefer Studio Finish as it has SPF and a little more product for your money. It's also not stored in the heavier glass container. It's water-resistant and lasts all day for maximum coverage. I don't really tend to break out so I don't use it for blemishes often, but I do use it under my eyes. I also use it to cancel out my lip pigment under a nude or light lip tint.

The lip conditioners are really nice. My favorite is the Pink Fish one from the Hello Kitty collection. And they smell like vanilla!
